What should Rhys Mckee have done differently against Chimaev yesterday? Breakdown on how to prevent wrist ride/dagestani handcuff, and how to deal with the leg triangle/leg riding. You commented on Mcgregor's strategy after the Khabib fight, would be very interesting to see how you suggest dealing with it!

Yeah would love to see the King's take on using and escaping that position! For me, I generally go belly down or turtle, and then it just becomes a standard wrestling-style wrist ride (if no leg hooks are in) or something like a cross body ride (if the leg hook is in on the opposite leg). Either way, clearing the wrist is pretty easy from here, just extend the arm and circle it out. If the opposite leg hook is in, he will often switch to a power half, so I would sit to my butt and clear legs just like in wrestling (if he's my size) or stand up (if I were stronger). In grappling I feel it's not that bad of a situation, just need to be mindful of the other leg hook (ie, on the same side as the wrist that is captured) and seal off if necessary, and keep the chin tucked to prevent the choke. It is tiring to escape so I wouldn't want to get trapped there a bunch of times, but if it's just a one-time situation, I don't feel it's inescapable. In MMA, as with any inferior position, everything needs to be done with a lot of speed and urgency to minimize the number of punches taken.

What did Carla Esparza twice do wrong going for a straight ankle locks against Marina Rodriguez to prevent her from getting punched in the face and finishing? Seems like her coaches wanted her to do it and it was a part of her strategy. Has a straight ankle lock ever worked in mma? Did she need to turn it into a heel hook or at least get higher on toes and make it a "toe hold" ankle lock?

Start making your own kombucha! You just need water, black tea, sugar, and a scoby. If you time your batches out right and have enough jars going, and you'll never run out! But be sure to drink through a straw, the acidity will start to wear out your teeth and stain them and shit. Thanks for the JJ knowledge! I'm really enjoying this series.

A lot of times, fighters in the ufc seem to be really ineffective from bottom of closed guard. Of course it's all easier said than done, but I'd like to see your thoughts on what they should be doing. One female fighter this weekend was playing closed guard and literally kept pushing on her opponent's shoulders... I have no idea why. A few other guys played closed guard and seemed to have zero offense. I feel like with the top-positioned fighter throwing punches, a good option would be going into a pinch headlock to the back (with plan B being to switch to the armbar if they step up the near leg to block the back take). But again, I'm saying that from my couch.
