@@z34n do you want to get even more upset? Remember in season one when it took fire to burn a white and even a dismembered hand could be animated independently? Yeah now everyone just kills zombies with normal weapons. Remember how dragonglass was a big deal in creating the night king and defeating white walkers? That went absolutely nowhere. Why did the night king need Craster‘s babies when he could just animate endless corpses? The long night lasted like what? One night?

The list goes as follows I think; Podrick Payne, Sam Tarly, Shireen Baratheon, Gilly, Lyanna Mormont, Ned stark, Ser Barristan Selmy, Tyrion Lannister (show version of Tyrion is just a good dude unlike the books iteration of Tyrion), Ser Davos Seaworth, Brienne of fucking Tarth, and Missandei. I don’t think I’m missing anyone. I’m definitely missing book characters who are good people (like tyrions friend Penny who he’s really mean too but she’s still very nice to him) but I can’t remember them all because there’s way more compared to the show.

@@overcomingsins6334 no I don't agree with all of that, while I do agree that no child is intitled to their parent's money, every child is intitled to their parent's love period! And while he did lie to his father, his dad was slim and a misogynistic jerk, there are also people who simply cannot lose weight at all no matter what they do. However as the inheritence laws stand, Sam was entitled to the sword after a fashion, and there is also the issue that not all people are able to become a warrior at all, and while we are on the subject of ways out, Sam originally wanted to and did study, but his father was against him being so studious. Sam was originally willing to step aside and become a Maester, but his father couldn't handle the idea of a member of his family becoming 'a slave' as he called it. There is more than one way to be a man, and his father was too blinded by pride to see any other option, and again threatened to kill him. (By the way I do enjoy debate, so if you have a rebuttal please post back and we can continue.) And while yes he did take his sister's clothes without asking, judging by how he had described his relationship with his mother and sisters she probably would not have minded, and likely wouldn't have reported them missing except to their mom, accepting that her brother had needed them for something if they pieced that much together.

I would love to see Widow’s Wail melted back down and perhaps forged into something new for Sansa. Perhaps not a sword, but something more like a glaive, or a Japanese naginata; something that would make sense for a noblewoman of her stature to use, more than a traditional sword, as it’s designed to allow a smaller fighter to take on someone much larger than themselves. And as a result, has a much more “feminine” feel to it. I think fashioning Widow’s Wail, which was made from Ice, into a woman’s glaive would be perfect for the Queen of the North. A graceful, feminine, but still very lethal weapon that carries the memory of the Stark ancestors with it.

It's pretty good to see how Lyanna does not bash on Jorah for the dishonor he's given to House Mormont, seeing he changed, calling him "cousin" to acknowledge their kinship whilst wishing him good luck. Unfortunately Jorah was right: had Lyanna listened to her older and more experienced cousin, she could've survived in the crypts and House Mormont would still live on thought her. If he claimed back his role as head of their house, Jorah could've saved Lyanna by ordering her to stay safe. But now the rains weep on their hall and not a soul to hear...

Like learning more about the properties of Valyrian Steel at the Citadel. But, instead it's this contrived scene of Sam giving it to Jorah so they can close this plotline hastily. No mention of the sword again, and Sam is somehow Grand Maester after its all done. People are pretty easy to please if they think this was good writing.

The only concern there was old mummified Starks, and they had no reason to prioritize fear of them over fear of the night kings active soldiers. Sam’s entire character is based on the fact that he starts off as a coward whose own father doesn’t deem him worthy to carry this sword. He then grows throughout the series becoming more brave and confident as he seeks to protect Gilly, Jon, and uphold his vows. His arc should have ended with him wielding this sword, evidencing his growth and how is now the worthy heir of Horn Hill. Instead, he gives it to a person he met like once in the whole series in one episode, has no bearing on his character at all, and who serves the queen that executed his family. THEN, he goes on to fight in the battle anyway, but without his family’s sword. Shitty writing.
