I dont think so Werdum was fresh and dry
What should Rhys Mckee have done differently against Chimaev yesterday? Breakdown on how to prevent wrist ride/dagestani handcuff, and how to deal with the leg triangle/leg riding. You commented on Mcgregor's strategy after the Khabib fight, would be very interesting to see how you suggest dealing with it!

Yeah would love to see the King's take on using and escaping that position! For me, I generally go belly down or turtle, and then it just becomes a standard wrestling-style wrist ride (if no leg hooks are in) or something like a cross body ride (if the leg hook is in on the opposite leg). Either way, clearing the wrist is pretty easy from here, just extend the arm and circle it out. If the opposite leg hook is in, he will often switch to a power half, so I would sit to my butt and clear legs just like in wrestling (if he's my size) or stand up (if I were stronger). In grappling I feel it's not that bad of a situation, just need to be mindful of the other leg hook (ie, on the same side as the wrist that is captured) and seal off if necessary, and keep the chin tucked to prevent the choke. It is tiring to escape so I wouldn't want to get trapped there a bunch of times, but if it's just a one-time situation, I don't feel it's inescapable. In MMA, as with any inferior position, everything needs to be done with a lot of speed and urgency to minimize the number of punches taken.

It is what Danaher always tell. It is normal .
I really hope people share and recommend Gord's channel. It's too good to let it go to waste
Man this combined with the DVD’s - mind blown. From South Africa with mad respect ✊
Awesome video! Really appreciate seeing your breakdowns and sick transition into cross ashi in the end 👌 how Werdum put Gustafson on his back from belly down armbar would be nice breakdown
Glad to have seen these two videos. I’ve been trying to learn knee bars and leg locks more being a blue belt but still tryna have an opened mind grappling
Great stuff as usual. Keep the videos coming!
Great content and I like that it's not cut and snipped perfectly, in that way it is very natural and real.
Kombucha is so easy to make. You need a King Ryan Kombucha brand!
Can we get a No-Gi vs Gi debate for MMA/Pure No-Gi comps video? You're opinion on Gi guys saying 'statistically' Gi participants win more comps than just No-Gi specialists at No-Gi. Plus the Gi being phased out in the US in the next decades.
Love your analysis, thanks for sharing!
Awesome video, lots of high technical details and tips. Please make one about the Crush Shoulder position(how you discovered and refined the movement)and the magical one applied on Buchecha during ADCC final.Valeuuu Irmão Osssssssss
For the time being I dont care what you breakdown here, anythng you breakdown is gold.
this channel had so much promise
Great content, 10min and super informative! I don't think you need anything more fancy than that! Thanks !
Can you breakdown the Zabit Magomedsharipov vs Brandon Davis Kneebar?

Perfect. Keep them coming.
Definitely do Werdum's armbar over Gustafsson and how he could've possibly defended it
Man this is awesome. Gordon, please do a breakdown on some of Palhares submissions and what you thought of his leg attacks.
Great video, keep them coming!!!
Sick! Defensive stuff is always a plus
Do a Gordon Ryan's garage Q and A Most interviewers ask you the most terrible questions..most the questions I see in these comments are way better
Awesome detail, man. Great video.
Great breakdown. Thank you
You seem happy. Good stuff man. Keep up the great work
Awesome tutorial. Thank you 🤙🏾
Just UFC reactions as far as grappling in general would be sick
Love The Free Content Gord!
Awesome detail on hiding the knee during a calf slicer with inside triangled legs.
Thanks. Danaher and Ryan are big influences on how I teach my son JJ.
Good stuff King...would love to see your take for setting up and finishing an arm triangle from mount.
I would love to see you breakdown garry's fights over in one. He's had some beautiful matches, with lots of great moves
Love it love it love it love it, keep it up
Great breakdowns! Would love to see a hand fighting/trapping series from back control with body lock. See a lot of guys getting to this position and having difficulty actually getting a finish against someone with decent back defense (i.e. Demian maia vs jorge masvidal)
could you cover some of your own training/practicing methodologies? focused drilling, rolling hard, flowing etc?
Awesome 👏🏻
Of course we enjoy it. Our king has spoken
Thats great. Keep them coming!! Breakdown Ffion Davis triangle/armbar finish on Bia Mesquita
Revive this channel 🙏
Werdum armbar vs Gustaffson
No joke. These are so awesome. You already know that King Ryan. Straight forward and getting us to the nitty gritty! I’m a big fan of the enter the systems but this is just great additional help for those who are to poor, naive, stupid idiots etc not to get them :) lol 😂 thanks again
Amazing Thank you!!
That was Awesome 👌
Oh shit, some game changing details in there!
This is great! keep it up
Great vid. Keep it up sir.
best grappling breakdown
Thanx champs 🥇🥇🔥🔥
it was sick indeed :) subbed!
It’s so crazy how knowledgeable you are and how cognisant you are when it comes to positional awareness, hiding limbs, exposing your opponents limbs etc etc. Idk if that’s a credit to the Guru John Danaher or just from experience and repetition. Whatever it is, just don’t stop what you are doing. You can’t imagine or comprehend the effect that you’re leaving on us folks 💯
Super sick
Thank you for the new channel! Content ideas: Old ADCC Marcello breakdowns Ryan Hall v BJ Penn Werdum v Gus Your next tattoo Give Away ideas: Aren't we getting enough with the free content? Thank you!
Great info videos and good on keepin it to the point but also having a little extra in there
Great breakdowns. Loved if you could breakdown Joe Solecki standing rear naked choke. Cheers!
The King has spoken! 🤴
I used to think BJJ was the most boring thing in the world, but over the years I have started watching more and more of it and I never thought I would say this,it's actually really interesting,I don't know all the ins and outs but I'm slowly getting to know more about it,I love watching yourself and Gary Tonon, respect, Scotland 👍💯
This channel should have way more subscribers got mine sub today didn’t know u had a channel good shit bro looking forward to some more dope moves from the Beast him self 💪🏽🤙🏽👑
I would love to see details on how one could apply leg locks in a street fight situation. I love leg locks and I would love to be able to apply, finish, or control my opponent using them.
As usual I subscribed really quick to my favorite grappler do you mind making a butterfly guard video since my birthday is coming up. 😭😌
Can you break down the Lachlan Giles vs Patrick Gaudio 2019 ADCC match. I’m not sure if you are willing to go over 10 minutes for a video but I loved the set up of that leg lock in that match!!!
Still waiting the release date of your Leglocks dvd!!!
Exelent tecniques thanks fibras 👽👽⚡⚡⚡💯
Would like to know your opinion on leg locks in mma in general would love to see a video highlighting pros and cons. Thanks 😊
So awesome
Great vid king 👑 Thoughts on Ryan hall vs Damian Maia bjj for Mma, what makes there jiu jitsu so effective, would love to hear a break down oss!
I just started jujitsu 2 months ago. I can you cover basics. Closed guard, half-guards, butterfly, x guard. Ty
Can you go over some fundamental concepts for utilizing jiujitsu for MMA? What are some things one should focus more time on than others?
Great vids :) Shit the thing people want the most is that mat at this point with all the gyms shutdown. #garagegrappling
You got to try left field kombucha from Scotland. It's so good and all tea based.
What did Carla Esparza twice do wrong going for a straight ankle locks against Marina Rodriguez to prevent her from getting punched in the face and finishing? Seems like her coaches wanted her to do it and it was a part of her strategy. Has a straight ankle lock ever worked in mma? Did she need to turn it into a heel hook or at least get higher on toes and make it a "toe hold" ankle lock?
Shout out for huge fan of yours from the Philippines!!!What took you so long to do this?
Yeah the outside calf slicer was the one that Charles olives did. Very unusual submission
This is great king. When are you going to shoot another one?
Can you please show what to do if you are in butterfly guard and elevating them into "single ashi" and they counter by squeezing their legs together to counter the "single ashi".
Gordon can be a bit of a cocky smartass but he backs it up, honestly he seems like the nicest dude in general, bit unfair all the hate he gets. Good teacher too.
Can we see a breakdown of Garry Tonon vs Eddie Cummings at EBI 3
Hey Gordon you are the best, u have to slap galvao every time u see him jajaja keep doing your shit, Get a hug from Spain, we love u!!!🤙🏻
Could you do a video to avoid double unders, or smash/pressure passing opponents? Thanks
Im so sad that such an amazing young champions channel doesnt get the attention it deserves so now for Gordon is not worth make more videos anymore
🔥
Can you break down your guard retention tactics when opponents try passing to north south, like what you used against Felipe pena many times in your studio 540 match?
Great Snaatch at 338...
Gordon can you do a jiu jitsu begginer's series ? My friends don't know how to start, as there aren't many good teachers in our country.
Would you have an MMA fight? If so, who would you like to fight?
Start making your own kombucha! You just need water, black tea, sugar, and a scoby. If you time your batches out right and have enough jars going, and you'll never run out! But be sure to drink through a straw, the acidity will start to wear out your teeth and stain them and shit. Thanks for the JJ knowledge! I'm really enjoying this series.
🐐💥
Love the content! Did you catch the fights last night? Johnny Munoz tried to go for a last minute calf slicer in the third round and triangled his legs to the inside, is this a technical issue or do you think this high level jiu jitsu mma fighters don’t respect other fighters Jiu-Jitsu? Love to hear your opinion?
Love your work man, i am you student! Sucess
Nathalia should demonstrate how to do the Boston crab on Gordon.
Hey King, I'd love to see you break down some of Khabib's ground game!
what do you think about priorizing the armbar over ther back choke as Werdum did with Gustafson??
*The MOUNTED CRUCIFIX that killed a BJJ BLACKBELT Herbert Burns!* Show us the correct defense KING!
A lot of times, fighters in the ufc seem to be really ineffective from bottom of closed guard. Of course it's all easier said than done, but I'd like to see your thoughts on what they should be doing. One female fighter this weekend was playing closed guard and literally kept pushing on her opponent's shoulders... I have no idea why. A few other guys played closed guard and seemed to have zero offense. I feel like with the top-positioned fighter throwing punches, a good option would be going into a pinch headlock to the back (with plan B being to switch to the armbar if they step up the near leg to block the back take). But again, I'm saying that from my couch.
Nice breakdown! I’m a knee bar hunter. The guys at the gym know I have a leg fetish lol they hate it. Lol
Hey Gordon, could you adress defending the Khabib pass in mma someday? How would you defend his leg wrapping?
