Man I absolutely love watching competent rolling. So satisfying! I'd not heard of Asare; he was a great training partner.
Damn, that kid did way better than I expected, good for him. My favorite part of how Gordon rolls is that he never tries to do anything super fast or forceful like many others. His movements are purposeful, controlled, constant pressure, cutting off angles of escape.....I tell kids I roll with , watch Gordon, does he go super nuts or spastic? No, he doesn't even have to move fast. At 45, I've tried to emulate this style and it has served me well against the young spazoids.

Today's grappling is very much about speed and athleticism. Gordon looks not to depend on this. He's obviously strong, but he doesnt rely on it

I love that Gordon never appears to crank on submissions. They are either done properly or he moves on until the setup is correct. And he seems to give people enough time to tap.
@capehote4220
7 ай бұрын
Well that's not always true. You can see that for sweep and takedown he does increase its speed of execution. There is a need for this element of surprise to taking your opponent off balance. I think you have to find the perfect combo between three two and not mistaking speed with hurry.
Gotta say Gordon looks like the best training partner.
@JohnDoe-ce6eb

In terms of professionalism yes, but he does look pretty fucking sombre to the point where you have no clue if he’s actually enjoying the roll; it’s quite intimidating. That room always looks silent as fuck as if everyone was scared of exchanging any kind fucking word of any sort for fear of being seen as weak lol. Maybe it’s just when the Flo cameras are on, but c’mon crack a fucking smile every now and then.
