Very valid point in terms of marketing, they lack some details. There are hardly any details about their app per product. Yet their app is what makes their light strips so powerful and standalone from their competition

That’s really cool Ken! I’m about to make a video on how you can set an addressable strip with “ambilight” effect using a video card with loopback, a raspberry pi and a dash of patience. Hopefully during March I’ll man-up and record my take on how to do it.

I was actually thinking of getting and ambilight led strip for my widescreen monitor. If you can manage to achieve the same effect with some kind of work around that would make an awesome video for anyone wanting to try it out at home! Can’t wait to see your video! 👀😎🤙

I think the coated one also looks brighter on camera due to the caustics of the coating. The light is transported to the coating as well as the height. This seems to have lots of advantages. Im no tech guru, but i wonder how much influence that small amount of amp and volts has. its like 0.5 watt and 6 volts more.

Both can handle Goovee Home App i guess, the smaller box is the Wifi so that can do it for sure. Kinda weird the packaging doesnt state it.. Design is perhaps a but older.

Does anybody know if you can buy 2 led strips and connect them both? For example buy 2 strips of 10 meters and join them both (like a usb connection). Thank you and great video btw

Its a pitty we dont have as much control over those segmented lights as their provided setups. In the video we see it do some sort of chase, that we can only do with segments. not like single led by led liek they have it controlled.

I didnt get your point about the brightness. You stated the left was brighter vs right one, then you state that the left one is actually brighter. I was expecting the other way around the way you mentioned it?

Kinda weird they dont show RGBIC on the front packaging?! I also was expecting a different control box for the WIFI version. Guess the other one is just more empty inside. I dont like the bluetooth connectivity, its slow

Another things is that they should market their product numbers better. Trying to find a product based on what we see in the images and the box hardly show the proper result

I'm assuming the app only works on the strip supplied & if you join 2 strips together the app wont work ?

I did not try that out Nigel. But I am pretty sure it will work with no problem. The app will work with as many strips as you wish.

Hello!!! I need to know if the RGBIC LEDs work without always being plugged in. Does the battery charge like a cellphone? How long does the battery last? I need to light up a piece of art and don't want wires showing on the wall and floor. Thank you very much!

No Alice. You need to have them plugged in. They do not have a battery pack. Would you like me to see if I can find an alternative and post it to you here in the comments?

I find the product on the right a bit of false marketing. The packaging, which is really a nice design, shows different colors throughout the strip. This is misleading! Not everyone knows that only RGBIC can do that. I dont quite understand why they would use a design like this. I guess they wanted to show the light can shift color, but now it looks like its an RGBIC product

I would recommend it. You will get a much smoother and consistent lighting effect. The led strip will also be better protected. Later on if you change your strip, you will always be able to re use the diffuser. They are not that expensive land I believe you will get a much professional looking lighting setup than without it.
