Greater Flamingo | Velavadar National Park | December 2023

Ойын-сауық

The greater flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus) is the most widespread and largest species of the flamingo family. The species is found across Eurasia and parts of Northern and Sub-Saharan Africa. The species resides in mudflats and shallow coastal lagoons with salt water. The primary threats to flamingo populations are bacteria, toxins, and pollution in water supplies, which is usually run-off from manufacturing companies, and encroachment on their habitat.
