Thanks for this rusty did a similar loop, last autumn - great spot. Please keep, posting as I’ve fallen off and broken a bone in the hip so am perforce off the bike for the foreseeable. Your trip to Glens Tromie and over the Feschie awaits😀
I have to say that even though D&G and Aberfoyle aren’t that far away from me I much prefer anything above Highland Perthshire totally different atmosphere. Possibly because I prefer a variety of surfaces and nothing can touch it for scenery and wildlife.
We are the people behind the Gralloch and Raiders - Galloway Cycling Holidays: drop us a line next time and we can show you around.

Great route. I’ve yet to dip my toe fully into Dumfries and Galloway gravel. Bought my previous gravel bike from one of the forest wardens 👍
Great video again rusty!

Glad you enjoyed it
What a great route. Your video really makes me want to go there. Good that you're using quality acoustic guitar music rather than 'bangers' haha.
That looked stunning but I have to stand up for the Northern Highlands. There’s loads and much of it can be done on a touring bike. See the Highland Trail 550 and the Pictish Trail for ideas.

I know, I was generalising for dramatic effect. I apologise for the slanderous statement.
Glad to see you're back, great video. You're right about tyre choice, I tried riding round there on my CX bike with 35mm tyres, it didn't end well! You definitely need at least 40mm tyres like you say and set up tubeless. Some very chunky gravel in places.
Another fantastic video, I've been thinking about travelling up there from the lake district to do part of or all of the Gralloch route and this has swayed me to do it! Looks very picturesque, hope I get the same weather you did!

It's a great area to ride!
You were on parts of The Gralloch race route. About 2000 people are entered, including me. I did it last year and it’s a tough course. Those large stoned gravel roads are fast but rough. Lots of people punctured last year, so your recommendation of at least 40mm or more tyres is a good one. There is almost a central reservation of a heap of gravel that can be tricky to cross from one lane to the other.

That sounds hectic!
Great video! People going the other way could have been doing a recce of the Gralloch route. It's a huge gravel race, part of the world gravel series, coming up in a few weeks time.

Aha! Good shout.
It's a shame you can't persuade Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple to allow you to use their music royalty-free for your videos 😅but leaving the blandness of freebie music aside, this was a real gem. Proves that it's not just the Highlands that have stunning scenery.
if i wanted to do 1 nights wild camp on route where would you park the car for the night.

I am not certain but I think the car park I used in Gatehouse of Fleet is OK for overnight parking. Also you might be able to park at the Big Water Of Fleet Viaduct but I am not 100% sure of that.
Hi I’m Up there to do this route in about 6 weeks, is there good parking in Gatehouse Fleet.. ?? Great Video as always.. Colin.

There is a car park right in the center which is free. There is also parking at the big water of Fleet aqueduct. It's a great area!

Thank you. Means I can get straight on with the gravel when I get there.. thank you again
Love your videos. If you want to try something different, I’d watch you do a review of the kit that you use. Nothing better than to hear from someone testing kits in the real world and not pushing shilled products

Thanks for the tip. I'll just quickly change from an English accent to one more appropriate.
Sounds like there is someone talking over the music.
