Imagine coming from a long line of seals that probably weren't eaten by sharks, only to end up being the failson (or daughter) that was eaten by one. (All because he or she wanted to drop out of college to pursue a music career)
That was one big Great White, and also so amazing.
When that thing goes by you have second thoughts on trusting the railing on the boat.
All of the years growing up there through the 1960s I believe we only spotted one Great White going out of Pleasent Bay, when the Perfect Storm blew through the dune line at the Chatham CG Station, then the seals moved in and so did the sharks.
It was a rare opportunity to see such a magnificent creature up close. We did try to keep our distance though and were concerned about the risks you noted. Therefore, I had my family stay up on the flybridge of the vessel and out of harms way. Great view up there as well!
At least they took Sheriff Brody’s advice and got that bigger boat. Now Harry just needs to fix that hat.
I was actually on my own boat, out for a spin with my family on a beautiful day. We did expect to see some whales, but this was indeed a surprise! cheers

@Cody Mcconnell It's hard to tell if you're a Karen or a snowflake. Both? Anyway, you must really have such a pathetic life that you can find any reason to snivel and whine about this great video. If you don't like it, why did you click on it and watch it? What a dolt you are! You should go play in the water where that shark lives, lmao @ you 😂🤣
Thankyou!! Thankyou!! Raw amateur footage of an apex predator in the wild. Brilliant!
Daddy, you said we could go swimming--you said, you said, you said.
That's a whopper of a shark at least a 16 footer 👌
That's about the tamest "shark attack" I've ever seen.
Great footage...nice calm day to see the details of the encounter....I wish like the young lady with her parents I and all other children could witness such a rare feat...lucky her...

@@imranh5395 What a snowflake!! This is what the internet allows to happen. Super-Stupid to open mouth and puke out whatever drivel they can and expect they are powerful because they can hide behind their keyboard and talk like they are brave. You punk are just another loud mouth that means absolutely nothing to anyone!! Now that you have been called out and bested, what have you got to say for yourself? If I'm right and you are just a punk, then come back at me with some lame assed comment proving I'm right. If I'm wrong, then shut the fuck up and go away and we'll never hear from you again!
Why does it look like the seal was on a line and used as bate to get some footage?
Wow, amazing video.
I wondered why he was leaving that piece on the top? Could it be as bait to attract seagulls to catch a fresh meal?

No, that was supposed to feed later
Wow, so cool. How did you catch this- were you on a whale watch?
Not an “ attack “ drama fools. It’s Eating a seal.
That is not a seal, that is a carcass.
bit its head off while alive in the beginning it appeared
Nice the observers were respectful. I hate hearing folk whooping cheering etc.
E incrível a paciência do bicho comeu encheu a barriga e continua seguindo os restos da presa nadando em círculos pra fazer digestão e comer o que sobrou eles vão seguindo e quem quiser que vá mexer pra virar refeição.
Why do I get recommended this 8 yr old vid ?
and its just legal to swim there this is a strange world
Seal. it's what's for dinner.
Wow, how fortunate was that for you and your family/friends to witness! We went out last summer, this time we towed the boat all the way to Chatham just so we can get a glimpse of these impressive creatures but all we saw were quite a few seal colonies (and they were all sunning on land lol) and all the transmitting buoys they have set up now as they have quite a few sharks tagged and they're researching their movements and traveling and whatever else. There was a few of those set up here and there but not a single shark. Oh well. It's one of those things where you just gotta be at the right place at the right time.
This is why we have swimming pools.
Awesome!
Na u only start to worry when the sharks is bigger then the boat but beside that here leave u alone.
And, I've swam there from time to time but did n't know about any sharks cruising around in that area. But now, you can be sure I'll stay on shore!...
A white shark is not going to go out of his way to jump onto a boat. They are drawn to humans in the water because they look like marine mammals or darting fish (the flash of white from a swimmers hands or feet). If a shark was to jump onto a boat, it most likely happens because the boat is too close and it is attacking its prey (seal, fish, whale). I don't think they went out knowing a white shark was attacking, they (including the daughter) were most likely there already.
Just a shark doing normal shark stuff that sharks do.
Great Video...Thanks'
I'm never swimming in MA again! GAH!
It's amazing how far these sharks travel in their lifetime, all the way up to Hawaii and over to Australia. Hunting seals would definitely give them plenty of protein.

And in Australia if a shark kills a person guess what the shark dies which is wrong in my books.
Акула - это воплощенный ужас из кошмарных глубин....
Damn that thing is big!
They like that blubber gum.
Actually you're not supposed to be so close you will get ticketed and fined now
Nature. Survival of the fittest. Humans. Devolution.
Taking kids out in the car is dangerous too. Hell, if i was sailing there with my kids and saw this I would have been looking at it too.
bitches be gigglin', bitches gon get eaten- terry crews
You're kidding right??? Jump on the deck of a boat to attack people??? Pounce. That has to be a joke!
Shark 🦈 real matatan 🦈
Can we please see more video of sharks doing things other then just eating things towed behind a boat? It would be like if someone was studying humans and all they did was monitor Tacobell.
You guys are lucky and imagine if you saw it breach and kill the seal it’s where the shark leaps out of the water to grab the seal
He can still make it, all he has to do is just believe...in himself...and anything is possible.
And humans are in humane
More like, the shark eats the rest of the seal

Christian 78 Most likely. Most of the time the Seal is pretty much dead after the first bite. The Great White has a very powerful bite force.

Tell it to this seal
aemptypage2 LOL! Be quiet and don't be so egomaniacal to the point where you're gonna tell this individual who took this great footage and had his family with him on the boat whom you don't know at all and call him irresponsible with his kids! The nerve of people like you. Know-it-alls is what you're called and in fact you know nothing based on that stupid, ill-founded assumption you made with hardly enough evidence of someone you don't even know! My gosh. Get a life. And to the author of this video, great job and thank you for bringing such a great moment for us to enjoy. I could only dream of having my family on my boat to experience such a thing. We tried, this summer as I trailered my boat from the North Shore all the way to Truro so we can get her in the water and get a spot like that. What calm waters, too. But we hit a brick wall with nothing. Next year we'll try to get closer to Chatham since that seems to be the hotspot. Cheers.
this is good footage but you need to be careful. some sharks have been known to jump up on boats and attack people. it is kind of irresponsible to bring your daughter out there knowing the shark may pounce on the boat.

That has got to be the most stupid comment out of this whole thread!! Now if you had said the shark was going to come up on the beach and chase you with a club, that might have been more realistic, but to say jump in the boat and "pounce" on anyone is just really showing your total lack of intelligence. You should go back to your video games where everything is real.
