What evidence of genocide do you have? Do you know that the Israel has unprecedentedly low civilian to combatant deaths ratio in the Gaza conflict ? They even call the Gazans to vacate building before bombing it. And they bomb only military targets? Did you know that it’s often “civilians” including women who hold hostages? Do you equally condemn the Gaza government and hamas for bombing Israel indiscriminately? Do you condemn Palestinian civilians who participate in the atrocities? Do you think that Hamas or Islamic Jihad care who they kill when firing at the Israelies.

If Israel is committing genocide, how come that the Palestinian population has been booming. Genocide also requires a genocidal intent. Collateral casualties are unfortunate but not genocide. Show me a War without civilian casualties. The best way to not have civilians die in war is to live peacefully and productively.. and mainly don’t start wars. Don’t take hostages.

The last guy in the video had a point. Hamas does not represent the Palestinians. Nobody wants a war, peace must prevail and people live in one (as a communal) or a divided country, with equal rights. The Israelis should stop playing the religious card with 'the chosen people' and come in terms with the Palestinians. If only both sides could trully respect each other, free from ideologies that bear hatred, then they could cooperate on a human base and develop a strong relationship. This is in fact their true power. A gift to humanity.

@@jimbob7924 Jews from all over the world are linked to Moroccan Jews. Palestinians are Arabs who came from Arabs lands after 1880. It is the Bedouins who have been there since the 7th C. Rome named the area Philistina after the Greek Philistines who were the enemy of the Hebrews but they were long gone when Rome renamed it this. It is the Canaanites who lived on the land for thousands of yrs and they not only spoke Hebrew, had the same architecture, utensils and hair styles but also the same God, El. They are the same! Ashkenazic Jews' DNA can be traced to Israel. We now know that when Rome invaded and the Hebrews fled, some went N (the majority of Israelis though are Sephardic or Mizrahi and became refugees from Arab land, being kicked out in the 1940s- over 850,000 Jews became refugees). The ones who went N started the Ashkenazic group and kept Judaism. I think before you start making things up about the Phoenicians, you should study history. Your post is ridiculous.

That is a strange reason to make a judgement. While a cross is generally a symbol for some Christians (not all) it is also a symbol used "in fashion". Btw.People who call themselves Christian are not all authentic followers. While the majority of Christians support Israel, others are mistakenly supporting the terrorism of Hamas thinking they are supporting the people of Gaza from a humanitarian viewpoint. Loss of life on both sides of any conflict is tragic, and there are people dying in wars happening around the world right now, not just Israel/Gaza. However the world needs reminding the terrorist Hamas (who the "Palestinian" people of Gaza - voted as their government in 2006), started this war with their barbaric slaughter of innocents, rape and kidnappings, in Israel on 7 October 2023. Nearly 8 months later and more than 100 of those kidnapped are still held by Hamas. Only they know how many are still alive, if any. Hamas is 100% responsible for all the suffering in Gaza.

As a Greek, I feel ashamed of my compatriots' indifference and ignorance towards international geopolitical events. Living close to one of the most conflict-ridden regions of the world, and at the same time, facing a geopolitical challenge since immemorial time (Greco-Turkish antagonism), leaves no room and no justification for "blissful ignorance". But I guess that's what you get, when the majority of Greeks have shallow interests that revolve around sports, low quality entertainment and gossiping. The apple fell very far away from the tree (Ancient Greeks)...
As a greek native, I have to say there is a DRAMATIC change in people's view on Israel/Palestine since the last decade. To make it short: in 2009 Gaza war maybe over than 90% of population as well as media were pro-palestinian. The prostests which often became violent were so ubiquitous as if Israel was bombimg Greece, not Gaza. In 2014 war there was not much change. Now, for reasons that varie, one could say a very big part of greeks, have turned into pro-Israelis, though still a lot still support Palestine no matter what. (majority of them are left-wingersand then followr the extreme far-right and also religious conservatives). The same goes for the media. You don't see any more these antisemitic caricatures that were the nor in the 90's except for some garbage newspappers full of conspiracy theories and fake news. I can not say if pro-Israelis now make a majority over the ''anti-Zionists'' but sure they first goup will not go out to protest, stick posters on walls and make so much noise in the social media.

The people usually found in the centre of Athens are not representative of the average Greek person. Greece was traditionally an ally of Arafat during the socialist governments but since the change in power, there are strong ties with Israel and recognition of the need of a Palestinian state. Greek people are also quite politicised and tend to follow their parties political line, which is not very good. People who are more educated understand the complexity but stand with Israel. Greece knows what Islam is all about after 400 years of Turkish occupation and Kemal’s destruction of Smyrna who left 700,000 Greeks dead and 1 million displaced. Whoever Erdogan supports is the Greek’s enemy. Erdogan is dreaming of a renewed Ottoman Empire and openly supports Hamas, who have similar dreams of an Islamic caliphate. Well, the point with "Israel is stronger" is (in my opinion) the fact that one side has much more capabilities and therefore more responsibilities in solving the conflict than the other. Both sides are to blame historicaly, but one cant deny the fact that the power balances are highly uneven. After the US had defeated the Germans, it was also their responsibility to build up the defeated in order of a safe and prosperous future for the region. At least that is expected from a western democracy with high moral standards.

So just because thousands of Germans died during the end of World War Two, the Nazi Germans werent the cause of all of this? Thanks to the U.S Germany got stabilized. Just because thousands of Palestinians died, they werent the cause of October 7th? Attributing blame solely based on casualties isn't a fair assessment of the situation. The massive casualties suffered by the Germans at the end of the war didn't absolve the Nazi regime of responsibility for their actions, and yes, it matters here that the U.S was the stronger force, the casualties suffered by Palestinians don't necessarily absolve them of responsibility for their actions on October 7th, and it is good that the Israelis have the stronger force here too.

My dude in Greece? Enjoy your holiday there ! As a Greek myself could say that people in Greece stand in the middle ground. Let's say that we like both people but at the same moment we dislike Hamas and Bibi. Of course there are political parties and people with strong opinions with pro and anti arguments.

“The actions of the Palestinian Movement in October 7 are neither a terrorist attack nor an anti-Semitic attack, but an act of armed resistance and an uprising after decades of colonization.” ~ Judith Butler, American philosopher "like the violence against African-Americans that followed slave revolts in the 19th century, ‘’The Israeli vengeance against Palestinians won't be remembered fondly by anyone in the future, when people think of Israel in the past they thought of it as a refuge for the victims of the Holocaust... now they will think of it as the home of perpetrators of genocide. When they think of Israel, they will think of burned buildings and dead babies, it strips Israel of its protection by charges of antisemitism against anyone who is critical of Israel because to be critical of people who are carrying out genocide cannot be antisemitism, it cannot be considered immoral. Antisemitism is a despicable attitude." ~ Chas Freeman, former Assistant Secretary of Defense and former US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. "I remember an incident that happened at Al-Shifa Hospital, which was bombed, This happened in November 2023, The obstetrics department was bombed, causing many deaths, Among those killed were four pregnant women about to give birth. Doctors delivered the dead pregnant women by cesarean section and rescued the newborns, Less than an hour later, Israeli occupation forces arrived and kidnapped the four newborns, carried them and left. The next day, the four newborns were found dead in an empty lot." - Khaled Benboutrif French doctor returning from his humanitarian mission at the European hospital in the Gaza Strip (testimony before French senators). " This is a war of a well trained and armed army against women and children." ~ President Lula De Silva of Brazil on the Genocide in Gaza
Since you survey Greek people but you didn't run into me in Athens, let me tell you what I think as well. Re the first part of your question, I side with the Palestinians, of course. Re the second part of your question, I think: A. either the Israeli state should not exist at all, and Jewish people should live peacefully in the Palestinian state, or, B. If an Israeli State must necessarily exist, then it should not be located in the middle east. Actually, it should be either the US that gives away a part of its land to its beloved Israel, or Germany, which would also allow Germany to rid itself of its holocaust collective guilt. In both cases it's a win-win.

1st point. Jews to live in a muslim state , this will go according to plan i'm sure. 2nd point. prior to 1948 when the jews started to build the state the territory was a dessert with minor agriculture and no industrial or any infrastacture. After 80 years they should just pack their bags and go, leaving all to the muslims that have attacked them ?

@@user-fv3vq8hn8t she said jews can live peacefully in a Palestinian state. So no, she is not telling to pack. These are lies that modern Israel soil was inhabited. There were hundreds of villages and there were cities. Hundreds of villages were destroyed and 800k Palestinian people were forced to leave, only because the western world said it is time to move the European jews to that soil in the Levant. The Palestinians didn’t asked the foreign zionists to remove them. A Greek should know how it feels to forcefully get removed from your ancestral soil where your ancestors have lived for thousands of years. Why do I say thousands of years? It is proven that Palestinians are indigenous to that soil. They are descended from the Hebrew people who turned muslim. Same as dozens of Greeks turned muslim and became Turks. Their descendants are now mostly in Turkey.

The information that has been released to the world about the atrocities committed by Israel against massive numbers of innocent people, especially children, is no longer a matter of opinion. I am disappointed by my compatriots, allthough i understand that they are somehow afraid to voice their opinion especially if they work in turism. Traditionally Greeks were pro palestinian. Greece was the first european country to recognize PLO. Greek ships were sent to evacuate Arafat from Beirut in 1981. Amongst elderly peopke that is still the case. But as years passed we were told that we have a 'strategic' relation with Israel, and many people take that seriously. In any case i find that ignoring this unprecedented horrendus slaughterhouse is unacceptable and makes me sad. @@DownMemoryLaneParis I’d rather have an Israel run government than hamas. Don’t you all see the difference? Please don’t tell me oh because they’re not allowed to have this or that by Israel. That’s bollocks. You want to live in a state where instead of your government building more schools, more tourist spots, helping citizens with more healthcare benefits, teaching their kids at school to be good humans, to respect people from different religions, you know just like what Jesus taught many to do, I mean in general, to better their citizens lives instead of living and growing up in hate. Look at some of the blacks in America, always with victim mentality. So what happened to their kids, they grow up to be murderers and thieves and blame others for treating the ancestors badly. Past is past, we go forward if we want to advance in life. My great grandfather was beheaded by the Japanese when they colonised our land. Do I hate the Japanese? No. In fact I love them and visit their beautiful country. I better myself and make myself smart so I can survive in this hard world. No excuses. Hamas is only interested to kill off the Jews and I’m never gonna support that!
Hi Corey. I guess you are on a vacation in Greece ; good for you ! It is really nice to see this being a Greek myself and subscriber of yours. I do think that you can find a Greek denying Israel's right to exist. Usually Greeks tend to be sympathetic towards Palestinians being considered the weak ones in the conflict. Let me also inform you that Greece delayed to officially recognize Israel (early 90's) this was due to having strong ties with Arab world (wanting their votes in UN resolution in favor of Cyprus) and not really against Israel. However, the last decade or more Greece and Israel have a very tight cooperation and alliance so the tide has changed (especially after the turkish ship incident trying break Gaza blockade which ruined the Israel - Turkey relations; an enemy of my enemy becoming my friend ...) Moreover, in my opinion the more informed a person is in the conflict the more likely is to be pro Israel (except radical left) PS Thanks again for your work !
