I'm in love with this development. What a great vision this township had. I am thrilled to see the innovation and creativity of these "self builds". I can't wait to see how this one turned out. They are all spectacular in their own unique way as are their owners!

We have always had the freedom to build whatever we desire in Australia. It’s the opposite here in that some housing estates will only allow brick exterior homes or put some other stipulation on the buildings. Most areas tend to be very flexible. 😊

Most housing estates around my area, control what you can and cannot build. Right down to the facade ?? I don't mind this control. Once the house is built it stays there, unlike the people who decided to build these houses ???

Still managing to keep the title of The Unfinished Streets ?? Great to see Father & Son working and Enjoying life together 👍👍 Love the Basement Workshop. But, I would be a little concerned with decent ventilation while working in there ??? I might stick with my ground level shop. Hopefully I can see the house finished in later episodes ?

Tohught the building industry was moving away from concrete because it is a poor material, environmentally terrible and difficult to recycle. Yet, pretty much all and especially those in Aus and NZ feature extensive use of concrete.

@@richardmckrell4899 I am sorry, I might of missed it, but why is it ridiculous? It would be one thing if the design was bad (and I think the last house was not good) post-modern/Bauhaus brutalist that tickles most architect's fancy but no one else. The show is called Grand Designs for a reason. Not average or cheap designs. Now, I would agree shows that show a grad design on a low budget that stretches the boundaries are good. But sometimes, the higher end budgets will portend changes in the future, which at scale, become affordable. Think indoor plumbing and the loo.
