About the using his eyes in the duel, he actually was nervous and did start to use it, but quickly realised how slow Luke was (he did train with Eris and Ruijerd and Ghislaine after all) and just shut it off. That win was pure skill.

1:30 the first coat is lizard hide from the Great Forest, the second is worm hide from Begaritt. The actual coat chosen is of an evolved form of rat his previous coat was made from (which was Mucky Rat, and yes the joke was in the book). The coat cost him seven thousand bucks. 3:10 Had pretty much the same reaction when reading that part of the book.

In s1 episode 8 when it was Rudy 10th birthday, there was a scene where Sylphy met Lilia to sent her gift to Rudy.. she did say that her gift was copied from her father treasure which is the pendant. Basically, Elinalise give her son (Sylphy's dad) a matching pendant or something.. and Sylphy make a copied of the pendant out of wood and gift it to Rudy.

S1 episode 3, after Rudeus escorted Shylphie post bullying, and before Paul scolds Rudeus, we see Sylphie's family waving hands at him. That's Laws.

The author is adding more layers to Elinalise, whilst potentially expanding the world with more Elfens.

Haven't read light novel, but remember there was a whole setup with Cliff being one of two rival popes in the Eris the Goblin Slayer OAV indicating there were political factions. So if Cliff's lover is not only Rudy's friend but also Sylphie's grandmother, then that means Rudy could easily be dragged into the religious struggle that was implied to be coming in the future....

He's actually the adopted son of the Pope. Not the pope. He was sent to Ranoa to keep him safe after the Popes top assassins were wiped out by Eris.

the manga showed more of the backstory Elinalise has many children, and all of them tend to hate her

For the explanation of the pendant: Elinalise gives out those pendants to any child she raises. This is so that she will recognize any potential descendant in the future if she meets them again, so she can avoid those people. (I mean it's not good to... um, deal with her curse with her descendant, right?) As a result she was very shocked to see Rudy holding a copy of it since she knows both his parents. Most hints were cut in the anime, in the LN there was a scene of Slyphie hearing her Father talking about her grandmother.

Everyone learned the secret of the universe in this eps.... 😂

Funny that in S1 episode 3 Rudy was trying to get Sylphie to bathe with him And now they are actually bathing together.

So now everyone that was ragging on Elinalise has been shocked with the news that she's nicer and more worthy than they thought!! 😂😂😂 Not mentioned in the anime, but Elinalise is over 200 years old.

If im remembering corectly she was already in that world alongside laplace before he got splited, so her age is around 1000 year old

@@mezacharia had the curse 200 years she...thinks of her self as 200 years old because the old her essentially died that day (book 14 or 15 of the LN when rud goes to the castle)

It was insinuated that Sylphie's parents died because of the Mass Teleportation incident. Remember when she went crazy attacking Nanahoshi. So this is some next level of emotions for both Elinalise and Sylphie. Lise left her son out of shame and guilt, now not being able to see him ever again. Fortunately she now meets his daughter and sees her getting married. They both lost an important family member, but now reconnected that familial bond through this marriage and received some closure. Also, maybe spoilers since I don't remember if it was last episode or the after this: but Sylphie did say that since her elf side of the family is more prominent, it may be difficult for her to get pregnant. So it's safe to assume that it's actually very difficult for Elinalise to get pregnant despite the curse considering that she is a full-blooded elf. Not mentioned at all, and I haven't read past this arc in the source material so I'm not sure, but I think Lise only ever had the one son.

12:52 The parents of Sylphie were very briefly shown in s1e3 when Rudy brought Sylphie home, we wont see them again cause they died in the displacement incident. Laws is one of the sons of Elinalise and father of Sylphie, she have many of them, most of them hate her cause her reputation made them being mistreated by everyone around her, which is why she hides her identity and leave their sons as soon as they can get by without her, so they dont have to go through that. Elinalise bursted into tears because, of all of their kids and grandkids, Sylphie is the first one that she saw managing to be happy.

I am somewhat wierded out by the fact that they are still using his teen model for rudeus. Nanahoshi comments after saving her. (and before his sisters arrive) That "i do not know what you looked like in our world previously, but the way you look now you could pass as a european model) Infact when he next time sees Paul he has grown to be 180 cm tall. Sylphie for example is just 165 cm. And this is not the only time he gets complimented by his looks. Rudeus notices after seeing Ginger York, Zanobas guard from season 1. To be staring at him. 4 years had passed since they met in Shirone.

Its the slice of life moments in the show that make this series top tier, it seems to swap genres at just the right time to keep everything fresh. an adventure anime to slice of life drama ....the slice of life pulls you in the adventure hypes you up the fights are fast and violent and are over just as quickly and then boom slice of life and its so jarring to come out of battle like that and then its just normal life ...like an emotional ice bucket challenge. but the story slowly draws you back out you start to get comfortable and the formula repeats. its really quite amazing!
