Al is adorable..such a cutie especially when you smile and laugh..I gotta tell ya, the reason people don't recognize you is because (and I hate to say this) they make you look like a dork, and you play the part sooooo well!!! Ive been a longtime fan of Robson’s work - which drew me to the show. I love the show - it’s more spiritual than a sermon! The cast and writers are phenomenal. I love all the characters but my favorite character is Leonard. His struggles are more touching, his growth is greater and his heart is bigger than any of the other characters (who I also live). Bravo!

Robson Green! One of the reasons that the show works is that the vicar and the cop are BOTH hot!🔥 And Al! People don't recognize you. That's why you don't get questions. Your character is beautiful and you have rendered him with grace .

Love the show! Love the cast & the English village setting! Don't really like murder mysteries but watch because it's a outstanding production. Al Weaver is so great & his character such a sweetheart!

Can't wait for Sunday night on PBS! I love Grantchester! Will miss James Norton though!

@@unowen-nh9ov Agreed! I like that they didn't give Leonard and Will the same kind of relationship he had with Sydney. And I do like that he is standing up to Will and telling him what he thinks of him, and how unhappy he is with the way he is doing his job as Vicar. I don't know how much of this season you've seen, but I only have one episode left next Sunday (I'm watching in Canada). After the way last week's episode ended, it will be really interesting to see where their relationship stands at the end of the season, and where it goes next year. I also hope that Leonard and Mrs. C. can resolve their issues.

We love Grantchester here in the USA. I wish our own tv shows were as well written and acted as this. We are also Doc Martin and Downton Abbey fans.

Al , you are so wonderful as Leonard ! No one recognizes you because you are so perfect ! It is a problem of being "someone else " ! You are adorable as both yourself and Leonard, Sir !

Al Weaver and Oliver Dimsdale (Leonard and Daniel) are actually not gay in real life. Which I found interesting.

We love Grantchester in Canada too. There is great fishing in Newfoundland and Labrador Robson! It is a great cast this season. Thank you and please keep it coming.

I'm in Australia and have only just started watching the show, even though it's been on here for ages. I'm not normally a fan of murder mysteries but the characters pulled me in. ☺

Each character is so interesting, real, and all performing is done with such passion. I found myself praying for each of them as though they were real people. I really changed my perspective on life and faith in a good way. I am less likely to judge and have more compassion. Thanks all of you!!

Rex is still my favorite Xenoblade character. Al was awesome considering how rushed the English version was.

I love this show here in the USA big fan. I originally started watching it because of James Norton seen him in some movies i liked so when he left i decided to continue to watch the show with all the amazing actors getting to know them on TV and looking up others movies or show they have been in.:)

Tessa and Kacey...Wow! You are so awesome. Kacey ripped my heart out in the "affair" episodes. And Tessa's character has managed James' vicar with a sophisticated combination of love and judgment. I love the richness of Grantchester.

Idiots complain Grantchester is "p.c.", I prefer your word - richness. It looks like a postcard but displays all the tensions of post-war Britain. Mrs. C. is as strong as any feminist but would go to her grave before using that word, Leonard & Geordie's Mrs. both struggle in discriminatory, unwelcoming, changing workplaces, Will like Sidney before him struggles with his vocation & place in the church & the outer world, Geordie may well be self-medicating depression &/or PTSD. Thank gawd for therapy black lab! & therapy pub! & symmetrically perfect hot vicars!

It’s so weird seeing them not In character.

I know some ppl didnt liked the fact they changed the vicar. Im new in this show, im honest. But i dont think this is a problem. I loved Sidney, but i love Will as well. I think they got a different story, point of view on things, they seems really differents. And i feel like Al( ? ) and Will r in another relationship, smthg which is really interesting. There is a lot to talk about on the 50's period. Thats maybe why they put another vicar who isnt the one suposed to be. It seems difficult for him (totally understandable) and hope he get to accept himself and understand all he need to do to live a good life cuz damn he deserves it. I wanted to add that plz ppl, be less rude with Tom Brittney, i mean he got this role, he plays it well. Thats good. Yeah he isnt James Norton but just give him a chance :) Thank ya if someone read it 😬

I love the character of Leonard...played so beautifully by Al Weaver. I would have preferred if they had made him the main character instead of bringing in someone that is a sort of replica of Sydney Chambers. I will remain a die-hard fan, but only till the end of season 3. I do not understand why they even continued the show with the main character leaving...the dynamic between Sydney and Geordie cannot be beat.

I love this series so much. Love the cast and love their work. I must say I feel Kacey is a bit under used though. Cathy is an interesting, lovely character and Kacey is a powerhouse performer and has been for many years but isn't on screen enough in my opinion. Even during the affair story the actual screen time for Cathy wasn't much. I know she is not the main character but I would like to see more Cathy.

Well, so how about this? I am from Mexico and I love it and got my husband hooked on it too! Just finished watching Season 6 on Prime Video/AcornTv and can’t find where to watch Season 7. Help!!! And congrats, you are all amazing. Just cried so much for Leonard this weekend when we watched the last episodes of Season 6.

Totally stumbled on this show, have watched all the way through to season 8. It's very different than most historical drama being set in the 1950's, but absolutely beautiful settings, great acting, and in my opinion, English film and television is just superior to American, or really anywhere else! Music pretty much is too!

I love this show. Love Leonard. I don’t know if I would recognize him. It would drive me crazy though because I would think “he reminds me if someone. Who does he remind me of?”

I love the entire cast past present and looking forward to future. From California, an admirer of Robson Green from his acting and singing career before grantchester. In fact I watched grantchester because I watch anything Robson Green is in that streams in the USA. The strong family ties and justice winning out is therapeutic for us Americans that are drowning in the trump lying maga dystopia.

I watched 3rd episode on season 4 and at end they advertised next week Aug. 11th as season finale. I was in shock. That would only be 4 episodes. Are they pulling the plug on the show? I was enjoying the show even if James was gone. Really Mrs C wasn't leaving. The case of poor Geordie's wife being attacked and the way the boss handled it back in the days. Grrrr.! They can't stop. I like all the cast.! From Canada. Just saw one of your fishing blogs Robson and it was enjoyable.

Please don't give away spoilers! There are people reading this who haven't watched the shows yet. Season 4 has 6 episodes, each of 45 minutes. PBS combined the first 2 episodes into 1 long episode of 90 minutes so the series will be 5 episodes for us, not 6 (and not 4 by your count).
