Those tears probably started when the whale got stuck , and you wanted them to save him , while the background music also helped quite much. I've almost teared my self , but most def got my emotions turned on all of a sudden :) Enjoy life guys

The Hero 4 Black was an absolute game changer. The pillar which embodied what GoPro's could really do, and the best launch video hands-down. I wish they launched their current cameras with videos as compelling as this, because in the same way that the Hero 4 defined a whole new generation of adventure cinematography the Hero 10 is just as game changing.

you'll be pretty disappointed, because i have a go pro and the video quality does NOT look like this. I personally believe go pro makes a few prototypes that record at MUCH higher bit rates to make it look this good and then the ones they sell have the lower bit rates....same camera thou

There are so many shots here that are impossible to to with a RED camera. If you've done any research on the topic, you'd understand the sheer size and wight of such a camera makes those shots impossible. Plus, if it were shot with RED, it would look significantly better.

I've found that the rendering software settings have a huge impact on the quality. Messing around with bit rate and other things have made noticeable impacts once the videos are on KZread. Since I've got my new computer for some reason my GoPro videos finally look clear even after uploading them.

60 FPS doesn't look realistic. 24 FPS looks the most realistic for cinematography, 30 FPS for pretty much anything else (i.e. vlogs).

***** Neither 60 fps or 24 fps look realistic. But, people are think 24 fps is more true to reality because it is the standardized frame rate for cinematography, but that doesn't mean it is. Our eyes do not see in frames anyway, so no frame rate should be deemed "realistic." Personally I like watching things at 60 fps because it's easier on the eyes and you can actually tell what's going on if the camera is making erratic movements.

lyingpancake95 It's not that our "don't eyes see in frames," it's the fluidity of the motion captured by the camera at varying frame rates. "Realistic" in terms of the motion picked up by the camera, not what we're seeing on the screen. At 60 FPS, things look far smoother than reality. Try comparing a video of a waterfall in 60 FPS vs. 30 FPS vs. 24 FPS and you will truly see a difference in terms of which looks closer to reality. 24 FPS is the standard for cinematography not because it was arbitrarily decided, but because it looks the most realistic. 30 FPS is best for consumer video because there's bound to be more erratic movements and such as you mentioned.

***** To me it sounds like you're saying realism is the most important factor here. But in other medias - like music - hyperrealism has been embraced (e.g. compression, equalizing, and other methods) to give the consumer the best product possible. Visually, film has had very few significant changes to enhance the experience (besides 3D, which is severely flawed).

***** Movies are shot in 24 fps because that's the lowest they can go without compromising quality. If they were to shoot in 60 fps, vfx and rendering costs would double.

I am having goosebumps now. My heartbeat is racing like hell.

This is still one of the best videos go pro has made
