Great American Scream Machine front seat on-ride 5K POV @60fps Six Flags Over Georgia

This legendary John C. Allen designed PTC (Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters, Inc.) out-and-back woodie opened in 1973 as the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster at a height of 105 feet (32m) and speeds of 57 mph (92 km/h).
Did you know that the Great American Scream Machine operated with two trains comprised of four cars with three benches until the 2018 season when the the trains were replaced with those from the Georgia Cyclone when it was converted to the Twister Cyclone?
Six Flags Over Georgia is located near Atlanta in Austell, Georgia.

this was my favorite ride as a kid, when i was too scared to ride anything else. i couldn't ride it as much as i had wanted to because i couldn't ride without a parent, and the scream machine is infamous for messing up your back once you reach a certain age. the first time i rode it i was so scared that i couldn't scream at all. i let out a little noise at the scariest part and from then on the scream machine became the only thing i wanted to ride. i haven't been back to six flags since, but i would love to pay the scream machine another visit.

Gonna be honest here…my fav ride in the world and I’m 44 and rode it as soon as I was big enough…used to have season passes every year….rode it a million times…and I rode it yesterday …I saw no difference except the brakes. To me it was the same as always and just as good and I actually forgot just how good it is…even though I knew it’s my fav coaster. I just didn’t see a difference but at the same time…I didn’t want it different. I’m sure I missed a small detail like maybe I came out of my seat more back in the day….but either way…it felt just as rough but I love it that way. Goliath for instance is a good one…but too damn smooth.

I remember riding TGASM when it was brand new, I think it "invented" the riders holding their arms UP the entire ride. The last time I rode was probably 20 years or so ago and it was a rougher and slower ride due to the worn (?) "square" wheels on it. Still is a classic coaster Oh and I see that the "back up" wooden control levers have been removed

Just came from there yesterday, I noticed no such difference lol. It still beats you up and is still pretty rough. Don't know where this talk of a re track came from but if it is true it didn't do much. The most noticeable difference is a slower brake at the end compared to the old fast stop. But even yesterday when I went it's not as smooth in the video. Instead, you get like 90% of a break then a slow train move to the station around the corner where you finish breaking.

Wow, in all my years as a Kid we had Season Passes... This was one of my favorite rides.... But as the years went by Six Flags became so crowded it was no longer fun. Used to wait an hour to ride this coaster... Last time I went was 2002 and it was miserable, all day just a few rides... When you gotta wait over an Hour for the Monster Plantation (Mansion now) it was not fun. How was it that no one was in line as your train came into the station? What? I never saw that in all my years.... It would be worth the price of admission to have that experience! Have not been since 2003 but still think this is one of the best Wooden Coasters I have ever been on! I like the rougher side to wooden coasters! But I'm a Wooden Coaster Enthusiast!

It's the trains. They aren't the native trains to the coaster. The trains on there now are from the old Georgia Cyclone which required the tighter fitting lap bars. The old trains had a lap bar that did actually come down on your legs and allowed you to float out of your seat.
