Excellent explanation of this pellet grill
I bought a GMG Peak and had trouble with the grill right from the start. I was unable to get the app working consistently and then it just went blank. My vendor gave me a new board and now it rocks. I really like the build quality but GMG customer service does not respond, luckily the vendor bent over backwards to help me out. He was willing to bring a new grill to replace mine if this didn't fix the problem. Having a good vendor makes all the difference.
I've got a Davey Crockett (the smallest) and my brother does as well. I've had no problems with mine but my brother has had some issues with the fan/controller. He had incredible response from GMG support on several occasions and that responsiveness is what keeps me with this brand. Looking to get a Boone or Bowie possibly, just trying to decide on which one. Highly recommend.
I just bought the Jim Bowie today before seeing this video and you confirmed that my choice was the right one !

mike awesome video. if I was near you I would buy one from you. thanks
Great review! I am on the precipice of buying a Bowie Prime fromy local dealer here in southern california, but I am intrigued with the new Weber 2nd generation spitfire ex6. The dealer sells both but is very high on the Weber. Do you have experience with it and would you recommend? GMG still seems to have more bells, whistles, and accessories. For instance, Weber does not have a light or rotisserie option.
Note to possible danger in use , due to the carport like electrical connections it is easy to loose power if someone just barely move the connection points ,here is the problem upon restarting the fire bowl overload itself and in some cases tries to ignite causing excessive smoking to the point of flashover within the grill ,this is what happened to me.I had to unplug it right away and remove the fire box and remove all partially lit pellets.I wish there was a more permanent electrical connections to the grill at least on the Jim Bowie I don’t ever plan on moving this grill around.

They just came out with a heavier version of the power supply. If you have any trouble with yours, send support an email & they will send you a newer version.

I’m checking out the Daniel Boone, think it’s coming to my house sometime. This was very helpful, I am new to pellet smoking but my brother in-law got one and my wife was interested in one so heck yeah. I’m more sure about my choice after watching this and thanks to you!

mike landry we bought one and soon discovered it was a total trash grill! Google search known issues such as high temperature spikes, paint issues, and other known gmg issues! Do yourself a favor and buy something else! Ours is a month old, and paint already is peeling, temp spikes 50-100 degrees high at times. Gmg is the only manufacture that won’t offer a refund!

Trash junk grills! Had one for a month and regret it ever since! The dealer was nice enough to take it back, but green mountain grill couldn’t figure out why I kept getting high temp spikes. Different firmware downloads, WiFi board swap out, temp sensor replacement! After all that they wouldn’t refund my money!

@@ramellin All pellet grills under $1,000 are made in China. GMG owns their own factory and put out a great product. We have hundreds of customers that agree. If you want American made, check out Pitts & Spitts that are hand welded in Houston, TX. They start at $1,749.
