From Emmy Award-winning executive producer and creator Seth MacFarlane (FAMILY GUY, “Ted,” “Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey”), THE ORVILLE is a live-action, one-hour space adventure series set 400 years in the future that follows The Orville, a mid-level exploratory spaceship. Its crew, both human and alien, face the wonders and dangers of outer space, while also dealing with the familiar, often humorous problems of everyday life. The ensemble series stars MacFarlane as the ship’s Commanding Officer, Ed Mercer, and Adrianne Palicki (“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Friday Night Lights”) as his ex-wife, Kelly Grayson, who’s assigned as his First Officer. It's rare for me to find a TV show where I really like all the characters, and the Orville really has a terrific cast. Every single one, and they have great chemistry. Scott's character might be my favorite. I'm a little bummed that Palicki didn't get her spinoff from Agents of SHIELD, but I'm really enjoying her in the Orville. 😊

I agree. Also Scott is my fav but I like all the characters. I love this show and just got a new person hooked on it. Yay!
I'm really glad they finally took an episode to focus on Gordon and give him a bit more depth! More Gordon please!

I like how this story of Gordon taking the command test ends with him asking why Ed would do something that could land him with a very heavy court marshal and then Grayson going “that’s command...are you still in?”
I'm just waiting for Scott Grimes to start singing about command. Or was that only something American Dad's Steve Smith does? 😁

sbmphr, I agree with you only too well. That’s why I made it a policy never to date a coworker long ago. However, some people do meet their future spouses at work places. At one job I held years ago, there were five couples who met and later got married as a result of working together. My own brother met his wife while working at a restaurant. Obviously it worked out, since they have been married for nearly 24 years, and they have a daughter. Bottom line, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t.
Try to go for our dream , maybe it's not match with our personality but we should give it a world whose know we might enjoy it

I remember later in the episode Kelly asked him why he wanted to take the command test and asked if status was important to him like that was a bad thing, but don't they measure currency by status/personal achievements? Him wanting to be rich is a bad thing?
So, Gordon learns to stay in his lane...
He is only doing it too get a Girlfriend.
I bet this causes cancer.
Is it me or the second series has lost the edge the first series had, I’m finding I could just say to my self (Hu! Ok so it’s on I can’t be bothered) because they’ve tried to make it better and in the process it’s lost that edge, or is it just me??
