Gordon Murray T50 SCREAMING V12 SOUNDS on TRACK!!!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
I witnessed the public debut of the GMA (Gordon Murray Automotive) T50 on track where the car reached its incredible 12,000 RPM rev limit. The 3-seat hypercar is powered by a naturally-aspirated V12 engine coupled with a manual gearbox and is heavily inspired by the McLaren F1 (also coincidentally spotted in the car park).

@Jose Bernal sadly the truth, it seems companies are building like "final send-off" cars for a category, Cadillac made the CT5-V BlackWing as a RWD Manual V8 performance sedan, Ford was rumored to make a 7.3 V8 Twin Turbo engine for the Ford GT which would be the final send-off for raw big engine V8 hypercars, it seems the all the companies are building these cars to end off the era and show what technology combined with raw performance can do

@@Big1_ And Mount Everest is just a very big old rock following that reasoning, doesn't make it any less spectacular. That's a McLaren F1 which is in itself pretty special. The one you see in this video is chassis #028, one of the only 2 red F1 on record. So yes, it's quite a rare sight. It was built especially for Michael Andretti by McLaren themselves as compensation after they decided to terminate Andretti’s contract to drive for them in Formula 1 after the 1993 Italian Grand Prix. The car could not be registered for road use in the US, and Andretti ended up selling it after a year. Ever since then the car has traveled to Japan and the US switching hands every now and then. It returned to the UK in 2014 and so far it seems it will stay there. Good to see it's still around and being used.

Incredible sound. The engine displacement and rev limit is that of a F1 V12 from the late 80's early 90's. Goes to show how far engine development has to where it can be made for use in a production car and not require a rebuild every few 100 km's! Will put all currenty hyper cars to shame from a sheer sound perspective and I have no doubt that it will set lap records!

For once and for all, it isn't Gordon's F1. I happen to know the owner and accompanied him to the event in it. Fyi, it's a wonderful machine and well worthy of all the plaudits it has received over the years. In time the T50 may become as desirable.
In 2006, I found a (then) brand new Bugatti Veyron in the dirt parking lot of a racetrack. It had far distant plates and was covered in bugs -- they'd obviously driven it quite a ways to get there. I thought that was about as insane a random dirt lot spot as anyone would ever make, but this F1 blows it out of the water.
I respect the HELL out of people who ACTUALLY drive their cars and not just use em as a Instagram flex. these cars are meant to be DRIVEN people!

1:30 omg that peel out was very very cool hahaha, and the scream of that Cosworth V12 is just beyond epic!
I prefer the rear treatment of the track version, well the removal of see through perforated panel aspect of it anyway. Supposedly on the track version the fan comes into play on low speed corners and those big defusers are for high speed. No doubt it looks stunning in close inspection viewing owing to most of the time you are looking down on it. You don't realize how tiny it must be till you see a driver in it. The road car has a relatively high stance I feel for the fan to be used to best effect. I get the feeling it is more used to substitute for high drag body work aero and for wing elimination than as a track focused ultimate down force generator. Keeping the practical daily driver aspect is commendable.

No the road car is high because it needs 140 mm of ground clearance for the road. It's passive suspension. Active suspension and hydraulics and lifters would have drastically increased weight. The front lifter on many cars weighs as much as 35 kilos.

That T50S is not a functioning car, that's why it has a closed rear panel, otherwise it would only show an empty engine bay. You can see that the fan is closed as well. The functioning version will surely have a mesh panel like the T50.
Man, that YOWL! This thing can hit a note that Audrey Luna would have trouble matching. Its appearance is also very cool - like a McLaren F1 updated, and with the awkward bits like the tail-lights and air intakes rethought.
That sound is incredible! It reminds me of the Carrera GT engine sound.
THANK YOU! The video posted by Goodwood is nothing but the announcers talking. Can't hear the engine.

Murray left no stone unturned to design and build this car. The engine, obviuosly was a central point, for if it wasn't for Cosworth building a V12 revving at 12 thousand rpm, it would be just another supercar; a very special one, but not what it is.
That sound…And we didn’t even to get to hear it rev to 12,100. It’s just one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard or seen. I can’t wait to see Chris Harris review it. I mean I really can’t wait. Unbelievable! Thank you Gordon
