చేతన గారు మెడిసిన్ చేసి డాక్టర్ అయ్యి సేవ చేసే అవకాశం వస్తుంది అనే ఉద్దెశంతో ఎం.బీ.బీస్ పూర్తి చేశారు , ఉస్మానియా మెడికల్ కాలేజీలో హౌస్ సర్జన్ గా కూడా అనారోగ్య బాధితుల బాధలు తీర్చారు. నిజానికి ఎం.బి.బి.ఎస్ చెయ్యడం వల్ల ప్రజా సేవ ఎక్కువ చెయ్యొచ్చు అనుకున్న చేతన గారికి తన లక్ష్యానికి మరో మార్గం ఎన్నుకోవాల్సి వచ్చింది. డాక్టర్ గా ఉన్నప్పుడు తన దగ్గరికి వచ్చే పేషేంట్స్ లో ఎక్కువ శాతం మహిళలు, పిల్లలు ఉండేవారు.మహిళలు గర్భస్రావాలతో, ఎనీమియా బాధితులు, పిల్లలు పోషకాహారలోపాలు వంటి రకరకాల వారిని కలుసుకోగలిగారు. వారితో మాట్లాడడం మూలంగా గృహహింస, వరకట్న వేధింపుల ద్వారా వారి జీవితాలను చూడగలిగారు. “డాక్టర్ గా ఉంటే కాసేపు వారికి శాంతిని ఇవ్వగలనేమో, అదే ఐ.పి.ఎస్ ఆఫీసర్ ఐతే వచ్చే అధికారంతో మరింత ఉన్నతంగా వారి జీవితాలను బాగుచేయొచ్చని “సివిల్స్ ప్రిపరేషన్ మొదలుపెట్టారు. ఐ.పి.ఎస్ వచ్చింది. ఐ.పి.ఎస్ ట్రైనింగ్ తన లక్ష్యానికి మరింత సన్నద్ధం చేసింది. తీవ్రమైన ఒత్తిడి, శాంతి భద్రతల సమస్యలు, శత్రువుల నుండి దాడులు మొదలైనవి ఇక్కడ సర్వసాధారణం, చేతన గారికి మహిళలకు రక్షణ ఇవ్వాలనే కాంక్ష ముందు ఇవన్ని చిన్నగా తోచేవి. చేతన గారిలో సమాజానికి ఉపయోగపడే రచయిత కూడా ఉన్నారు వివిధ పత్రికల్లో రాసిన వ్యాసాలతో “అల” అనే పేరుతో పుస్తకం కూడా వెలువడింది.
The story of IPS officer Dr.chetana tells us that anything is possible if you take life as an interesting challenge and enjoy its flow of life. It is very interesting to know that she became a doctor first by doing MBBS and later she became an IPS officer. The reason for her career choice is very inspirational. Since childhood, she was fascinated with the brain or mind which is a reason behind the working of the world and society. She wanted to study MBBS to discover more about her interests and to help people. Once she finished her medicine course she started to work at Osmania medical college. During the time of her working as a doctor, she talked to many woman patients who are victims of domestic violence and society’s ill-treatment. She thought if she is a doctor she could treat them and console them but if she is an IPS or its officer she can prevent the ill-treatment against women and protect them from the anti-social elements. She appeared for a civil exam and she became an IPS officer.
She tells us that it was never a question of becoming an IPS officer or doctor it was always her pursuing her passion or interests. Even after she became an IPS officer she started accepting the challenges of her career as a flow of life which was part of her journey to good for a woman. She gives the same message for youth, no matter you are looking for how to be it or why it is or any career choice, you always have to accept life as a beautiful flow, where the fun lies in accepting challenges and taking them to the next level. Her talk is a real inspiration to all Andhra Pradesh and Telangana people.
