The history on the Lick Creek is very cool! That purple bone is pretty epic. I think it looks kind of like an acrylic when it’s lying on the table.
The black delrin is the one I wanted. But I got the beer cub, so I'm happy. I thought the synthetic would be easier.

Being 15s were so hard to get I came to love the 14s for the similar pattern. But I've also had a horrible time trying to score any GEC this past year.
I like carrying a small sharp blade for using for small delicate use. It can be kept clean for use while having a larger knife for things that can leave residue on the blade hard to get off. Different types of wood may tend to expand and contract more than other woods. A little room for the wood to do this is a good idea. I think this why ebony was popular for knife makers to use. It was very stable in its natural form and did not have much too any problems expanding or shrinking. Depending on how the wood is dried and then finished is difficult to judge. The wood may have fit without any gaps and then shrank after it was put on the knife. An old fence post made into knife covers is a risky endeavor.🤔
