Yesterday I just purchased a GoPro HERO 11 Black. 👁️👃👁️🙏
Great video as always! I think to me, your tip of shooting more videos/photos and experimenting with the GoPro as much as you can is so spot on. The more you use it the better the results. Keep up the GREAT work.
i love how this video is put together and how clear it's.
I just got my first GoPro the GP-11. One mistake I made was thinking the firmware update it conducts when powering "on". I could not get through my first poking around the setting before it would literally power itself off. It did this several times so I chatted with GP CS. They instructed me to do a manual firmware update and they emailed me the instructions on how to do this on my own. After the manual update I have not had any more issues. Just a heads up for those who may run into the same issue. Great video btw!
Great video and points! I’ve actually been using my GoPro for action shots and then my camera for scenic/close up shots (just like you mentioned), and the two pair well together.
Thank you very much for this video. It was most helpful. I am a beginner and guilty, guilty guilty. I have made all of these mistakes. I have had my GoPro for less than a year and have only shot a few things thus far. With the help of your tutorial videos, this year will be different. You have informed and, encouraged me. Also, you have rekindled my resolve and desire to produce quality videos that will benefit and encourage others as you have benefitted and encouraged me. Thanks, this was a great find!

Very helpful video. I am guilty of all the mistakes you mentioned and will be looking for your videos to upgrade my skills. Thank you for sharing.
I just got my first go pro and this video will be helpful along with your settings video for the hero 11. I am going on a month long trip in a week and very excited to try out a lot of settings and actually have fun with it

get a pile of battery's the thing is a hog. I ran my 11 , my 7 black and my 7 silver a lot , the fastest one to go dead is the 11 (if it dont overheat first) running them off a USB cord fixes both of these problems
Good points , the last is probably the best get out and use it and use it a lot . I find a mono pod is good also for different angles and fake drone video and it keeps it level .
I disagree on the 1st point. I've found myself cursing my unwillingness to record more after missing something I would have wanted recorded. Editing a couple more minutes is not that hard, specially if you're willing to watch the video at 3x speed or more. I do absolutely agree on every single other pont, though
Thank you so much for this video ... I'm a beginner & would definitely try all the possibilities with my GoPro before I leave for my vacation ... Like you said, there's a ton of info that one has to carry in his mind when shooting before editing ... Once again, thanks a lot ... Cheers 😊👍
Thanks for the recommendations on the editing programs and file name conventions.
Well expressed and shown. Show and tell one of the most affective ways to make a point. Thanks.
thanks again for your video tutorials: clear, concise information, good presentation of procedures!.
Just got my new Gopro thanks for your video! Will definitely practise different shots prior to my upcoming vacation.
thank you good video! Just got my first GoPro 10 I am using for Scuba Diving.
The first 4 of your tips that are not GoPro specific, are perhaps the most important anyway. Thanks for drilling this into my head, perhaps a set of recommendations that I need to master first.

Good point on long video of the same scene is boring. Cutting to new scenes keeps the final product refreshing. 👍
Thank you very much! I’ve learnt a lot from your videos.
Great video!!! 😊 I just got my GoPro this week have never use a camera before I’m totally loss. 😅 your video will definitely help
I am a really new with this like 1 day ago just started and so scared to use this GoPro but Thank you Werner for info! Helps a lot! Merry Chrismas 🎄☃️
Great video. My first time but I’ve subscribed and will be following more. It’s very much like learning to shoot RAW using a DSLR. I’ll definitely be watching more and experimenting more with my new GoPro hero 11. Thank you.
your video quality is sooo good! and editing also... definitely something I am going to work on improving within the next year
Excellent tips! My first time to your channel. Very well produced. You put a lot of concise information into a well presented video. Thank you.

Totally agree with using the chesty over a head mount. I capture a lot of fishing shots and you don’t realise just how much you move your head until you watch a playback

Hi. Thx for sharing your experience. So true...yes, actually it is needed to shoot and make movies many times to get better results. To buy technology is not enough, personal work is clearly needed...😉
Great video, thanks for the information
This is a really good video! I’m only a year into digital creating and I love learning and teaching! I do need to organize my pictures
Good stuff. I am still making some of these mistakes. The longer clips for instance, I forgot to hit the off button riding home from the airshow Saturday. I found one clip of me riding home, handlebar mounted so bleh.. not exciting at all. Thanks for this one and I will check out more of your tutorials
tx for kind advices
Your tutorials have already improved my footage quality by a lot and I've used different settings for different situations. I'm so grateful for it! However I'm curious if you have an idea, how to tackle mistake #1 better. It feels like i record for a long period of time and nothing happens. As soon as I turn the camera off, so much interesting stuff goes on. What could be a solution for that?
Your voice is so relaxing wow. And really useful thanks you!
Very helpful! Thank you.
just got the gopro 11 and literally watching all the videos. thanks
Great tips that this beginner can use, thanks!
I am new user of GoPro and I am yet to use it the first time. Coincidently, youtube suggested this video to me. Not only the mistakes mentioned are so basic that almost everyone would at some point commit those mistakes. It is definitely a education to me 👍 You straightaway got to the point 👏👏. Your Intention seems so Genuine; Speech resounds Honesty & Humility. While the Description & Flow of the points reflect Experience. . Subscribed for more 🤝
Great video, Werner. I just bought a GoPro 3+ used, I'm using it on bike rides. Still trying to find the best angles, but your videos help. Thanks for all you do! Subbed.
Good video man thanks
helpful video, just got my GoPro working today
Hello, when editing a video clip on your laptop, is it best practice to remove the SD card or plug the GoPro (with SD card) into your laptop?
Helmet mounts are definitely superior for skiing, you just need to get the position and angle right. Also the max lens mod is great for skiing as well

is there any cable required to connect dji receiver with gopro hero 5? does dji charging case keeps charging mics even if they are 100% charged?
Hello. I just bought a go pro but thinking i made a mistake. It is for a disney trip to take photos and close ups. Not really for doing videos. Reason why i bought was for underwater feature. Ive been looking at common mistake videos but seem to be about video rather than photos. Do you have advice. Thanks
thank you sir.. it's really helpful.
Hello so I have an iPhone 12 with a GoPro 10 is there any way around the unable to download because my high resolution it’s only 2.7k with 60fps. And I don’t edit videos .
So whats the best option to smooth the walking bounce going up and down? I've been searching for this particulary answer for a few days but got no clue so far...
Looking to buy my first gopro for motorbike notice gd reviews on hero 7 any advice for 8,9,10? Looking just to use on motorbike so need good waterproof and battery thanks
Thanks, you motivated me to keep my iPhone for what I was about to use a GoPro for, I didn’t meant it in a bad way, but where I live those cameras are extremely expensive and as any apple, I don’t think it justifies the price, so I think I’ll extract what I can from my phone, thanks!
Nice review 🎉👌🏻
thanks great explanation
Thanks for the last advice. 👍 I'm new to GoPro.

What user friendly beginner video editing software would you recommend for a new iPad Pro besides iMovie?

Nice video mate thank you very much. This is the first time i am going to use action camera (gopro11) , so far i was using only dslr for photos, so it will be very helpful because indeed action cameras is for other purposes . However i would like to have your opinion about the storage. I was thinking to buy 2 pieces of 256gb sandisk extreme or... extreme pro. Whats your opinion about the capacity i ve mentioned and the type of cards , thanks again :)

Number ONE. Yes, but in sports, racing or something like that it's interesting to watch it in full length (only if it's not a 24H race).
Aloha~any idea how I can download transfer videos speed up faster to my phone from GoPro camera? 🙏
Very helpful video! Do you have any good budget video camera you can recommend? Im very guilty in the last one. Bought my hero 9, thought i could now shoot my mountainbikes, ski videos at the same time use it on family hiking, birthday party or even weddings ^^ etc. Ye to often my videos looks like those dark clips you had there :/ I usually break my smartphone on bikes rides, so i need an additional camera. But im new to this :)

I am a victim of number five and the up and down step movements 🥲 how can I solve this? Would reducing my physical movement be enough? Or do you think I need a gimbal?

What’s the best settings for shooting at night and under the water?
Thanks for the basics, Werner! I'm buying a GoPro #9 in a few weeks to shoot from a kayak - whitewater footage plus flat water paddling, fishing and camping footage, meal preps, and gear reviews in the backcountry. I plan to mount the camera on a short tripod in the center of my kayak so that I can pivot it for vlogging. Can you suggest a self-contained microphone system for voice that can also pick up woodland sounds (birds and animals beyond a few feet.) Unfortunately, the GoPro plugin for an extra mic requires the waterproof battery door to stay open, completely negating the waterproof features. I'm hoping to find something running off a battery pack that does not connect to the camera. I've bought NCH VideoPad editing software and hope to start working with it soon. Any advice would be appreciated! I'll be taking still shots with my T3i Canon. Thanks in advance...Eric

Hi Eric, I have little experience with outdoor microphones. Sometimes I use a Rode lavalier microphone and use it on a recording device. Maybe a recording device like the Tascam DR 05 or the Zoom H1 would be suitable for you. They record autonomously, but you can also connect microphones.

I hope you have better luck with NCH VideoPad than I did. First video I edited and exported to my hard drive, it changed the format to something KZread doesn't recognize. If you know what I did wrong, please post my error. Thanks.
So when do you stop upgrading to the next new release gopro? Is it OK to say to yourself this one is doing the job I will just stick with this one for now?

Your videos are great; superb editing, excellent and logical narratives, and incredible backgrounds. Well done!

I never owned a GoPro before. I’m going for a 1month trip to the Philippines in December and snowboarding in March 2023. I also need an action camera while I do my auto detailing videos. I’m leaning more towards between GoPro10 or 11?. What do you guys think?
Thank, you God bless
Excellent ❤
My first & only mistake: buying Hero 12 & Max together & now I cant use both together. Gopro App can only support one camera at a time. Not worried about next 10 mistakes as I will be returning BOTH.I will be buying DJI & INSTA haha
where have you been all this time !! thank you very much for these tips, I was really disappointed of myself when I came back from skiing and found out that all the videos I made were always repetitive and from the same angle (chest pov) and pointing way too much towards the ground. I'll definitely make better videos next time
After watching this, I cane to the conclusion that my biggest mistake is buying a GoPro.

Excellent vid!! Instant subscribe. I shot hours of footage on a recent trip and now heading off on another. Even bought a 2nd GP to be able to add different angles for the shots (along with other technical considerations). I'm planning to do all the editing over the winter to take the place of riding until the season starts up again next year. I'm planning to upgrade my desktop and use Power Director for editing. I think that will be more than I need but I'll never have to upgrade. Will watch your videos and appreciate the effort it takes to make these instructional videos. Much appreciated!!
