I have the first Falcon gimbal, and nice to know they listened to users and made it compatible with the media mod. And good tips on how to get better sound out of the media. I have a few of my subscribers tell me they got no audio out the media mod recently, and last time I used it I got another audit either. But I never got around to troubleshooting the issue. Another great video Danny, and thanks for sharing.

Danny, glad you updated us on the media mod mic, and the Hero10 settings. I was delaying my purchase of the media mod due to review's identifying mic concern. Also; the Falcon Plus looks like a great gimbal for the Hero10, Keep up the great videos.

I like how most of the video was just an ad for the falcon instead of actually talking about the topic titled.

Danny, I swear you are only days ahead of me. I was only thinking of looking for a decent gimbal for my gopro and "boom" you just did a video on one, likewise with the suction mount. Man you are going to send me broke 🤣 but I'm loving this journey.

It sounds so much better with the wind reduction off, I just got the hereo 10 , was testing it out today with the rode wireless go go mic, I had the wind reduction on, I am going to have to try it with it turned off. Good video thanks. I also got the same gimbal, it is still in the box, I will be testing that out next.

I just got this gimbal. I mainly got it for use in low light. I’ve built a system with my GoPro that allows it to be my only camera to shoot everything with. I hated lugging around a body with several lenses and batteries and everything. So I got a GoPro with the media mod and light mod. I have a few extra batteries and some nd filters. Now I have this gimbal for really smooth shots no matter what conditions I’m in. I hope they release an animated time lapse mode in the future for the falcon plus. Would be awesome to get some sweeping Timelapse’s.

Thanks for the info on the wind reduction. I recently bought the media mod because I wanted the line-in option for recording dj set. I figured it the mod mic sucked and was going to buy a small shotgun for the very few vlog videos I do but now I don't need to.

I was considering getting this gimbal for shooting youtube videos with my gopro, thank you for your video, it gave me more information that I was looking for!

Same I didn't really like the media mod mic as well. I actually made a full on audio comparison video with multiple Mics, but you are right when I turn off noise reduction it sounds better (at least more consistent)!!! Thanks!

This actually sounds a lot better! but did you compare it with the gopro's built in mics? Because i always thought the sounds from the built in mics on the hero 10 were really good

I’ve been postponing to buy the media mod cuz there are so many bad reviews on how weird it sounds. Glad to learn that it sounds better with the wind reduction off cuz I would hate to pay this much for something that comes together with mic but can’t be used 😅

Okay, I discovered you the other day, and I'll start by saying Great Stuff. You have been really helpful ... Debating our next GoPro. Thank you .... But now the reason for this message. This video is great, but in the fact that you are actually corrected yourself from a previous video. My wife was actually watching this video with me and she was really impressed by that. In previous video you slagged the mod, but this one you basically said you were wrong. She was like, "that's awesome, who would actually do that ... I'm going to subscribe just because of that." Loving your videos my guy. I have a video suggestion. I have a problem, I’m in Australia and shoot at 4K @ 24fps and set the anti-flicker to 50hz. But it still flickers under some lights, I found that changing my shutter speed from auto to 1/50 fixes this, but that also means that in bright light I’ll need ND filters which I am trying to avoid. Any suggestions??

Thanks for the tipp ;) I have the falcon plus too. But i have a problem. He turn's off after a few minutes. The Battery is full charged. i don't no why... and sometime. i do not have these problems.. :(

thankfully I see this before buying the media mod. Just curious about the rumour that the mod might drain your battery faster than using a port, do you have that problem when using it? BTW, nice videos on the action camera comparisions.

Hi i am having problem with gopro brand media mod, I have removed side cover before inserting to gopro media mod, I have gopro 9 and 10, my gopro media mod fits with with gopro9 but doesn't fit with gopro10...Can't be two different media mod between 9 and 10? It's so weird.

Does the Inkee Falcon have auto rotation for timelapse?

i am tired waiting the running or fast walking scene from that action camera using gimbal...only simple movement. is it worth to buy that gimbal to use with actiom camera.

I'm not finding this to be the case, Danny. Did you change the Wind setting with the cam out of the Mod? Because Wind is greyed out and n/a when both my 9s and 10s are installed in the Mod body (all cams on most recent firmware). I use a $15 Movo CM100 mic with a deadcat clipped to the thrumbscrew, and the audio is leagues better anything GoPro has to offer.

Does this gimbal have any object tracking ability?

If the gimbal was weather resistant (i.e. could use in the rain like you can with the media mod with all ports closed) then I feel this would be a worth while purchase. Otherwise the gimbal doesn’t match the capability of the camera. Even if it would increase the price by $50 it would make it worth while to me for use in low light conditions.

I need that Falcon plus!! Mic sounded awesome!

No you don’t the inkee falcon plus is crap. It’s jittery and shaky the footage without hypersmooth is unusable. The crane M3 might be expensive but it works

Dont waste your money. Its far to jittery

LOVE your videos. Your comment concerning being able to switch from front to rear mic while the recording ( I'm paraphrasing) here "Maybe they'll fix that in a future firmware update"... Doubtful. That's been an issue since the Hero 9 and the media mad. We just went ahead and invested in wireless mics. Problem solved.

Hi Danny, please make a dedicated video concerning the proper setup with media mod. As what you’ve said there’s no content talking about wind reduction settings. Your guide made a lot better result. Or you can just change the thumbnail or title to make it informative. 🙂 thanks a lot!

I have the GoPro 10 & the Falcon Plus. Who needs wind reduction when you have Davinci Resolve Studio with voice isolation capabilities.

Kudos for announcing you were mistaken about this Media Mod. Do you know if the lens mod is worth getting?

Just used my Inkee Falcon (not plus) and if i want the Reverse battery I simply press five times and you get exactly what hte plus does, but let me tell you, I made my own MM holder, and it works but BUT B U T T. Yep worked for a few but motors will give, wished I waited for one, also Inkee said tehy are getting Motion lapse in soon, still waiting and waiting,

I have just bought the media mod, wind reduction off and the mic's still sound so tinny and weird. I still think the internal mics are the best on the Go Pro.

Thank you for your comment. The GoPro internal Microphone does do a wonderful job and they are only getting better with each new camera they bring out.

Can you try use with a snapmount?

Nice tips and info .... Inkee should be paying you. Actually bought one because of you and my own research that shows a lot of other Gimbals don't work with the Media Mod! WTF?

I really wanted the media mod but every other reviewer put me off it. Now I've seen/heard this, I'm tempted again.

I also changed the bolts to black ones to make it look more smooth rather than a silver screw head on show 😀

This question is for anyone that has the falcon plus: Would I also be able to use the gimbal with my smartphone if I had a smartphone to gopro mount adapter? I'd be more apt to buy it if it worked on both action cams and smartphones. Awesome video Danny!

So just to verify turn off hypersmooth with the Gimbal and turn off noise reduction with the media mod, correct?

@DannyBlack Yes, I only got my Go pro the other day. And with the noise reduction on and the mod kit the sound was not very good . So it looks like it's way better turning it off.

Gopro hasnt needed a gimbal since the 9. 10+ definitely doesnt with horizon lock.

wind reduction in any camera worsens voice audio and should be turned off. wind noise should be prevented with wind muffs. make sure any camera youve got including zv1 has wind reduction turned off. good video.

I received my Falcon Plus gimbal .. Only 1 complaint ... everytime I pair it with my GoPro it works fine (all Buttons, etc ... everything). Then I turn off both components (camera and Falcon Plus) using the Falcon Plus . Then ... when I turn them on again using the Falcon Plus - THE CAMERA NEVER COMES ON !! EVER!! I upgraded the firmware on both units. Did not help. I also tried taking the GoPro out of the media mod (thinking that my media mod might be defective) ... no difference. Can you think of anything ... ANYTHING that I may be doing wrong. All other videos that I have watched have said that "once you pair the 2 - you should not have to pair them again. Both should power down and power up again together - without another pairing" I have to pair them everytime I power them up. What did I do wrong Mr. Black? ... You solve my (most annoying problem) and there is a donation to your channle in it ; ) I already notified AMAZON and they routed me to the Falcon Plus' dealership. Nobody has gotten back to me yet. What do you got?

Hello Mr. Danny, I have another method for you. To have better audio for the Media Mod rather than turning the wind reduction off, you can switch the microphone mode to "Camera Mics" and that sounds so much better, especially for me when I'm not using an external microphone to record a vlog for sure. I have the falcon plus, its totally rubbish, the footage is jittery and shaky making it unusable. I regret buying it now. Ive tried loads of different settings and recalibrating. And it just doesnt work without hypersmooth. The whole purpose of the gimbal is to run the gopro without hypersmooth to use ND filters or an anamorphic lens

@@naytr0n i have the crane m3 also now. So much better, completely jittery free. Down side to the crane m3 is that it can’t connect to the camera, but you can use voice control.

Honestly, sound from media mod mic is truly terrible and audio in your video have to be very well adjusted in post production... Or isnt it? honestly...
