i loved this scene so much, its the best representation of how people actually react to other people hurting them. Like we usually are annoyed and hurt but we wont tell that person, we just let it hurt us secretly. Love Greg

He'll get better but he also needs to take care of himself first. The first season had Greg repeating a lot of patterns of his self-destructive sad-sack dad and showed him wallowing in a lot of old resentments towards his mom while hiding his own issues behind layers of indifference and cynicism. Part of the point of this episode was to show that just because Greg got sober doesn't mean that he doesn't still have his own mess to clean up and that takes time and painful work as well.

Being asked to bring the doughnuts IS actually a big deal lol. IT MEANS YOURE IN AND THAT THEY TRUST YOU TO COME THOUGH! WOOHOO GO GREG!!!

The character Greg is so well made, and his acting skills do so much justice to the character.

This reprise breaks my heart everytime I watch it. You know it's serious when he didn't even bother finishing the song anymore.

He's extremely hot and cute af when he get mad.

All the angry and sad people in American shows and movies should really count their blessings that they live in America. You try and punch through a wall in Germany, you will only get many broken bones and perhaps a smear of blood on the perfectly not-broken wall. In fact, I once knew a guy who tried punching a wall in anger here and he *did* break his hand. So there.

To be honest, I wouldn't like to live there based on many things wrong with the system, not even for punching holes in random walls. ^^ (Although once as a kid I accidentally jumped head first into a wall, that might have hurt less in your country - but also would have gotten me into trouble with my parents for breaking a wall^^)

It just shows that America is cheap and the walls are made of material that you can easily hear through and rats can live inside. They also did show that Greg did get pretty badly hurt even if the wall was "easily" damaged.

You can’t help but fall in love with Santino Fontana as Greg, which means you can’t help but fall in love with the audiobook version of Joe from You. I don’t even know if I’d love that book so much if he hadn’t narrated it, but damn if his voice isn’t sexy!

Reprises are always the best

Excited to se Greg come back in the last season, so changed that he's played by a different actor. I hope that means he's happy and healthy now.

Poor Greg :( in a way I am glad he left, he deserved better.

Gosh the series with old Greg was a total different thing.

There's no evidence simply because there's no evidence, they've just known each other for a long time and have nothing else. It's presented as a romantic comedy so we are constantly, constantly battling the excuses the format makes for us, but I think it's a portrayal of poor social connections taken for granted, and male bonding. Like I know so many guys who have nothing outside of work, their family friends are really the wife's friends, and they're fine, you could make a sitcom about them, then retirement isolates them and leaves them stranded.

...And that was the moment I hated Josh irredeemably as a character.

I don’t think he’s that bad. He’s incredibly naive and a bit of an idiot but for the most part we only see him through Rebecca’s mind as a 2 dimensional self obsessed dumbass. All of his songs that don’t take place in Rebecca’s head with her idealized version of him portray him as as a much different character.

Every shot has different stuff on the table

The incorporation of this reprise is brilliant: 1) It represents the old toxic thought processes creeping back in 2) Sometimes, when we find out something that hurts us, we’ll try to ration it out at first and think it’s not a big deal, but then the feelings start to break through our defenses and build up rapidly (that’s a terrible way of wording it, I know). And even this is shown by how the music starts to fade in only towards the end

Character development reprise! Starts to slide into old toxic habit of numbness and bitterness. Goes “no, you know what this actually really sucks, and lets himself have emotions.” It feels even more poignant when he says later that he very nearly drank that night, but punched a wall instead. THAT’S the song. The desire to kill his emotions, including through drink, so that he doesn’t have to face the pain of trying. So proud of him.

2:50 Unfortunely hits me way to close to home..... Even though my punches never broke any walls but hitting walls did help a bit fortunely the boxing sack in the gym also helps

I really don't see either as bad exactly. They're more just immature and in Rebecca's case, she has legitimate unresolved issues stemming from her dysfunctional and lonely childhood. I can imagine both growing out of this behavior with time, mistakes and consequences and experiences which is what the show is all about.

Well. Trent and Rebecca are made for each other. They're both intelligent (Yale graduates), borderline insane and obsessed with love. Besides their sexual libidos​, Josh and Rebecca really don't have anything in common. Rebecca would be more suited for Greg than Josh, if only she didn't dick him around so much. So in conclusion, Rebecca and Trent.

I think he was more mad at himself for screwing things up and missing his chance to be with Rebecca. Because right before Rebecca and Josh got together, Greg "abandoned her by blacking out." That's what led to it. It would be dumb for him to be mad at Rebecca, because yeah she was clearly after josh from the start, but he didn't seem to be.

Josh's a bad person! Yes it's true! He's a bad person, he's worse then you!

Greg treated Rebecca just as bad. Greg was only into Rebecca when she wasn't interested in him, and when she tried to move on from Josh and make an actual relationship with him, he pulled away, rejected her, got drunk on their date, and ghosted her for weeks.
