The Gathring of Nations grand entry brings the people together. It's a way to bring everyone here on Earth with our ancestors in the Spirit World to honor what the Great Spirit has given us through dancing, singing, drummming, prayers, & fellowhship.

I'm currently learning Lakota, I'm not Lakota but I frew up around many of them and even if its not in my blood I'm very proud that I get to learn not only about Lakota but the Native American culture as a whole. I cant wait to learn more about such an awesome and amazing culture

This particular song and pow wow bring me to choking back on tears no matter how many times I watch it. I only have 9% Native in me from Latin America/Carribean but it's amazing how hearing something of the indigenous peoples stirs my emotions. Similar to when I hear songs from the cultures of my other bloods. It's a very powerful feeling.

Who told you these Mongolians, Asian, and five dollars so-called native are the original Americans lol wow, the indigenous Americans are the original Americans and they are being called black or black Americans or Afro American or Negroes or colored people or African Americans which is a new term giving to them in the 1980's because they don't know what to call a people that you hide their true identity from them and the world. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fp-Ak7B8fbu_dbQ.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/a5-azamwlLKYdZM.html we ARE STILL HERE AND WE ARE BLACK THE TRUE PEOPLE OF AMERICA 2020 African Americans Ain't African HERE IS THE FIRST PEOPLE COLUMBUS AND OTHERS SAW WHEN THEY FIRST CAME TO MY ANCESTORS LAND. Columbus Himself According to renowned American historian and linguist Leo Weiner of Harvard University, one of the strongest pieces of evidence to support the fact that Black people sailed to America before Christopher Columbus was a journal entry from Columbus himself. In Weiner’s book, “Africa and the Discovery of America,” he explains that Columbus noted in his journal that the Native Americans confirmed “black skinned people had come from the south-east in boats, trading in gold-tipped spears. The Accounts of Other European Explorers Christopher Columbus wasn’t the only European explorer who made note of an African presence in the Americas upon his arrival. Historians revealed that at least a dozen other explorers, including Vasco Nunez de Balboa, also made record of seeing “NEGROES” when they reached the New World. The accounts match up with the reports from the natives in Mexico. Nicholas Leon, an eminent Mexican authority, recorded the oral traditions of his people and ultimately kept track of a key piece of evidence that Black people made it to the New World far before their European counterparts. His reports revealed accounts from natives saying “the oldest inhabitants of Mexico WERE BLACKS. [T]he existence of blacks and giants is commonly believed by nearly all the races of our sail and in their various language they had words to designate them. THE GRAVE NEVER LIE IT'S THE LIVING THAT LIES Ancient African Skeletons Discovered in the New World There have been many instances of archaeologists discovering skulls and skeletons that they believed clearly belonged to people of African descent. Polish professor Andrzej Wiercinski revealed the discovery of African skulls at Olmec sites in Tlatilco, Cerro de las Mesas and Monte Alban. Even more ancient African skeletons that would clearly predate Columbus’ arrival in the Americas were discovered throughout Central America and South America with some even being unearthed in what is now California.

RedGryyn Thank you. I have faced a lot of negativity in my life from people who tell me that my skin is too dark, and my hair is too curly to be considered Native American. People have often told me that I don't look like a "traditional First Nation" person. I still want to go to a Pow Wow. But I'm honestly worried that if I ever attended a Pow Wow, people will stare at me or treat me differently because of my complexion and hair.

+Dylan Summers it sounds like they don't know about the many Afro-American/Native American people down through history. It's even on Wikipedia. I'm mixed race (Native, Irish, Russian, German, Altaic) and often don't discuss my Indian heritage because part of it is a great-grandmother who was Cherokee and there are all those "Cherokee Princess" jokes. It's similar to what Elizabeth Warren goes through, she is not a fake, and didn't put Native American on forms to get any special treatment, she did it to let people know we are out there, same reason I do it. But +Clashy Kane is right. All races are and should be welcome. I should go too.
