I remember when Clockwerk's cogs were in square formation and you could push Roshan up and back down an inaccessible cliff. My friend showed it to me, I'm not sure where he got it from, but it couldn'tve been very well known at the start because 9/10 I used it no one in the lobby knew about it. So there was about a 3 week period where whatever team had Clock controlled the entirety of Roshan if they knew the exploit. After that 3 weeks they changed the cogs from square to circle, but I don't remember if he was ever removed from competitive for it.

Sand King had a bug where epicenter shard would proc every tick and they removed him temporarily while they fixed it. Not before I lost MMR to it though!

20:40 does dota 1 count? Invoker was only in patch 6.10 iirc (when he had 27 spells), then taken out in 6.11 and i can't remember when he was added back I might be horribly wrong tho, brain no good no more

Tbh if ringmaster has a mind control ability I feel like he'll have custom abilities that the controlled hero will use instead of their own So like you control the hero, for example tidehunter, but have like a rubber hammer ability that slaps an friendly hero for x damage and stuns them instead of one of the basic ones. Thematically it makes sense, because he's forcing them to "act" in a way, like yo juggle this, hit that, jump over this hoop, etc. That way you still have control over the enemy hero while not actually using their own abilities.

Since the aegis replica from last year hasn't been delivered yet, my guess is that valve also forgot about that ahaha

The deeper relationship between Saudi/EWC and Valve is becoming more and more transparent. We are starting to have major patches released literally the day before a group stage (2 times so far? Dreamleague and EWC). I guess the rumors that have been going on for a year are true and EWC and TI will be merged within the next 2 years. Right now the only thing TI offers on the table is the name on the Aegis in the game and Valve has shown they dont want to work on esports or events (as the new DPC is essentially fully ran by ESL/EWC). Operationally it makes a lot of sense - EWC is building an entire stadium and investing 13 bn Euro, runs the tournaments year round with the biggest prize pools, is currently building an entire stadium for this and hell you wont even really have Visa issues unlike a TI in US, Europe or Asia. There is the big sportswashing issue, but just like with top dollar sports like F1 and soccer, its just a marketing bill.

Any time there's a bug like that Meepo exploit in the game, every single immortal game is completely unplayable and ruined because there's always at least 2-3 people in the game trying to abuse the bug and get free wins. Yeah it's annoying to lose mmr to it but it's not a big deal. It's cheating but cheating when the game is in a state where it's completely unplayable anyway. I'll never really understand the pearl clutching on this topic, I really think people just use the bugs because it's funny for the novelty. I've certainly lost way more mmr to bugs like that than I've gained from my team using them but it is what it is, it's so rare compared to things like intentional feeding or item breaking that it doesn't even register on my radar as an issue

i wouldnt even consider pudge chen combo a bug. Techincally it was a bug but they didnt fix it and put it as a feature cause it required skill. Fountain hook has been there since dota 1 days. They only patched it after navi's game.

What "awful" take? It was a complete non-take, typical of this podcast. Nothing too controversial, cheating bad, gorgc shouldn't have done it but apologized, mason stoking the flames, mmr should be reverted for games with exploits. This is nothing brave or unique. It's a common populist take.
