Now is the time to speak fearlessly and truthfully about caring about our planet and to stop harming all life, stop killing animals, insects and each other. We must stop supporting the military, fossil fuel, and chemical industrial complex(es) and must not continue to support the methane-producing and inhumane livestock industry. Valuable resources are being wasted on producing and consuming animal products. Climate engineering and weather warfare is disguised as a solution to the heating crisis, when actually it is just treating a symptom. Meanwhile the greed provokes the insane continuation of industrial and political conspiring to profit at the expense of all life.

I am a dietitian and I speak up about the environmental NECESSITY of everyone adopting more plant-based diets. It baffles me how many very intelligent nutrition professionals will insult me, and try to discredit plant-based diets and veganism. They say that it is not their role, that they care only about nutrition. Taking action to stop climate change, is everyone's responsibility and duty to adjust their lifestyles (diet, energy consumption and consumer behaviour). And we should make ourselves heard.

What would be the environmental impact of 310,000,000 people suddenly demanding massive amounts more vegetables 🌽 , grains, nuts 🥜 and fruits 🍉 to meet protein and caloric intake? Is there enough land and water to support 95% new demand? What about labor- who’s going to pick all the millions of pounds of new crop? We don’t have enough immigrants for that unless we radically change immigration laws. Prices would surely skyrocket causing a new kind of crisis. That bag of almonds will go from $12 to $48 overnight. There will be full scale riots at Whole Foods in the avocado 🥑 isles.

You actually contribute greatly to it. You think eating a large variety of plants from all over the world is without consequence? How do you think it gets there? We are in the midst of the 6th mass extinction event as global temperatures rise while environmental disruption and degradation continues to accelerate. Climate Scientists can pinpoint the rise in greenhouse gases and global temperatures with the rise of capitalism and wide scale industrialization. Capitalism is hinged upon profit at the cost of horrendous environmental and human/animal degradation and exploitation. Just ask well known Economist Richard Wolff from Democracy at Work that capitalism, while bringing some positives for sure, has brought about far more catastrophes and unconscienable inequality. This isn't about the private vs public sector, it's about people over profit- putting decision making power into the hands of the people in their own communities where it belongs. Worker owned cooperatives such as in Spain, Italy, even in the US, Canada etc have proven to be able to outcompete those run by individual property owners. Economically, environmentally, ethically socialism/communism is vital to our survival and of our future. This attitude of "me me me" at the cost of others is unsustainable, cruel and unecessary.

If you have stopped eating animal products, anything that lowers your carbon footprint helps. Switch from plastic to glass or metal. Reuse as much as you can in your home before throwing it out. Limit paper products you buy. Recycle your electronics, compost food scraps, grow your own herbs in a window sill. It all adds up, but animal AG is No.1 to stop.

@@jesseoliver3575 it really isnt. Just because someone is vegan doesnt mean that they dont contribute greatly. They probably contribute more seeing as to how if you eat a varied vegan diet more things need to he transported from all over the world to a building where more energy is used to keep it "fresh". Buying local animal products on their wild natural diet is actually beneficial to the environment.

Capitalism is at conflict with life on this planet.

I think it's consumerism that's the problem. "Consumerism is a social and economic order that encourages the acquisition of goods and services in ever-increasing amounts." Capitalism is "private property, capital accumulation, wage labor, voluntary exchange, a price system, and competitive markets."

Skweepa You seriously don’t feel consumerism is a direct consequence of capitalism seeing that infinite growth is required??? Capitalism pushes consumerism for crying out loud!! Not to mention that my time on this planet (along with everyone else’s) is limited and should be treated as such rather then X amount of dollars per week or month. The only way anyone can make money in a capitalist monetary system is if you either underpay your source and/or inflate the perceived value of a good at POS. In other words you’re ripping people off and it usually happens at the cost of not only people but animals and nature as well because everyone and everything is viewed as a commodity.

Dennis Renner - Capitalism is not the problem, greed is. Selfish greed drives the insane politicians and industrialists to rape the planet by spreading their profit motivated lies to the people of earth. Lies about nutrition and health and the environment. It never ends. But Greta and her rhetoric and her emotional rantings won't solve it. Attacking Capitalism most definitely NOT solve anything.

Okay, my only question is how do you make people vegan. While I am concerned about climate change and don't eat red meat myself (and eventually other meat) how do you get people to eat it. I don't think you can just force people to. Any thoughts?

How about organising vegan alternative tastings? Free samples for everyone who's interested, or a party where everything is vegan? Let them taste things without any risk (of messing up cooking something new or paying for it and not liking it). Tell them that you eat like this all the time and it's not difficult. Be prepared to recommend sources for recipes. Perhaps plan and schedule cooking with your friends. It's best to lead by example and be gentle and helpful.

I am but how you would you know 😊. What they also have done in Sweden is showing her doing a public speach, making it look like she is actually speaking at these big events, but in reality she is not, it has been shown it's fake, she is talking infront of an empty crowd on stage recorded before or after these international meetings. Is this to make us swedes believe she is bigger than what she is? Not sure, but something is not right with her. P.s I don't use private jets, she does, but she tells us "normal" people to stop flying and take the train.
