FYI, not to sound condescending, but that was a terrible PLF. Should have been quartered into the wind and a forward roll. His landing could not have been worse.

The yellow smoke left no doubt which way the wind was blowing. Really easy to make sure you are not running with it!

Awesome!!! I've never jumped a Black Hawk, or an MC-6. All my chopper jumps were from Hueys with T-10, or MC1-1B chutes. The most fun was a tailgate jump from a C-123!!! Thanks for the upload, this really brings back memories!!!

I had the privilege of jumping this main before retirement compared to the other versions. Loved it.

Man, this guy is quiet! There's usually a few mumbling and expletives while coming down ( me ) 😎👍 Wish we had GoPros back in '70🤪

Just had my first blackhawk jump earlier today and oh man that was the best jump ive ever done

I did break to early. That's why I stalled and hit so hard. I love every jump. Those days are behind me now

So what was harder, hitting the ground or getting smacked on your helmet by the guy in charge who said “Go!”

Did that exact same jump out of a Huey at Fort Lee... HOOWAH!!!!!

I miss Hawk jumps!

We used to take the helos up to 7000 ft AGL....3 to 4 times for the day....loved it.....used to do our water jumps with them also.

I loved helo jumps. If it was a Huey, Blackhawk, or Chinook you could count me in.

Yup. Chopper blasts were great because you could count on three or four in a few hours.

Dope on a rope, as Ding Chavez would say! (In reference to the chute being deployed on the initial jump. I’m wondering if our service men and women also call it that?) thank you for your video! I came here looking for a better understanding of some jump training being described in my Tom Clancy book. This was helpful and very cool to see.

I have almost close to ten ch-47s a few Kasas but no Blackhawks. Man that jump looks fun.

Never got a Black Hawk jump but I did get a Chinook jump, oh they jump toggles when the guy first jumped out I was you better start slipping because I was eyeballing those trees but then was like oh never mind they good.

I thought it might be a first jump. Need to stay upwind, then quarter back and forth slowly upwind of the spot, button hook within the last 500 feet and PLF into the wind. Keep it up, practice and it will be second nature.. Good luck..

Are those the new 0 perocity canopies? Looked like they had some good hang time. The MC1B I use to jump were like jumping with a coffee filter. They didnt hold the air worth a shit, you defiantly better do a good PLF cause you were going to hit like a bag of shit.

Guy hit like shit because he pull the toggles down too soon. I wait until about 50ft then I fully extend down, almost a standing landing every time.

we jumped with the T10 later the MC-1 from UH-1.

Wow that looks so much easier....
