If you're interested in what happened to the restaurant after Kitchen Nightmares: Leone's in Montclair, NJ is still open. Yelp reviews since filming are mostly positive with the odd off service/dish. Trip Advisor reviews are more mixed and also suggest the service has off days. Chef's Carchi and Darryl were fired after filming. Michael is still there but staff reveal that he is there a few hours and spends the rest of the time in a local bar. Sadly Rosemary Leone passed away on 5th April 2014

Out of most owners in these restaurants Gordon visited, Michael changed his ways pretty quick and did well and wasnt too arrogant or in denial. Atleast he changed for the best is what im Saying.

Rose was joking around. What she really wanted was a son like Gordon. Smart, full of energy, the one that will carry on with her legacy and make her business flourish. But all she got was a pair of useless [swear word of choice], one is a work shy, lazy ass, and another one is a freak. The restaurant is still open apparently, but that's not thanks to Michael, who still sits on his ass watching football, it's thanks to the people who work for him. Trudy is awesome, she just always tells it as it is and works hard, also very good hearted.

As an Italian, I wouldn't say "I knew" that the first time I cooked clams. It just seemed like common fucking sense to run it under water.

Once Gordon reorganised the place with new menu and new electronic ordering system the kitchen and front of the house adapted instantly and worked almost perfectly. You can really tell mama Rosa put together an amazing team in her prime. All they lacked was management and direction.

"If it doesn't work out, I will have no other choice but to die." This hurts. She'd rather die than close the restaurant. Shows how much the restaurant meant for her, and her son just doesn't have the same level of passion as her.

I love how disgusted the cook is with his own menu. When even he hesitates to taste it something must be seriously wrong.

One of the few restaurants that are still open. Most close after filming. Glad to hear that, honestly. Hopefully Mama Rose was proud while it lasted.

That is my FIRST chore whenever I get into a new kitchen. A deep clean and total inventory.

I’m sure many have said the fact before me here, but I’m gonna join the choir, and say that Mama Rose is one of the most wholesome persons in this series overall

I love how sweet Gordon was to mama

I am not a very emotional person, people say that the decades I spent as a paramedic dealing with trauma and those who are passing hardened me, but Rose is a beautiful soul. When I read she had passed away at a young age (64) I came very close to tears. The fact that Michael not only improved but in 2024 still owns the restaurant with a 4.2 rating on Google is impressive. Ten years after she passed, she looking down on him and smiling.

I’ve watched many episodes of kitchen nightmares but this one made me fill up with tears. Mama Rose is the sweetest lady ever and Michael is a great son. The staff are all fantastic too. I sincerely wish them all the best.

I think I relate to Michael and it is really pleasing to see him grow throughout the episode. Got interested and searched about them and it is very nice to know that they are still operating.
