A young girl back then with Mary Jenkins would have probably been the young woman who was a teen aged girl worked at Graceland for Elvis answering phones and doing better studies at the kitchen table. He bought her a car. That was her job. To answer the phone, to do her school studies and like I SA I d if the kitchen lady needed something she could go get it in the car he bought her. Elvis found her at a bus stop crying one day cause she had missed her ride to school. So she was waiting fir the bus. Elvis always the generous fixer, helped her.

@@gracieg7601 I think the girl you described was Maggie Smith and she was a black 19 year old college student at Lemoyne Owen. She met Elvis at a Pontiac car dealership in Memphis on September 18, 1974 and he bought her a Catalina car. But that was several years after that footage was made. She was hired to answer the phone and do her school work at a table off of the kitchen and den. Elvis paid her tuition and would always want to see her grades because he cared. She also was Lisa's part time nanny when she was in Memphis visiting her dad. That girl in the footage is white. I'm thinking it could be Patsy Presley, Elvis' cousin.

I AM part of the generation that shows ALL who will listen how great he was being ONLY 6 months old upon his death...... Let me get this straight the LOVE my Mother AND Father!!! Had for this man his point his message his human existence was SO GREAT!!! A person born AFTER his time would love and teach the man himself NOT the superstar he WAS a super star but he connected to his fans like no one before he after he loved us he showed and and we knew it and felt it again I'm a person born E.p after death.... WHY is it so hard for today's musicians and stars to realize u are NOT places on a pedal and loved unless u show love back.... E.p GAVE BACK MORE THAN EVER EXSPECTED AND MORE THAN HE EVEN NEEDED TO!!!!!!!!! E.P U LIVE FOREVER !!. TO E.P enterprises i get it ... Graceland your was 5 bucks in 1982 I JUST PAID OVER 200 ... He believed that God had given him this special talent and always asked “why me “... everyone who knew him has said that … he appreciated that he had this talent that helped him drag himself out of such poverty and did not forget about it. I believe this is why he was humble; because he knew it was just chance and believed that GOD gave him the voice and looks that he had. He made the absolute best of it , his abilities , and shared it with the world. It all truly is a testament to the fact that he truly believed he was destined to entertain. I believe the only time he ‘ hid behind doors ‘ was literally because he HAD to rest. I wish he could see how loved by so many he still is .

He truly did go crazy for his fans. This was his free time . He spent it in a frenzy of people when he was on his horse ‘relaxing.’ Pulling good sized children up on the saddle with him while the horse was under him . He put himself at risk the entire time to do things like this for his fans . At any moment that horse could have bolted and thrown him . I’m assuming that most of the time it is Rising Sun under him but still there is major risk with all that chaos. It just goes to show more about his personality because his horse trusted him that much. He keeps a smile on his face , answers people and converses , and at points is swatting away bugs from his neck and swamped with people. He was an absolute gift to all Of everyone who has lived while he lived and still is for the next generation. A shining example of what a nice person is . He was just a man and not perfect but still an absolutely great person.

I always enjoyed watching Elvis and listening to his songs, and I watch his video of him and found out that his horses name was rising Sun. My husband had a horse before he went into the Air Force that he named Sun. He could shoot from his back, take him across creeks and really enjoyed riding. Then later, when we got married,my husband found out. My husband found out that I enjoyed horses riding them and being around them and we would always go out and shoot on the weekends and I am really enjoy doing that. My husband was a deputy sheriff of the county that we live in watching these videos. I could just take Elvis in my arms and just hold him as tight as I could like I did my husband, he was such a sweet and loving man and very giving like my husband the day that Elvis passed away. My husband was working on second shift and he called me and told me about Elvis passing before I seen it on the news he knew how much I really cared for Elvis and I appreciated him for that. God bless all of you and thank you so much for sharing these videos of Elvis and letting us learn more about him.

That was shot with 8mm Kodak film. 16mm was available that would have had sound. 8mm was much more common. 16MM was much more expensive. We still have old 8mm film of us as small kids from the late 50s. The problem is over time the quality of the image degrades and gets blurry. All with 8mm needs to convert to digital with backups to preserve quality.
