The Russian tank shown at the very end is JS-2 and was not even developed yet when the battle of Stalingrad took place.

The Germans didn't have that model Panzer 4 during Stalingrad, The Panzer 3 with the 50mm was still the main battle tank of the German forces.

Wasn’t that tank at the very end the Russian vet claimed to personally have driven at Stalingrad.. an IS-2?

Often this video states that nothing could stop the Nazis from winning the entire Eastern front if Stalingrad fell. I'm not so sure about that.

Resources lost by Russia and gained by Germany is the factor... none the less... ain't nobody stopping the USA.... also have to remember a huge amount of resources is defending western Russia from the Japs at this time too.

If they had taken Stalingrad their flank would have been secure and they would have cut the Soviets off from the Volga (where most lend lease supplies arrived) and 90% of their oil supply. There is no guarantee the Nazis would have won had they taken Stalingrad but they would have the advantage. In a long war Germany stood no chance. They just didn't have the industrial capacity for a war of attrition.

The voice and pesentation is very focused on dramatic effect, but i agree they are taking poetic licence by saying that! The same production house presents air battles , i am knowledgable about the performance envelopes of the ww-2 fighter aircraft and they clearly fib by spinning a story thay a p-51 could outclimb and outturn a bf-109! ,it could ourun a 109 until the 109's changed that with WM injection and the later K model, climbing esp was not the 51's strong suit, yet they present the video saying it is,they are shamelessly factually incorrect for the sake of dramatic story telling!

This is 1942 right? If so i think panzer 4 production is going into full swing. And if that is to be true, the panzer 3 would only be used for Stug 3 G production. As well as "plug the gap" armor. Edit: (Please comment if you can provide more info on this).

How hopeless it was. Minus 40 during winter, oil was frozen in weapons. Soviets would mix diesel and oil for lube

What was the point of taking the heap of rubble on the Volga called Stalingrad ,when the river trafic (which was the alledged significance of taking the city) could have been cut further down or up river without getting into such a nightmarish battle of attrition! But i think the man with the Charlie Chaplin moustache wanted to prove a point after failing at the gates of Moscow!

The T-34 a brilliant mix of mobility, armor , and firepower it may have been. Ergonomically it was a nightmare. Poor optics, poor training, and poor tactics caused heinous losses.

That's funny how they'll admit the 88, artillery peas could make swiss cheese out of the KVs. I am pretty sure the tiger tanks carry the 88. Just saying...................

The 88 could indeed turn the KV into Swiss cheese but the truth is they didn't have any during the battle, the main battle tank of the period was the Mk3 which was armed with the long 50mm and the Mk 4 which was armed with the short 75 neither of these were a match for the T34 armed with a high velocity 76mm .
