Greg’s voice just fits with this one. Written and sung well by Warren, but Greg always rose to the occasion when singing this song. His gravely southern drawl and a lifetime of miles on the road and his tortured soul was simply perfect, imho. Bless his memory

This is the the perfect example of a conversation of guitar solos. Everyone is taking turns without losing the essence of the song. Nobody wants to outshine anyone with some fancy lick that will ruin the flow. DT turning down the volume of his amp clearly showed a mutual respect for the Trey and Warren.

Supposedly Gregg said he never believed in reincarnation until he heard Derek play. And it's common knowledge that Derek loves Duane and studied his playing and music growing up. Hell, he has one of Duane's Marshalls from "At Fillmore East". So, yea. I think Derek is likely a bigger Duane-head than most all of us lol They jammed so hard, it even gives ME guitar face 😆

I gave up on radio music many years ago. Heard nothing innovative, nothing worth listening to. Went in search of the real stuff. Have discovered along the way many artists who have been carrying the torch, these guys reign at the top (including TTB). Finding these amazing performances has justified and fulfilled my journey. It has re-filled my soul's craving for talent, soul and authenticity. This is musical paradise.

His brother was smart, four Altec 160W green tube amps connected in bridges, a crossover network in a cigar box with the crossover frequencies calculated in pencil on the lid, Altec and BSR speakers, you get the idea. It was all fun until Paul’s older brother did not come back from Vietnam (well in a way he did). I still love the Dead 50 years later. Some day, I too will pass and all of this will make sense. Usually lm not speechless, heard it from the others several times & even live on “ the MS River, l was blown away round 2004~05; I remember wondering who was The youngest fella ripping off his licks & Warren was also,,, it had been a minute since l had been on tour local Outdoor Mud Island , anyway my younger brother shook his older sister but was watching me from the top.. l was good at working my way through down front for yrs…of many concerts around mid south with my old high school boyfriend/ fiancé Jeff… they played what seemed after 2:00am. LSkynyrd opened.. this south. This l definitely declare l will never forget it being 1 of best shows on the river outside….Yes l was blessed to have gotten so close with out being hassled ❣️l realized Greg has again regrouped & it shook me all over that l say it was just that great 💕🎶💕🎶💕🎶💕🌺

This song brings back some awesome memories sitting on the opposite side of the keyboard from Greg on a Thanksgiving Eve night sitting drinks up for each other at the Toy Tiger in Louisville Kentucky back around 1985. The only thing that blew the night was going out to find my hubcaps had walked off. But it was all worth it to get to jam with Greg
