That was the Little People Garage! All my 6 siblings loved playing with them all. Then all 3 of my kids loved them! For our sons 1st birthday, hubby told me that, "Every boy needs a Tonka Truck." At 15, he still has 3. 2 are the same, so they gave it a paint job. Lol

At 1:55, there is still one of those Waterful Ring Toss games at my mother's house. Her grandchildren have played with it. My two brothers and I were allowed to play the noisy "Hungry Hungry Hippos" game only if the door to the room was closed. I won't say you must watch the "Star Wars" movies, especially the atrocious Episode 8. I was 7 years old when the first was released in 1977. I was too young to truly appreciate how revolutionary it was. The only comparison I can think of is when people accustomed to silent movies saw their first "talkie" in the late 1920s.

We always wanted an Atari but we got stuck with a Commodore 64 and it only had 2 games. Mom wouldn't even consider buying any others. My sister eventually bought a Nintendo and my brother a Sega but that was years later, lol.

Cool pick, reaction great. Remember all of this (never had most). The water one you see i had ,as well as a similar one that had a ball that you tried to score a basket. 2 people could play, each had a button to push. When young comics were sold everywhere, local store, pharmacies etc. A huge variety to select from. My favs ( had many) were Jonah Hex(western), Witching hour( horror), Sgt Rock (war) ,Conan barbarian ( Science fiction), Archie (assortment of titles), Bugs bunny (various titles), Tarzan ( fantasy ?) Still have over 1000. (put away) Video brought back a lot of happy memories, thank you, enjoy your day (swim, sleep )

Anybody who complains about you guys having to run a fan in the summer can go ahead and shut up. I'm listening with IEMs and barely hear the subtle, pleasant drone in the background. If it's hot, just use it. I prefer my favorite KZreadr families don't die of heat exhaustion and am happy to tolerate a couple months of fan noise to serve that end.

I had almost every one of theses toys. They still sell Pet Rocks. My daughter got me one for Christmas last year. I use him as a guard rock. He can't hear as well as the dog but he'll put a huge knot on your head if you break in. The Evel Knievel motorcycle was the best. Just make a ramp, line up a few Tonka trucks, and then wind him up and he'd jump them. If you just let him go on level ground he'd just keep going and going. The Bionic man had a telescoping eye so you could look through the back of his head and you had a tiny telescope.

When I was a small child I saw a glowing device that radiated lots of heat and had a small round light that had things moving on it. It was one of the first TV's. They had it at a Science Fair. I have seen all of the gadgets and gizmo's come and go in my lifetime. Anti-gravity toys are probably on the drawing board as we speak.

I remember when they came out with a pyramid shaped puzzle like the Rubix Cube. Same concept, except it was pyramid shape. I never could solve it! Except one time when I was watching tv, I was just turning it like some type of fidget toy, I just happened to look down and low and behold...WALA! I had solved it! I wasn't even looking or paying attention to it. It just happened! Don't know how I did it and never could do it again. That is what really annoyed me. Never could solve the Rubix Cube either. The closest I ever got without cheating was getting three sides at one time. These types of toys were absolutely infuriating to me.

The quality of our toys was better but they could be highly injurious. This is what sets Gen X apart and gives us our toughness, lol. How many little girls had to cut their brother's Evil Knievel stunt motorcycle out of their hair? Suffered first degree burns from the Easy Bake Oven? Stepped on one of those awful Spiro-graph pins or metal jack stones? I won't even go into the insane bike riding or lawn darts.... Damn fine times if you survived.
