Even the plain-jane 1969S penny is becoming quite scarce. I recently went through about $150 of 1960-1981 pennies, and I only found about 50 - 1969S pennies. That is after I have been collecting copper pennies from pocket change for about 30 years.

How do you verify? And how do you know that the grading company doesn't rip you off, switch it out and say yours is worthless??

Hi! I watched one of your videos about this penny a year or so ago and I went and cashed in a couple hundred dollars for penny rolls searching for one of these pennies and I found a total of 19 of them that I nearly positive were double die's however when I took them to the local coin store to get them verified the guy working there told me that they were not double dies. I find it kind of peculiar how he's still offered to give me $40 cash for the 19 pennies that I had. That tells me that chances are they were or at least one of them was and he just didn't tell me. I took the money of course thinking $40 is way better than 19 cents however now I wish I hadn't I wish I would have got a second opinion. I'm going to continue my penny search for this Penny again when I get paid hopefully I'll have the same luck I had before! :-)

Sounds like you learned a valuable lesson. Just use the motto in all situations 3 estimates for such things like roof repair, house painting, car work, dental work, serious medical problems, cars, boats, motorcycle, etc
