Gravity Glue 2016
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
6th edition of my annual Gravity Glue series...
Showing video highlights from my recent year (2016) of balancing rocks in a variety of locations around the world, including: USA, Croatia, China, Turkey, New Zealand, Spain, and Iceland.
Nomadic Earth Art..?
All structures were balanced with my two hands, documented, then taken down when finished. . .
Each structure took maybe an average of 3 hours to complete? including finding rocks, and puzzle solving toward a 'beautiful and elegant solution'. some take minutes. others, days of contemplation, sometimes frustration, and/or simply feeling through the zero points.
The most intriguing aspect for me is the variety of stone families around the world. fractal style. a whole climate system may have a similar thread of rock families, but within that climate, each creek, each cove, becomes distinct from the rest. even down to smaller nooks and pockets in each. infinite complexity -- infinite possibility.
There's not really any storyline, plot, or whatever to this film..as usual. it is simply a sequence of some favorite clips i recorded while balancing as a way of life...

Love the birds at 2:00 staring in absolute awe.
Michael I do not know how to express how impressed I am by your unique creativity.. You have a special imprint in this art ... all my respect for you
You must be a real master, considering the enormous spinning of the earth.
I just now saw this rock stacking art on Ripley's new show. This is the most beautiful thing I have ever experienced. Absolutely Amazing.
👍Aaaah...Alan Watts rock balancing ....the perfect match...I knew I loved you before I ever met you. Absolutely awesome! Thank you for the blessing. 🤗💞🤗
Mesmerizing !! Wonderful. Beautifully Crafted video. Awesome
The moment when the body takes over and the hands just move away and the rock are standing , is an awesome feeling

IAmaPersion yes lots of animals do in fact but many people can’t rock balance or even know about rich balancing so that is a good thing!
Thanks Michael...
@2:01 even the bird is amazed!!! 😍💞
Easily my favourite video of the year so far
Simply amazing. Michael as I watch your videos I ask myself how evident it is that "balance" is merely temporal. Outstanding videography and editing. The art you deliver is just screaming at me......cant explain.... I love it.
Beyond Awesome - 'Awesomating'.... That's AWESOMATING
incredible patience to be careful to balance these stones ... especially on a ball that spins more than eight hundred and one hundred kilometers an hour
this video deserves millions of views
WOW, ARTE EFIMERO CRAK....Hasta los pajaros admiran tus obras..gracias Kam.peon

Magnifique avec une patience hors norme.....Bravo..... ;-)
Congrats on your work, man. I saw your videos and started trying to do something around a place I have in the mountains. I posted a few pics of what I was able do on my IG. That's a really beautiful kind of therapy to cut the stress. Again, congrats!
This is amazing
Amazing!!
outstanding!
So cool!
Hi guy, you make a remarcable work and I really appreciate this moment of calm on your structure at the end, maybe should you put a format like this of many structures
this rock stacking is very addictive...you wont be able to go anywhere without thinking about stacking every rock you see!
I love your art work sir 🙏🏼
HOW DO YOU DO THIS? Is there any gathering, eliminating, any trying again to it? How did you start doing this? As a little boy, what?! Amazing to watch! More people should see this!
I'd definitely buy a calendar if you made one!

I need to ask 🙃 why take them down again? Beautiful video and art 🙂 Namaste 🏵️
Bonjour, très belle vidéo😍 peut-on copier le lien pour partager ?😉
99% of these I look at and go "how the heck is this possible"
how long did it take you to do one of these?
why do you take them down afterwards?

several reasons... 1: if i leave it up, it feels like a "loose end", i prefer to dismantle myself. i prefer to know how it collapses, etc.. 2: depending on location can be a safety concern (curious humans/kids). 3: leave no trace. 4: to limit photographic access/copyright to my camera (in general). these reasons fluctuate depending on location... some places i just leave everything up cuz the spot is already so inaccessible to mini humans.. also simply to leave random notes of magic for the next.. i usually only leave them if they are completely self-erasing upon collapse... or if i know the tide will take em over night... not a fan of old stumps of rocks left behind...

Очень сложные конструкции. В них красота с элементами страха
Wich craft
FORBAN !
fuck. you haven't posted anything for two years and now you upload 12 videos in one day... dose!
why do you take them down? legal issues? wasn't it you that some jackass cop tried to arrest for rock stacking, years ago? freakin idiots man. your work is stunningly gorgeous, and i think it would be an absolute THRILL to randomly come across whilst out hiking

thanks!.. depends on the location for when and why i take em down.. sometimes near people traffic.... can be a safety issue.. and/or photographic copyright issue in tourist areas. also simply to minimize footprint. i enjoy knowing how they collapse... closing the loop.. in rare cases and locations i leave them be. ya it was me and cops in boulder, almost exactly 2 years ago.
Maybe you are a reincarnation of an ancient zen master from china or tibet... :) How do you think?
