This video changed my life. I watched it months back and loved how Grandpa cooked. I dont eat meat(only when I travel), but I started cooking like that with potatoes first. Slowly I got addicted to this style of cooking and it has improved my health a lot. One day I wish to visit Grandpa and eat from here.

I was a kid living in Japan from 1966 to 1970. This food smell was so nice. I remember vendors would have carts pulled by a donky with food on the cart and selling to the Americans through the chain link fence. For 10 Yen at that time value 3 cents mom could buy a sweet potato piping hot. Also me and my brother would each get 10 Yen from mom and we could get enough candy to choke a horse. Oh, and the corn 🌽 was roasted w soy sauce and I still do it today its so good. Living in Japan as a kid was the best childhood ever. Playing off base with Japanese kids was lots of fun back then and you haven't lived until you slipped and fell in a benjo ditch..... it was just an open air sewers back then and I found my share of them as a fat clumsy kid 🤑lol.

the old man laughing, talking about how each family member would like the food for their own reason was very sweet (kids = snack, dads= goes good with alcohol, moms= great side dish for eating/cooking)

Japan people are very generous and granpa is one of them, not only he talk with the camera man time to time,he also get free innards,he doesnt want the camera man to just watch it,but also taste shares the food that he had been doing for decades, grandpa's way of saying that its not about money its about something that everyone can eat and enjoy❤❤, long live grandpa❤

They are genuine people. Totally accepting. Towards the end of my 1 year tour I asked one of the old couples I had contact with, Why they were open with me and not others. Certain people called them racist. They said, You have a good heart, you have good feelings, some people don't have a good heart and just have bad intentions. Which is true, the people they avoid are usually very negative. In closing, don't let toxic people into your life, surround yourself with good hearted people. The negatives will only talk bad of you behind your back. The positives will lift you up.

@xeepromx innards are eaten al over Asia for probably hundreds of years and also outside of Asia across many cultures. So I guess from that POV, on a population basis compared to the rest of the world that makes it not so rare. of course how it is/was prepared is a different story.
Saludos desde Venezuela, aqui esa comida se llama FRITO DE COCHINO (las entrañas del cerdo), la disfrutamos mucho con arepas (especie de torta de maiz).

Sadly in most modern countries eating the whole animal is a steadily fading (if not almost gone) thing. I know my great grandparents and grandparents ate them growing up and still did. My mother and her siblings MOSTLY didn't have to other than visiting family who still worked the farms (and mind you my mother is in her mid 60's) but I grew up in the south and was served everything and have no issues with most of it (Somethings even I am not a fan of, just not a fan of that bile taste)

Thanks for sharing this video! I love the fact that I was able to see something so similar to my own country in a different one. In Mexico we have a similar dish called "bofe" which in fact it is different kinds of innards but instead of being pan fried or grilled they are deep fried in lard. I love "tripita" which is the small intestine and liver. Many may find it strange but the flavors are strong, the textures can vary from very soft almost like butter to very chewy and stringy.
