Hey! Great recipe, just finished making it, started with 4 lbs of Concord grapes. How long does it last in the fridge ?

Thanks! Glad you like it😊 If you skip the canning process It will last for only 5 to 10 days. After that the quality or flavor decline and may develop mold. You can also freeze for up to 3 months (best quality). Canned last for up to 6 months in the refrigerator after opening according to ask.usda.gov/s/article/How-long-can-you-store-jelly#:~:text=The%20ideal%20storage%20time%20for,opening%2C%20refrigerate%20for%206%20months.

Hi, Yes you can. I used the grapes that going bad and soft grapes.
Thank you for this video. I’ve been wondering what to do with my Concord grapes that I am growing in my yard. There aren’t a lot of them but I don’t like fighting the seeds when I’m eating them fresh off the vine. I’m gonna try this recipe.

Get a manual food mill pop the skins off boil the pulp until it softens and put it in the food mill with a small sieve and it’ll be quicker than this. Then put the pulp in a pan with the skins and add sugar accordingly to whatever recipe you are making. This is ridiculous 🤷♀️ I’m working on 10 gallons of grapes and this would take forever

@@MaricelsRecipes unfortunately, when I went out to harvest my grapes, I have found that they were all eaten and I think it was an opossum that I saw in my yard one evening. Maybe next year.

@user-jw6 Good point. Thank you for your comment. That is why I only made 8oz of jam😄 It will take me forever if I will make 10 gallons😆. What I suggest is to use a food mill, blender, or food processor if you want to grind the grape seeds or eat the seeds with the grape's pulp. Use this method if you don't like to eat or grind the seeds. This process is to separate the seeds from the grape's skin. Separating the skins from the grape's pulp without grinding the skins will give a great texture to the grape jam. Otherwise, do the quick method If you don't have time🤷

So, is the lemon juice necessary, such as for to help it thicken? (I'm out of lemon.)
@MaricelsRecipes

If you are NOT canning it is not necessary and will refrigerate and consume the grape jam within a week or two. Lemon juice ( has a pH level 2 to 3 ) is added to add acidity for preserving, because grapes are mildly acidic (pH level 3.5 to 4.5)
You can even include the skin of the grape to make grape jam and add some lemon juice 🍇🍇🍋💦💧

Please watch the whole video. I separated the skin and used it. I dont want to grind the skin to give a great texture to the grape jam.
This is my 1st time in attempting Jam making, but how much sugar and lemon juice? And can't I just boil lids in water and put clean jars in hot oven?? I was given a Walmart bag full of scupidines and thought I'd try my hand at making jam..I'll have a mess on my hands by getting something wrong. Can someone fill in the blanks of this video?

Aren't you supposed to leave the juice overnight in the fridge before cooking it so sharp crystals don't form in the grape jam? That's what other recipes say...
@MaricelsRecipes

Hi, 🤔 I did not have that issue that sharp crystals form in the grape and I don't think it necessary to refrigerate the juice of the grapes overnight before cooking. However, also a good idea to make it in advance.

U mean butter IN the jam to prevent foaming?...🤔or spread on the bread along with the jam? Cuz I was wondering about both myself. 😉
@Mickster71

Butter on the bread first! thickly spread! Then a thin layer of jam on top as to not over power the bread and butter taste... But to complete it.
Why on earth would you seperate skins from.fruit, just to throw them back in??? Just crush & mash! That's extra work!
