GREEN FIG PIE (green banana pie) || TERRI-ANN’S KITCHEN

Hey guys I just wanted to share this Tutorial on how to make my Green Fig (banana) Pie with You guys. As always the steps are very easy to follow and you really don’t need any kitchen experience to be able to pull this off. Ingredients List

6-8 green figs (green banana)
1 tsp oil (to put in banana when boiling)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp complete seasoning
1 tbs butter
1 half onion diced
1/2 cup parsely chopped
3-4 pimento peppers (can use bell peppers)
1/2 cup whole or evaporated milk
1/2 cup grated cheese and extra for the top
1.Cut off both ends of the green banana and boil for 20 minutes with 1 tsp oil.
2.Drain and allow to cool slightly.
3.Once cooled peel off the skin and mash until smooth.
4.Add in chopped onions, spring onions, black pepper, pimento peppers, complete seasoning, milk and cheese and mix gently.
5.Transfer to a baking dish and bake for 25 minutes on 180•C uncovered.
6.When time is up, remove from allow and allow to cool at least 15-20 minutes before cutting to prevent it from falling apart. Serve as a side to your main meal or on its own. Enjoy!

    I add grated carrots, and red and green bell peppers to mine; I like to have this pie with stewed chicken or saltfish brule jhol; very delicious!

    I slit my fig down the middle and I use tongs to separate the fig from the skin....this I way I don’t have to wait for the fig to cool down and it mashes easier.....makes it very smooth. I add tuna to it as well or on rare occasions seasoned ground beef. One of my faves! U can do the same with dasheens, tania or yellow yams 😋

    @@marcellinetoussaint6971 me and fig have issues lol….I always end of having a cut under my thumb, no matter what I do....under water, oil, gloves…so now depending on what I’m making it I boil it in its skin. Or I slit it and had it sit in hot water for 5-10 minutes and the skin peels with very little effort. I boil in the skin for fig pie and soak in hot water for soups and braffs.
