I collected 212 jumps in my Army career. Watching this makes me nostalgic up until the plf...then it makes my whole body hurt.

Dam dude...212? I spent four years with the 82nd and only had 37 jumps

Brings back good memories. Shithooks were fun, but jumping from a Huey was better in my opinion. Thanks for this, trooper. All the way.

German 1st Airborne Division between 1978 and 1990. Jumping from a chopper was my absolute favourite. I miss it big time! Thanks for the video man. Brought back a lot of cool memories!

those chutes were fun to fly. I see the gigantic bouncy houses that are being jumped now that don't have toggle controls, just pulling risers like before.

As a former Airborne Instructor, that was not feet and knees together when he made contact with the ground. That could have been a real world injury

That definitely wasn’t feet and knees together! But with the MC-6 you could brake yourself before hitting the ground by pulling both the toggles! It was frowned upon, but it worked 😂

Dear Sgt. Austin Berner, thank you for your service and scarifies! The boot-mounted gopro was a great idea and you look awesome in this video!! Very interesting to watch how you are actually "maneuvering" your parachute. Kudos to USA Military Channel for uploading this !

Ugh. Wish they had gopros when I was in. Best S/L I had was out of a OV-10. For those of you that don't know it dives in and pulls up and it shits you out. Its pretty cool. The first guy has the Eticket seat, just a little cargo strap to keep you in and your feet dangle out.

Keep those feet and knees together airborne! That was a crappy plf. Unfortunately, I typically only had three points of performance vs the instructed 5: feet, ass, head! 🤕 That's why my knees, back, hips and shoulder are crap. Still wouldn't have traded it.

The impact is equivalent to jumping over a 3rd floor balcony. Dude didn't have any equipment. Taking a Hollywood tour.
