My mother believed this strongly. When she divorced our father she viewed never to have another man live in our home, with me and my two teenaged sisters. Her romantic life occurred outside our home. Period . So many parents don't get it, there's competition and jealousy in these situations and that spells danger for the kids.

100% I’m a single mom of a 15 year old. I haven’t dated and won’t until he’s moved out on his own. There’s way too many bad humans in this world. Look it up on YT - kids who’ve died and you’ll see videos of hundreds of kiddos murdered by girlfriends, boyfriends, partners, etc. your kids should always be first

If you have a child that is only 1 year old there should be no " dad's girlfriend" or "mom's boyfriend" do not trust anyone with your child

Yep,agree Preventative measures . Several missed opportunities, to keep iris safe. The grandparents are devastated . It’s heartbreaking. Admirable tho, they will make life safer for babies in iris honor. The grandparents legacy may help other grandparents in similar situations. Grandparents are in difficult positions. They have the wisdom to recognize issues but are not legally acknowledged when they try to intervene .

People need to think before commenting. If you hold CPS responsible in cases like this: A: No one in their right mind would do the job. B: They would deny any visitation across the board to protect themselves. The father is most to blame in this case for letting his girlfriend near his daughter. Quite easily, actually. At 20, the risk assessment center of the brain is not fully developed. Also, the parts of the brain responsible for more altruistic behavior are also not fully functional. Want to know what the most active parts are? The ones associated with selfish/ self serving behavior. This is why teenagers are often called selfish, etc, but these behaviors and brain function continue until 25-30 years old.

I’m a polish addict. I paint my nails daily a lot of times, do swatches for Instagram etc. I use straight acetone everytime. 100% acetone burns your eyes, your nose terribly, it’s super hard on your skin, people have to stop using it for months or years at a time because it can be so detrimental to your health. I cannot imagine the pain this baby felt ingesting it. That thing needs to be put under the jail.

If someone told me that someone was hurting/trying to kill my baby, even if I didn't want to believe it, I still couldn't take the chance! So sad and maddening.😢

Absolutely. Kids deserve both parents in a monogamous relationship. My late grandmother had 13 grandchildren also and she was very loving towards us.

I am the same way with my grandson. My son always says “Mom you never did this for us 😂” The love between a grandparent and a grandchild is different. Sorry to all who is to sensitive to get it.

I think that one reason why grandparents love and value their grandchildren so much is that they envision a future when they always have love and support from these grandkids! They will have a much less lonely old age because of them! You can "live through them" as they say! @@user-rl2ko7io2k

I demand justice for this precious little girl

My father kidnapped me when I was 5 because he wanted money from my mom that wasn’t his, the cops had to retrieve me and they still gave him partial custody. Looking back at how the court system lead me down a dangerous path as a child because of poor choices made by the court it makes me scared to have children myself, it’s so hard to protect them when the court system is so corrupt and stupid. I feel so awful for all the children like this that should have and could have been saved if the court system actually cared about putting safety of children first.

Heartbreaking! My prayers are with the mom and grandparents.

@@l.v.6384That’s an oversimplification of the reality that we live in. Besides, what happens when both parents are morons and CPS doesn’t do anything about that? It happens ALL THE TIME. Kids left in a household with people who are slowly murdering them. On the news all the time. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The truth is you cannot trust people to do what’s right without a supervising authority- that’s the entire reason for CPS in the first place. If they aren’t doing their job, then no one is because there are inevitably thousands of people with kids who are ill-equipped for that in one way or another. In this case, even the grandparents could have gone over there and stayed there to keep the kid safe, but no one was mentally or physically equipped for that, and CPS should be able to recognize a situation like that and intervene.

Poor baby Iris and her parents, how could anyone do that ? Why get with a single dad if you can't accept that he's a dad? His child will always come first and the ideal situation for everyone is that the parents co-parent really well, it doesn't mean that they want to be together or have residual feelings for one another, it means that they are adults who can adult for the sake of their child by avoiding conflicts, drama and trouble.

I think that when you first meet someone, like when this man met his young current girlfriend, he was all sweetness and light, he probably wooed her and thought everything would work out! Maybe she was looking for money and/or emotional support, and being a young pretty girl he went for it! He just couldn't resist her!

My heart goes out to the family of this little girl. We had something similar happen where I live. A woman killed her boyfriends 6 year old daughter, put her in a 5 gallon bucket and hauled her to the mothers house and set the bucket on her front lawn.

She needs prison justice 💯😪
