I hope at least one was thinking "this is the greatest thing I've ever done, it's all downhill from here!"
You can tell how good the piece was simply by looking at how much fun the orchestra was having playing it. A wonderful job by all, bravo from a huge Jerry Goldsmith fan

I'm sure they were enjoying themselves. Thanks to Jakob Stegelmann's show "Troldespejlet" that theme has become iconic in Denmark, to the point where it's now linked with that show (and Jakob himself) rather than with the movie. The audience loves it, and the orchestra knows it...

@@BrickworksDK Thats cool. Almost like Vangelis "Chariots of fire" that got more or less synonym with the Swedish television program about natur "In the middle of Nature" :-) (Mitt i naturen) that was on SVT2 (or channel 2 as it was called at those times). On SVT1 it was another natur-program that was called "One with natur" (1 med naturen) A little word play with that channels name.
I just found out that the The Danish National Symphony Orchestra is the oldest in the world, founded in 1441 (WTF?!) and is also regarded as one of the top 10 in the world. What history and what amazing performances they make!
I love how everyone is just enjoying playing this
They're having as much fun playing it as we are watching them! 🤗

This is such an homage to Jakob Stegelmann - without him gaming and fantasty would never have been so big as it is in Denmark. He taught an entire generation that it is okay to be a nerd. This piece was for him.

Everyone in the orchestra knows this my heart, it’s so easy to tell. They are having the time of their life reliving their childhood be that from the actual movie or the danish tv show Troldspejlet, Well done!
when you see the musicians enjoying and smiling playing it you know it will be a good performance and not forced
I saw Gremlins in '84 when I was 12 and that theme stayed stuck in my head for months . Love it . I remember humming it on a plane in '84 to avoid puking and it worked .

The Power of Jerry Goldsmith. Damn, I miss him.
I love how much fun everyone looks like they're having
Now here is one conductor who enjoying herself with this piece, no two doubts about it 😀 And by the looks, so do a fair few of the musicians too. And who could blame them. There is something childishly enjoyable among all that serious adult music notation on the sheets in front of them. This is, in so many ways, such a tongue-in-cheek piece of music. I bought this soundtrack in 1993. It was the first ever CD I purchased as a teenager. It led to me being a life long fan of Jerry Goldsmith and his music. From all the different recordings I heard over the years of this little end credit suite, this one comes phenomenally close to the original. They managed to get the synths and the percussion just right without going out to town and getting the sort of setup Jerry would have had in the recording studio, and they also played with with the right elements of fun, joy and tension where required. Huge BRAVO from me. Now how much I would love to conduct a rehearsal of this with an orchestra just once in my life 😀

I loved the happy expression of the conductor!
C'est magnifique! I could listen to their performance with my eyes closed, and all I can remember is my childhood days in the 90's. Every note, and every stroke sounds exactly like the original score. Absolutely marvelous!
Perfect mixture of comedy and chaos. Love it!
There's so much meaning in the music that most people miss. For example the fact that the music turns to lovely peaceful fun type of sound and abruptly goes to the famous Gremlins part parallels how the Gremlins just come out of nowhere and wrek havock on everything.
Great job to all these professionals you could tell they had fun playing this
I am speechless... What's that? A pure music
You know they had a blast doing this.
Jerry you are missed!! But you're amazing scores live on! Amazing performace bravo.
I can't sit still to this. Wonderful happy cherry music.
Brilliant, perfect rendition of the original music... and I gotta say, the whole setup with the cool lighting switching between warm, bright light during the slow parts, and eerie, blue light during the fast parts... fantastic!! Together with the obvious joy of every single musician, this was just a pleasure to watch !!
La cheffe d’orchestre, belle et charismatique ❤
Så er der Troldspejlet :D virkelig fed melodi .
A wonderful onslaught of beautiful sounds! So incredible! And, they are having fun!
That all of these (insanely talented) people can come together and perform something so imaginative and fun with nary a false note is nothing short of miraculous. Bravo!

If you watch the performance of "who wants to live forever (Highlander)" the guy saying "there can be only one"in the beginning, is David Bateson (aka the voice of Agent 47)
It's really fun reading the comments from non-danes who do not realise HOW instrumental this song has been to more or less every Danish nerd... so: since the 80s it's been the theme song for THE danish nerd tv-show called troldspejlet ("magic mirror", it covered videogames, cartoons, horror/fantasy movies and books etc), hosted by the guy who also hosted this concert. So yes, it's awesome, gremlins is awesome, but I am pretty sure most Danes under 45 would go "it's the Troldspejlet theme" before anything else, and I don't know anyone who doesn't get automatically happy from hearing it.
