One of the greatest things about Fleetwood Mac and more specifically the Stevie/Lindsey drama, was the music that came from it. It's so raw and real, especially the whole entirety of the Rumors album, almost all us have known those feelings at one time or another but none of us could say it so beautifully and poetically as they did and all while playing to each other

  • @ebenclukey7293

It's so real and it's her and Lindsay standing there dealing with it. They were together a long time and went through some of the biggest moments of their lives together. He still loved her. She still loved him. It just didn't work. Their strength allowed the art and us to win. I appreciate that.

This song is deep and lovely. I think it is an amazing example of how songs can be a mirror to the listener's soul. You hear in it what you need to hear, and it can mean different things to different people. It can also mean different things to the same person at different times in their life. Brilliant song.

So true. Landslide at 47 vs when I was 16 tugs at my heart in completely different ways. It doesn’t even have to be a romantic relationship that it speaks to. At the stage of my life I’m in now... the change in my life is my children leaving the nest. It still resonates.

If you REALLY want to see magic unfold on stage....Look this up: "Fleetwood Mac - Silver Springs - The Dance -1997" It's about her relationship with the guitarist that is right next to her on stage. When she turns that microphone at the end and stares directly into his eyes, there is NO ONE ELSE in that ENTIRE room. She is singing directly to him. Expressing all of their love, all of their grief and all of their loss, right there on that stage for everyone to see. It's UNBELIEVABLE to watch!

Her musical career was failing and her dad gave her six months to get it together or get a 'real job'. Her "love" in this song and "dreams" are her music but she realises she's getting older and had to find another path. Luckily Fleetwood mac came along 3 months later!

@Dahoss I agree, but there must have been something emotional going on. In an interview, Lindsay said something about that she's never married, and he's moved on and gotten married, and so he thinks that this is part of the problem, and in this "Landslide", and, another concert take on it, there was emotion eminating from both parties. I saw Stevie in concert a couple years back on her solo tour. Great concert, where before every song, she gave a brief history behind it. She didn't talk about Lindsay at all, tho.

  • @kiasman0114

@Dahoss it was actually more of Lindsey wanting them to put off touring for a year or so and Stevie had no interest in waiting so she told Mick either get someone to replace him or she would just go back on a solo tour. Obviously her and Lindsey have never resolved their feelings. She dumped him 40 years ago but still tries to hold on to a piece of him. He moved on but you can still see the way he looks at her that she definitely has a piece of his heart. Celebs are as crazy as the rest of us

at the end of the day this is one of the great songs of all time. THIS is why old folks like me have lost hope for music in todays world and worry that we have lost the ability to recognize great music.. It is why I enjoy channels like yours it gives me hope. You keep doing what you do young lady, I hope you can expose your generation to this type of music so we can take a turn and this generation can begin to produce its own version of truly meaningful high quality music, it is so rare today a song here or there an artist now and then but this was a time when we were all flooded with great song, great artist great bands one after another songs that you folks listen to and realize they are great never made it near number one in that time because there were 100 others just as good and someone had to lose. Today if a good song comes out it soars to number one cuz there is so little goos music and daily there are mediocre songs at number one because they are the best of all the awful stuff out there..anyway off my soapbox keep exposing your generation to great songs like this I hope it helps!!

This song makes me think about my parents. My dad died of cancer in 2011, and he had been married to my mom for 36 years, since they were 19 years old. She built her life around him and had to start over when he died. The lyrics hit me hard for that reason.

She and the guitarist had been in a relationship years before. Their energy is moving to this day! I’m still not sure what the song is about but sure does work with the two of them love. You’re a joy btw!

You should do "Go your own way" by Fleetwood Mac. It is a break up song between Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks both members of Fleetwood Mac

Stevie Nicks was at a cross road back in the early 1970s when she wrote this song. She was determining whether or not to keep pursuing her music dream and relationship with Lindsey Buckingham (the guitarist in the video) or walk away. This song was never released as a single but is one of Stevie's (and Fleetwood Mac's) most memorable songs. This version is from The Dance released in 1997.

This song was written in Aspen in 1973 (She was just 25) Stevie Nicks has been left alone by her boyfriend Lindsey Buckingham(who is playing guitar) while he went on tour with the Everly Brothers. Buckingham Nicks had released their eponymous album that year to no commercial success, and that failure was her Landslide. This is the question if she will be successful, they were asked to join Fleetwood Mac NYE of 1974. This version was recorded 1997

Also. Stevie; my gypsy 👑 . She's legendary. Of the musical loves of my life Stevie and Olivia Newton-John 💗🕊 are all I have left. Only 52 years on this planet. I'm still playing catch up on your videos. A great and underrated song by Stevie is Highway Man from the Belladonna album. Gypsy and Sara are all time faves. Rhiannon is so good and DREAMS is a classic. Great video India. Like the way you throw out the song facts and your interpretation was great.

The pleasure of watching these videos is that you are watching someone discover something you've already known, so it's like you're rediscovering it with fresh eyes. The song is very personal and touches everyone in similar but different ways. If you've heard this song a few times you've already made your interpretations.

Lindsey Buckingham was in my physical therapy classes. Really nice guy, I didn’t want to bother him for a picture because we were all doing therapy all the time but he took one with my 12 yr old daughter He was surprised she knew him. She told him we’re big fans I’ve been listening to Fleetwood Mac since I was born😊 he loved it

You're so good at the interpretations India. Indeed, Stevie and Lindsey Buckingham (the guitarist) who were in Fleetwood Mac together, actually they were romantically and musically together before FM and after several years with the FM band they broke up but they did so in front of the world through their music. All of us old folks got to see it unfolding across the years and it's beautiful to see Stevie and Lindsey still love each other after all these decades, even though they have both moved on with their lives.
