When I saw the small image of the landscape, I thought it was from the 18th century. But, oh my goodness, it's a contemporary landscape! Beautiful! And I love the way you work!! Thank you.
I like your video tutorials because, above all, you are honest about your nice art. Straight to the point and with no arrogance you transfer to many of us the principle of art that is the pleasure to express freely your inner creativity. Thanks.
I learn some new everytime I watch Stuart’s videos.
Wow! You've kind of given me the answers I've been searching for in painting for the last 10 years
I think it's the dark transparent color that makes this painting work so well. The technique allows for effortless abundant texture. It's actually more like drawing. Look at the way all those chicken scratches from the brush and paper towel create middle values as a whole but give the visual cortex something to do, unlike a photo with smooth gradients everywhere. I can't imagine a better way to excite painters just starting out, especially if they have drawing skills. I've seen George Inness work in 5 museums now and they are the best example of paintings having so much more impact in person. And none of them were large. They were so much about mood, atmosphere and nature. (Winslow Homer was a great artist but seeing his work in person I would not say he's a master.)
I enjoy watching you just before I fall asleep- the music is so relaxing and your gentle spoken voice, soothing and warm. When I close my eyes, I imagine painting like you do. This experience gently takes me fading away into dreamland as I hold a paintbrush in my hand. Thank you Stuart Davies for your wonderful inspiration! 🎨 🖌 ✨

You are incredibly inspiring. I just found you today and I love how you teach! It makes me feel that I can achieve what’s in my mind and heart.
There is so much to learn on every painting & voice over you do .. thank you for sharing your knowledge . The explanation of how a pathway should look like was spot on ..
Oh, I just wave my hands about. This is wonderful, Stuart. I learn from each one. Time to practice this. Thanks for sharing your perspective and methods.
I am enjoying watching you create this painting. I am also loving the meditating music. So soothing and relaxing. This video is so nice. :)
Breathtaking...
Thank you Mr. Davies! Love this...
🍃I am blown away with techniques which give value at every turn. Lovely, lovely work🍃
I love watching your method of painting. It’s mesmerizing.
Very lovely with the two colors and the very spontaneous painterly process
Love those trees.
What a treat. So delicious. Thanks.
You are so like the old master painters....your method glides effortlessly... hypnotic really. Then your clever dry wit will cause me to scream laughing! Love your videos so much. Thankyou.
Beautiful
This is why I admire your work so much !!! Another awesome masterpiece! Thank you so much for all the inspirations you’re posting on your channel Sir. God bless you more
Ha, love it !!! Like always it's a beautiful outcome . And watching you is so relaxing...hmmm
Beautiful work, love your techniques seems so simple. Looking forward to trying this out soon and seeing your next video 😀♥️
Once again you have your mastery. of this technique. Love your work.
Thank you so much Stuart for your this beautiful and informative video.
Very beautiful and inspiring! Many thanks!
Thank you for showing us the process
Wow wow wow, never seen anything like his ! I paint detailed watercolors. Thank you
Love the freedom !
It's brilliant Stuart, as is the commentary. From watching your videos, I am learning technique, illusion and layout of course, but what makes your content so much more valuable is that you let us into your head. The mind of the artist, and yes Stuart you are an artist, not just a painter as are so many other contributors. I love that you have no concept of the finished painting other than that it will probably be a landscape because that's what you do. Grab a big brush and see what appears. Your mind's freedom is your gift to us, thank you.
Very beautifull music to make the painting process nearly dreamlike - so beautifull to watch your process
you're a true master - bravo!
Thank you Mr. Davies for helping to re-ignite my desire to paint. I love this style and the freedom it promotes.
Very dreamlike painting process and the first layer looked so beautifull when you wiped away - everything had the same tonal quality and at the same time all the contrast that make the Lights sing and the dark shadows vibrate the secret life of the wood - together with your choice of music it was like a dreamtravel into a Nature of beauty and peace.
Thank you so much for putting your work on youtub for us to enjoy and relax to ! Cheers
That's beautiful.
Absolutely gorgeous! You are a wonderful teacher. You are confident enough to just let us watch without feeling it necessary to talk every single second. I also enjoy your music. I have had trouble sleeping lately. I have found that watching your videos is so relaxing that I am able to go right to sleep afterward. You are truly inspiring!
ADORABILE..!!STUPENDO..!!😍
So very beautiful. I saw water at the background when you started, but you ended up with a road. Still a landscape to dream about it. Thanks, Sir, for you kind generosity showing us your incredible art.
Beautiful, beautiful landscape! It has a dreamlike quality. I love the commentary too. What I learnt today was the importance of contrast, with that wonderful mistiness in the gap between the two tree clumps. So beautiful!
That's awesome!
Stunning.
I truly love your style. It inspires me , because I have shyly, hesitantly thought about incorporating uncommon techniques. My fingers, paper towel, cotton swabs, sponge, whatever will render a pleasing effect. So freeing.
Fantastic
Incredible! So inspiring!

How can this not be art? It's beautiful!
Lifting out is an old technique which you demonstrate with great enthusiasm, Stuart. I watched American artist Dennis Sheehan do this using a green and one red, over 5 years ago. I enjoyed watching it so much that I tried a couple, both for youtube, and although I tend to paint small pictures my approach is similar to yours. Not always though, as there are many ways to begin a painting, and I'm really inspired by your lovely work.
I enjoy this two colour approach, where often, less is more. Thank you, Stuart!

Amazing
🎉Another great example of your dedication and talent. Very inspiring has that old Masters look about it.
I love the lessons...but would also love a tutorial on your palette choices.
Love your style, accent and music. Dreamy art. Thanks 😊. Greetings from Anaheim, CA.
I like it when you keep talking , your voice is so relaxing and also a master at your approach to art, you inspire me so much, thank you
Hi Stuart, I just wanted to pass along that I really enjoyed this presentation with the music as you create. Love it!

You are very welcome, Edward!
Very nice painting, love your work and videos :-)
As always, your paintings are wonderful. They look so easy, but ... thank you so much for your inspiration and btw you certainly don’t talk too much!
thanks for the path explanation. i had this problem with my perspectives for years and you have sorted it out. regards
Hi Grandpa. Love your work. I'm 71 in Arkansas. I think it is you soft gentle voice.
LOVE IT!!!
As far as I'am concerned this is meditation at its Best. Mainly because your creating contrast we all can understand. It's magic with the tricks revealed .
Que talento impressionante 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️
Amazing!!
Great video Stuart, another 20 minutes well spent. My very first attempt at oils, & the one brush I had fell apart, so I ended up using an old toothbrush. Needs must-
I love it! I love YOU! You are so inspiring to me. Sometimes I sit and paint and don't watch you, I just listen, glance over, see what you are doing and I feel like I have a companion with me while I'm painting. Of course, don't get me wrong, I've seen the video already so it's not like I don't watch. I do. Anyway, I'm rambling.
I WANNA GET MY BRUSHES OUT AND TRY THIS! LOVE IT!
Your work is truly inspirational Stuart, at the age of 67 I’m trying oils for the first time, your process for creating a landscape is exceptional and as a beginner invaluable, thank you so much for sharing your abundance of experience with the feeling of being taught personally as I watch your videos’
Волшебно! Вы - МАСТЕР!

I agree. Fantastic inspiration :)
At 2:14 I saw trees and water. Almost like the Florida wetlands. I thoroughly enjoy watching you paint because what I see when you begin is something totally different to what you end up painting! Kim Kimmel
I've been painting for over 50 years seriously...I've learned more from you in six month that in all my years...subsiwuently my work has improved to a fantastic degree...

I'm with you totally
Wonderfull
wonderful
I thoroughly enjoy your demos and find your technique exciting. I'm following it myself but I seem to get in a mess doing it. Doesn't matter though - the results are promising. Why does your shirt stay so clean? I get paint everywhere. Your advice about paths/rivers is spot on. Do show more demos. They are much appreciated.

Thanks, Charles! When I started painting (during my student years) I had the same problem with paint getting everywhere!
Love this one, thank you for a wonderful inspiring session. Thank you also for sharing all your tips and tricks in this and many other videos. The both longer and short ones, I've watched so far, I watched clear to the end. ;-) . I'm fine with you talking and listing to music. I had an idea, I want to share with you: (this can work on any pallet) wrap kitchen foil around your china or paper plates. Btw, I use plastic foil too to cover paint that is left overnight or between sessions.
in this video you answered my question I asked in another. Is fascinating you have no preconceived idea what you are going to paint yet it turns out very well.
I really like this çomposion, it's almost an etching in style.thañk you
What kind of magic is this? I love your way to extract the color so we might see texture of canvas, it adds "air" to the painting, it is not massive and has that magic! thanks for sharing the process
Ha . Old British landscapes painting traditions Amazing.
I LOVE this 2-color piece. Also do show more close ups. It’s very helpful to see more clearly what exactly your “brush” strokes render. This was first time I saw u show a close up. Very different to see it that way. Thank you for what you do!!
Amaizing
Each time I se your base, it reminds me of Turner! Hope you see what I mean. But don't go tying yourself to a ship's mast at sea! Great work. Thank you.
Eu não sei falar inglês, mas espero que você consiga traduzir. Sua arte é incrível, seu estilo é único. Seus vídeos são ótimos e bem editados. Amo assistir seus vídeos antes de dormir. Muito sucesso e grande abraço. Belo Horizonte, MG Brasil. ❤
I so enjoy your videos and I’m learning from you before I try lol I have acrylic paints can I use oil with that or what do I use maybe water to thin it out … your work is amazing
Hello, love Your paintings, it's a great inspiration to me. Always wanted to paint like that and this videos helps a lot. Have you ever tried surrealism? Can you incorporate dramatic light effects and weather conditions? Music is also very soothing in this compositions. Wish you the best!
