As for your unsolicited accusation that I'm "wrong," I've said nothing about the origin of rock. I said if there's ever going to be a Soul Hall of Fame, I guarantee you will not see any rock acts inducted (nor should there be). The RRHOF has blurred the lines so ridiculously (all in the name of pandering, IMO) that a simple name-change to the Music Hall of Fame would justify everything. Why bother ranting?? Anyone with any sense knows that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Rolling Stone magazine, and Jann Wenner are a joke. Induction is absolutely meaningless now.

I know that in America Thin Lizzy is only known for one maybe two songs. The thing is that they made amazing ROCK music. I wish they could get in somehow

The Hall is an absolute joke. Half the inductees didn't even show up, and there was hardly any speeches give. Nobody even bothered! A waste! Jimmy Page and Elton John were about the only worthy moments. Frampton only showed up for Sheryl Crow because she asked him to. It was a waste of a year. Horrible....Missy Elliot got all the attention because she's a black female rapper. Meanwhile, Foreigner, ELP, Frampton, Warren Zevon....the list goes on of who gets snubbed. An absolute joke. Shut the damn thing down. Trying to appeal to the crowd that doesn't even watch the thing. And its on Disney+? PLEASE..... Eddie is the only one who gets more unnerved about this than me lol

Brian Downey a awesome drummer who has been such a influence to so many, Darren Wharton on keyboard who injected a new sonic sound for Lizzy in the 80s , and finally the man himself Philip Paris Lynott a black man of mixed race raised in Dublin Ireland in a time that if you were black and Irish in Ireland you really did stand out, Philip dispite all the racism he used it to his advantage and became poet, songwriter, and musician eventually forming his own band Thin Lizzy , 12 studio albums,live albums, 2 solo albums ,tours around the world countless great songs, that so many American listeners have yet to experience ( lucky you) to sum up Phil Lynotts Thin Lizzy was the FIRST Irish ROCK Band to come for Ireland, the second black artist to front a rock band other than Phil's hero Jimi Hendrix, if Thin Lizzy is only to be remembered by the American people for the boys are back in town, just remember how many times you hear that song in movies, adverts, cartoon's ,on the radio and at your local bar and just remember this song Phil wrote was for every American young man going out on a Friday night with his band of brothers to chase the girls and have good time. I have lived in the greater cleveland ohio area my whole life, I will be 60 soon, I went to all the ralleys & fundraisers to get the rock hall in Cleveland, for reasons such as this & many others, motorhead, iron maiden etc... that I have never set foot ,& never will , in that sacrilegious shit hole

Yes! I agree. Iron Maiden has been on tour almost every year since the late 70's til now with original members since Number of the Beast. They are an Amazing band! So terrible they been passed up for all these years. Really Ridiculous.

So spot on! Peter Frampton is one of the greatest guitar players of the last half century. Way beyond Frampton Comes Alive, his guitar work has always been tasty, innovative, and pure rock n roll. Just listen to Greens. Guitar work that touches your soul. Someone should start a “True Rock n Roll Hall of Fame” where great rock musicians actually get inducted!

It's a brilliant move by Frampton, because it'll put him on the rock n roll hall of fame radar, and he'll probably get nominated next year. He's playing ball to get in.

The HOF was never about Rock & Roll. From the beginning it was about diversity. They defend their choices on the basis of the nominees' influence and innovation. Fans care about one thing - entertainment. The Hall doesn't care about the entertainment factor when it comes to Rock & Roll, which is why they can ignore so many great bands.

Simply, rrhof is a cheesy tourist trap. It has nothing to do with honoring musical contributions, it's about selling tickets to the masses. Stay tuned for the Taylor Swift wing they'll add if they think it'll bring in more ticket sales...it's not that deep or complicated.

Tull is not in either, but my impressions of Ian Anderson, over the last 50 years, lead me to believe that he could care less.

The Hall has also screwed over Foreigner and Huey Lewis and the News. Both bands were eligible in the early 2000’s. They are a joke and I love Eddie’s rant here- well-deserved!

Steve Miller summed it all up about the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame a few years ago.

The crime is giving the rocknroll hall of bore the time of day. It's like if I started an F1 racing hall of fame and I've never watched a second of it or know anything about it. Now I'm the judge of F1 greatness.

Eddie mentioned that ridiculous Rolling Stone best guitarist list and the R&RHOF is no different. Their goal is to pretty much make every class as less white and male as possible. Its not a conspiracy theory. They bumped Eric Claption down some 30 slots from where he ranked in the 2003 list all because of his stance on pandemic politics (which they mention in his paragraph, so, they aren't even hiding their bias). 31 year old Molly Tuttle was on, a fine choice who they said was inspired by Tony Rice. Tony Rice himself, perhaps the best bluegrass guitarist ever and one of the hardest styles to play, is nowhere on the list. Chet Atkins, who while not as influential as Jimi Hendrix would become, is probably the best guitarist ever and he ranked 39 and you know for a fact that if Chet were a black transexual then he'd be #1 on that list but instead they just defaulted to Hendrix again since no such great guitarist who checks those boxes for them in available.

It would take a hostile takeover to abolish the Nominee Committee and the Voting Body, so the Fan Vote systems (online ballot, in-person kiosk, etc.) can be completely a hundred percent meaningful and free from being rigged again. The idea of the institution as a non-profit organization while being merit driven (except for the 25 year eligibility) both at once is dated and always have been dated in the first place cause the Hall is an amusement attraction for the general public that actually needs to be about consumerism and costumer service, ignoring the vocal minority on social media and in journalism. If you don’t give what the masses want first and foremost, then you fail and should be shut down like Disney and Bud Light.

I agree with this, but the problem has been happening for the last few years. The sad reality is there are not a lot of guitar based rock bands anymore, and it has been replaced by technology, hip hop and the like. I haven't seen this year's induction but watched last year and not a lot of guitar bands. I think part of the reason Judas Priest got in through musical excellence, outside of Pat Benatar, Duran Duran and maybe 1 or 2 other acts, it wasn't really rock. Yes, I have always considered both Pat Benatar and Duran Duran rock because they are and both acts always had strong guitarists.
