What To Do When Your Jelly Doesn't Set
I made grape jelly back in October, but it didn't set properly. In fact, it didn't set at all! In this video I show how easy it is to fix that problem.

You will damage the pan with a teaspoon, use a spatula instead
Why don't you clean the pan before? 😊
Be sure to store your canned goods without there rings on so you can see if you have a failed seal when you go to get whatever canned item you are pulling from the pantry shelf.
No kidding, that is a really nice canning funnel; it's steel enamel, right?
Thanks for rescuing my muscadine grape jelly!
Thank you for this! I made blackberry jam last night and it was still like syrup this morning. I tried this on one jar and it worked 👌🏼 so I’m resterilising all the jars and doing the whole lot. Thank you! It took me 4 hours to pick the berries so I’m glad I can save this.
Same thing happened to me with Certo.
I've seen lots of videos that say add more sugar, pectin, etc. Never worked for me. This did, thanks.
After all that, and you didn’t open the jar and let us see how it jelled. Why??
You took another big risk that jar did not shatter. I never put hot liquid into a jar that's not equally being hot as the liquid.
If the grapes are wild, you have muscadines.
They say a hard boil, because that's when it likely reached the 220 degree temp that is needed for it to set.
This worked fabulously....Thank you very much
Thanks for sharing 💜 I am actually going to do this today. Be careful pouring hot jelly into a cool jar, it could break.
Did it set in the jar?
The jam is still thin in spite of reboiling, it shows on the amount of steam that it is realeasing in the video.
This worked great thanks man I appreciate it
So you didn’t add anymore sugar? Just boil for 2 more minutes
Lost me at metal spoon on pan.
Thanks for the info! My plumb jelly I made yesterday has not set, so now I know what to do if it’s not gel by tomorrow. And thanks for making me laugh, your personality is delightful!
