    Just a few ideas. If you swap the pistons for servos you could allow for a more variable actuation on the amount of paint from each can when mixing colours. This would also allow for use of a thumb stick for colour wheel like selection. With this you could either keep the 4 can design and have the centre point as off or move to a 5 can design and have white as centre and blend between white and the other colours. You could also separate the colour selection logic and the firing logic. Have one controller with the thumb stick for colour selection and then modify the can with a pressure switch so it only fires when you want to paint; using the pressure switch would allow for you to adjust the flow.

    Yo, when you finally got that smooth transitioning solid line with the NY fatcap it was SO satisfying. This might be a stupid idea, idk, but just a thought. I've always wondered about using a joystick to control multiple actuators with a smooth transition between them. A joystick might be good for increasing can numbers since you can pack a theoretically infinite number of points into a circle, and it seems like it'd be easier than controlling 8, 10, 12 or more buttons. Imagine if the "south" input selected can 1, "west" selected can 2, etc. The blend between cans 1 and 2 could be flawless as you rotate the joystick from south to west and beyond. With more and more cans you could just add them into rotation. South is can 1, south-southwest is 2, southwest is 3 west-southwest is 4, west is 5, etc. It would require programming and probably like a Raspberry Pi or something, and probably stronger motors controlling actuators for quicker transitions, but that's all outside my wheelhouse. Excellent invention, man, the color change lines are wild.

    Thanks for your comment! Yes, that's a great idea! But the paint can valve system can only work as pressed or not pressed. By the way, someone wrote to me about the idea with a joystick in a comment under this video. I have an idea how to mix the paint with different pressure, maybe later I will do it)

    Awesome idea! One thing I'd try instead of using different buttons for each solenoid, try using something like a 4 way hat switch (or even an 8 or 16 way if you want to get crazy). These are the kinds they use on aircraft flight sticks and act kind of like a joystick but with discrete switch points instead of being analogue. This would let you just pull the hat in a circle if you want to change colors instead of having to memorize a rhythm for pressing the buttons.

    Dude you are sooo close! i think there may be some air getting into the tube where it joins the can in your hand. this would explain why the fat cap was a bit patchy. Maybe a 3d printed can with a better connecting joiner would help. 100% great invention. Love your work!

  • @VitalyTesh

    @VitalyTesh

    3 ай бұрын

    @@Knotaro_bot No, air does not enter where the tubes connect) Paint under pressure would come out of there if there was a gap. The dirty line with the fat cap is due to the fact that the green connector which included in the can has a small cut for the fat cap. The fat cap has a bigger hole and the green connector has a smaller hole, that's why we can see this dirty line. It is necessary to slightly enlarge the hole on the connector by cutting off a little. The 0520D solenoids will not be able to hold the connector in the valve, they will not be able to even press it, they are too weak for that) Thanks a lot!

    Cool idea. Really nice transisitons. definitely an improvement to your earlier tries. I think the best remote would be something like a game controller has. that way you could switch more intuitively without the brain gymnastics of spraying and having to figure out finger combinations. For the connections you could have a talk with someone who knows about pneumatics/hydraulics. I think the laggy lines happen due to a pressure drop while changing colors. There's valves and stuff for such things.
