Paul Gaiden opens up additional layers to Paul's drive. He lost his mother when he was 11 to illness. His father and his brother blamed him for it, leading to him running away a year later. After years of adventuring, he started to fall in love with Zenith because she so resembled his mother in both appearance and personality, a bright and warm woman, who'd come to accept him for who he is. So Paul symbolically is given a second chance to save his own mother as he sets to rescue his wife and the love of his life in reality.

8:55 Elinalise did attend classes in the university, so she's learned a number of spells.

They even took one week break so that this episode could come out on father's day, kinda messed up if you ask me

The regret has yet to be revealed. Next episode, the EVENT that the entire series revolves around, and the reason, and yet not the reason, for the regret is created.

Well, yeah. I mean, every big event has its big pros and cons, I guess. From what we know now, Roxy would have died and his mother wouldn't have been saved and perhaps even died. But he probably wouldn't have lost his father and he wouldn't have lost his left hand. But that's only from what we know so far. It wouldn't surprise me if Rudeus gets screwed over even more because something happened back home, or something. After all, he's had too much happiness and fortune for too long. I just hope his wife and sisters are doing ok.

Is there anyone who played Darksoul or Eldenring? Then you should understand why Rudy can't react, because of shitty camera angle.

i just want to point out about healing spells. Rudeus cant use chantless healing because it require understanding about the process of that spells. he master water and other element because he remember how fire combust with oxigen and water molecules at his class in previous world. but he lack knowlegde in anatomy and human biology, which is the reason he need to chanting spells. spells is like the formula to get the fixed result in magic. meanwhile chantless magic require manualy using mana with their imagination.

The reason why Paul can cut off the heads of the hydra easily but Lise cannot is because one of Paul's weapons has the property of cutting things more easily as long as its target is harder, Its mencionated in the light novel

if he hadn't gone-barring someone else swooping in and saving the day-Roxy would've died, Paul's party wouldn't have had the book, and they wouldn't have had Elinalise's swordhand or Rudeus' spellcasting. So a permanently kneecapped party, no strategy guide to help them figure out planning for the deeper levels, and even if they somehow bruteforced their way to the sixth floor, they'd get tripped up by the magic circles at the end.

i'm so excited how anime onlies will react to turning point 4, this is nothing in comparison

R.I.P Paul. You were one heck of a father, husband and leader.

Alright, so a few things: Paul's death was made a tad obvious from all the red flags surrounding him and the warning that the man-god gave Rudeus. However, killing him on father's day was just a horrible dick move. Also, I really don't like this show reviving the childhood trauma I got from Berserk. To give Zenith the same brain damage Casca had is just terrible to watch. I love this show, but ffs I hate this show.

It was all for nothing, he lost his dad and his mom is in a vegetative state, Man God was right.
