Ambrose Kennedy I might not understand the meaning behind everything but it looks and seems very important and that’s enough for me to be highly appreciative of. Also it’s because where I live it’s very hard for convince the kids (including me) to dance our cultural dances and wear our traditional clothes but a lot of young peoples are involved in the video and that’s amazing as well.

@@brodyhill6533 We mostly use kia ora which means hello, we also use that for thank you as well. if you want to be polite you could say tēnā koutou when greeting a group of people or tēnā koe when greeting one person. Kia ora is the most used and is the best to say :)

Grand Entry is my favorite part of Pow Wow's. A very beautiful place to be. When someone tells me to go to my beautiful place when meditating, I go to the last Pow Wow I've been to. So many proud, humble and smiling faces. Thank you for this.

I live here right off the Navajo rez and am proud to say so many have served in the Armed Forces and we used to alway's honor them at Berg Park untill this stupid Covid. Last one there they were honoring the Code Talkers! We could not have one without them! Never forget that. Those of us here never will!

Every one of these people, their fathers, mothers and grandfathers have stories of survival, struggle, genocide, abuse, murder, violence, injustice by western system. Support, help and keep all the native cultures and their languages alive.

This is beyond special. This is so powerfully spiritual and magnificent. These aboriginal people were the first to ever walk on this country’s lands. Ancient tribes. When my mother was born she was told she was going back to the land of her forefathers and that was New Mexico. HER husband who was my father also ranned to the south for protection from the white man. Got the DNA to prove that. SOME THEM ESCAPE TO THE SOUTH FOR THEIR LIFES. Found that I'm from Apache and Peublo native. Now I'm trying to find more regarding my genealogy.

To the guy who said that you’re not Native American cause you’re not from the USA or CANADA, yes he is. He lives in the continent of the America’s which makes him an American. Native American tribes exist from North America to South America. There are more native tribes beyond USA and CANADA. Learn about the Americas before you tell someone he is not an indigenous Native American. There are more than 42 million indigenous people in Latin America and the most widely spoken indigenous language is Southern Quechua, with about 6 to 7 million speakers, primarily in South America. the joy bursts from my soul, the sorrow aches down to my core, the singing calls to me like nothing has ever before, I sob and am in total awe of the colors the faces the jingling of the bells the bodies in total hypnotic control of the rhythm...I have a longing inside me that can not be described, I just know I need to be apart of this in person....i can equate this to the Holy Spirit filling me up and in deep prayer and elation singing and dancing and worshipping the Lord Jesus

I am of Cherokee people & I am damn proud of it! I had 2 great grandma's both were 100% of Cherokee decent. I love all my brothers and sisters. I never really knew of my Native American background, until after I was an adult. Funny thing is though, I always had a great love for Native American Indians, long before I knew I had Cherokee blood. Everytime I heard Native music I just quite simply loved it, even as a child. My biggest love is the sound of the drums, but I also love all the singing & dances.... From the Texas Hill Country of Burnet... Aho

Absolutely! I try to attend at least six powwow within 100 miles drive of my home in central Ontario, every summer. Even the three years when I was nearly blind from Lyme Tick Eye disease, before I had double eye surgery to restore some of my sight last May 29th, I still went to powwows. NOTHING was going to keep me from going to powwow. Some of the small ones, on islands, are among the best I've attended. I was even, unbelievably, invited to walk in the Rama First Nation PowWow Grand Entry last Aug 19 2017, an hour after my fellow water walkers and I had finished an 11 consecutive sacred day water walk, about 320kms, around Waawaasaegaming (Lake Simcoe). It was among the greatest honours of my life. I also received a most beautiful Pendleton blanket (it is the feature piece in my guest bedroom, along with many original paintings and numbered prints by well-known woodland-style artisans on Turtle Island.) I've been declared competent to drive again, and just recertified for my driver's license a couple weeks ago! I'm hoping to be able to introduce my 4 year old grandson to a powwow experience. He's been playing the drums since he was 7 months old, and I expect he will be moved by the drumming at a powwow, not to mention all the colours and movement of the regalia. Hope to go to my first powwow of 2018 in three weeks, on Lake Scugog. Went last year, for the first time, and it was wonderful, and the organizers and participants and vendors were amazing and I made some very good friends there that weekend. Happy PowWow trails to you!

My mother is a proud 100% Native American from Cherokee and Mohawk Nations- my parents used to take me to powwows as a child and I didn't appreciate it then, now I do more than ever, especially now that I have a daughter of my own. I took her to her first powwow last summer- Proud of my Native roots!

some Native Americans once worshiped YaH, though the Spaniards and settlers assumed their worship was pagan and taught this to future generations. Giants in the land probably added to their assumptions of Native Americans being hostile. Unfortunately, settlers would find bodies of their people mangled to shreds. This is where trickster was able to grab hold by their fear, anxiety and a seeded mistrust. What needs to be realized is Native Americans were so spiritually strong they fought off trickster devil regularly. When Spaniards landed they brought scripture Yahs written word, but their souls were weak and corrupt. Trickster created so much mistrust and division amongst new arrivals. The horrible history we all know now, this led to a huge division among Native Americans and today's people in America. My prayer is they will see how evil took root and confused so many, so that they may all find their path back to our Great YaH with the seeds of forgiveness and bring honor back to Him and His son YeShUa (a completely pure and innocent sacrifice who had no blemish) who died for us, so that we can find redemption. (All flesh is corrupted, none are without sin). To truly seek YaShUa, pray, read Yah's word, He states specifically how we are to worship Him and be set apart, by observing His ordained feasts and holidays. Shalom It is your spirit crying out, we have been separated from YaH for so long, it is time to return! Revelations/ or the Great Fires will be coming. Who will be ready?

It's one thing to see the Native Americans dance in a video or on TV. It's totally different to see them perform live. Even if you can't make it to the POW WOW Gathering of Nations in Albuquerque, there's the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center just north of I-40 on 12th St NW. It's east of the Rio Grande. The city of Albuquerque looks like a bowl. The Sandia Mountains are on the east side of Albuquerque. ALL addresses in Albuquerque have either NE, NW, SE, and SW. Central Av divides the north and the south. The railroad tracks in Downtown Albuquerque dive east and west. Central Av has NE, NW, SE, and SW for their addresses. If one person asks another person about directions, most will tell you the name of the street, but it's without whether it's street, boulevard, avenue,, or road. A good example is Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital. They will say, "It's at Constitution and Wyoming." I know it's a lot to try and understand, but these are the facts. It's very much a cultural shock. Every time I watch these videos my eyes start leaking like crazy and my chest gets tight. It’s amazing how such an emotional response is triggered, and as far as I know I have zero native blood in me. Absolutely awesome! 🙌

Such a Beautiful culture and tradition. As a dutch guy I learned about Pow Wow after I saw a smal sized version of it at the yearly exhibition: The western Experience in the netherlands in 2001.The event always include a market and Line dance lession etc. But I had no interest in that at all. I only came for the perfomances by the: The First Nations dance Company, led by Richard Donaghey. And for the workshops they would gave there. During that first time, I was only 10 years old, it already made my emotional and fascinated. I was completely stunned by the power of the singing and the sound of the drums and the beautiful regalia and outfits and movements. I never could have imagined that the native american culture would be so rich. and since then up until 2008 i visited every edition of it. During these wonderful times my english got better and better, and I often would have chance to speak with some of the the native dancers and they where such wonderful people. I realy had great conversations with them. This group traveled around around the world to perform, and they where so glad and proud to share their incredible culture. And the more I learned about the sad history of native americans, and in my opinion the only true americans, the more emotional I got every year I saw it. If there was no pandemic I would have been seeing it for the first time in Arizona, But had to cancel it. I hope I can witness it again one day.

I am absolutely mesmerized. I have absolutely no native blood but I still find this culture so amazing. I love studying different cultures and I’m actually making a ribbon shawl at school now.

This is so cool, I'm Central American and Mexican, It makes me feel so sad that I didn't experience this growing up. I was always drawn to nature and since I was a child I thought Native cultures are beautiful and I was mocked for that and for having a darker shade of skin, my mom used to say I shouldn't play in he sun too much if I wanted to be like a beautiful Disney princess but the people here are beautiful.

Blessings of Our Creator on all. I wasn't able to attend this year due to illness. I'm awake in the dark this morning, with post surgical pain that was getting out of control. Then I turned on the Grand Entry, closed my eyes & let the drums speak. ❤️ Eases my pain & speaks to my soul.

So beautiful to see all our native people united together all as one. Together we are all strong keep on living your life on the good red road.

This is so powerful. It reminds me so much of my uncle who always had deep respect for these cultures, he loved the look and the music and he even let his hair grow. He has no native american line in his DNA, but I believe that spiritual poeple all over the world will always have a deep connection to old cultures like this. Beautiful.

@@bubasingh4680 I actually believe he was. He was an old soul and spiritually connected to me all my life. He even contacted me several times after his passing. I heard of mirror gazing but I do not know what it is exactly. I am a little terrified of mirrors tbh. 😅

@@Gwenny_Black Nothing to fear. There are a few good how to videos on KZread. Check it out before you try. I tried it and had success. What happens when you do it right is that as you're looking at yourself in the face without moving your eyes at all, no blinking etc, in about a minute your face in the mirror will become increasingly blurry and will suddenly disappear, then another face will appear in its place. The new face is you in the previous lifetime. If you can keep steady the new face will disappear as well giving way to you, two lifetimes ago. You can continue this exercise as far as you can take it. The exercise will show that you were not always of the same race. Don't be afraid

First time I attended a Powwow as a spectator, I was in awe of the music, the singing, the dancing, the traditional dress but above all was how beautiful the Native Americans are: the men, women and children are beautiful.

The Indians are the real Americans, treating the proud people with respect and peace. I love the Indian people.

I’m not either but had some good friends from a tribe in Canada... found thro this relation more similarities between my culture [afghan] and indians. i used to also join their powow which is also very similar to a dance with traditional attire we perform again similar movements in counter-clock direction with best of drums. I believe it’s battle song. loved the hot steam room tradition. so why I’m here

Pow Wows touch my soul...I live them live even better. The energy is so powerful. Ahhhh the drums. Like our earth's heartbeat😍😍🤩🤩🤎🧡❤

Wish I could attend the big one in Albuquerque. I couldn't take the number of people or the noise level. So glad I can watch so much on KZread. So beautiful.
