    Wound healing is pretty good and realistic Yeah, ant heads even look kinda too big, but actually, make ant bite, and ripping body off really works And as maggots like the treatment of infection But worm curing kinda 50/50 because it like pop acne-leave weak point for microbes on your skin and on environment

    The wound left after pulling the worm out can get infected in-game; bandaging it and keeping yourself clean helps prevent infections. If the worms are left in, your sanity goes down, and (iirc) drains a small amount of your nutrients too. Idk about you, but the insanity effects are a bit too much for me, so having bandages and bones is an absolute must for me.

    The maggots are actually used in real life to clear necrotic tissue and infections by eating them, effectively cleaning the wound! Also, the heads from a specific species of ant are used in some parts of the world, they use the pointy bits to bring the skin together and then remove the ant body and the head stays with the pointy bits remaining closed. Would have been awesome if they had a full animation of the ant stitches! Such a shame they didn’t animate all the eating animations too!

    Same. Far Cry 2 needs a true, spiritual sequel. Incorporating some simple survival and maintenance mechanics into it would bring out the desperate feeling of not only fighting men but nature as well. Nearest town is too far away and you have no car, so your best bet is to set up camp and treat your wounds before they get infected. And as you prepare to sleep, you wonder if the noises out in the darkness are actually from enemies or just hallucinations caused by your character's low sanity because you've been doing contracts back to back with no breaks. Maybe hit the bar for a few drinks and card games to ease your mind. Maybe even the brothel if you have any dimes to spare. You're thirsty and hungry in the morning, but luckily your canteen has water in it and you still have rations. Otherwise you'd have to hunt. Guns make noise, and the fire you cook with attracts enemies who are no doubt looking for whoever destroyed their outpost. Your guns are messed up, nothing is ever new, not even the stuff the arms dealers sell. A proper new gun costs a fortune, and it can very well become an useless hunk of metal within it's first fight because enemy fire can hit and destroy it. You walk the thick rainforest until you reach a "civilian" settlement. Both sides of the war have a cease fire which could become meaningless at any moment. As a merc you have no side, you side with the money. Then a sudden pain hits your body. What is it this time? Malaria? Dysentery? Oh god, please don't let it be sleeping sickness. Or tetanus.

    Life Tip: DO NOT remove leeches in real life like you do in the game. Rather, apply salt or vinegar to the leech, which will cause it to fall of on their own. Or, leave them to fill with blood and let them fall off on their own (Optional: AFTER they fall off/you removed the leeches, burn them to stop them from reproducing). If you rip them off, you risk their teeth/jaw staying in your skin, causing further complications like infections or imbedding. After they fall off, disinfect, bandage and hope to god that you didn't catch some sort of disease while the sucker was still on you. PS: I might've messed some details up, so consult a doctor if you really find yourself in such a situation.

  • @joebennett9422

    @joebennett9422

    Burning them is also a poor idea. This will often cause the leeches to panic and quickly *regurgitate/vomit* the contents of their stomach back into you to quickly unlatch and escape which will almost certainly cause a nasty infection

    @@joebennett9422 I see where your confusion came from, so I clarified the comment a bit. I meant you burned the leeches AFTER they fell off on their own, so that you can stop the well-fed parasites from being a further burden on mammals.

    @@djketoldaluusbkabel585 isn't urine more amine acid than salt? Its structure is H2N =0= NH2. NH2 combined with one hydrogen from H2N creates ammonia. Are leeches deterred by ammonia too? I'm glad you made this video but not for the reason you might expect. When i first encountered the leeches where you have to remove them, i also knew there were spiders in the game and got really nervous by the thought of if you had to remove like a GIANT ass spider from your legs or arms aswell. Edit: Just found out real life spiders can't do that either, so hurray! They can't add this to the game.

    So, for those confused: For whatever reason, when you let an ant bite down on you, then remove the body? The head holds onto where it's bitten. So, in a survival situation, if you need something that'll hold the wound together, it's best to get something like an army or leaf-cutter ant, let it bite the flesh and bring it together, then disconnect the body from the head to turn the head into a makeshift staple!
