GoPro: Eagle Hunters in a New World
Спорт
On the Western plains of Mongolia a nomadic group of Kazakhs continue the ancient practice of hunting with golden eagles. The Burkitshi are a small and dwindling community, eager to pass on their traditions in the face of growing modernization in Mongolia.

No not a horse. Lions tigers and bears oh my? Maybe a week old kitten? Crocodile? Peter from family guy? Enormous prehistoric dragon and / or dragonfly? Endless possibilities await. You might also want a time machine because you're going to be eating dinosaurs and unicorns if they don't comply with your majestic flying requests. The only eligible horse is obviously pegasus without a doubt.

The only reason that mankind keeps a dog as a "domestic pet" is because, back in the day, that dog would help put food on the table. Years later, it's a very different story. Now, imagine if you'd have suggested back then "Yeah, your dog's pretty good but, I'm thinking something like a Golden Eagle would be far better at helping catch dinner", surely everyone would have laughed? You can imagine the comments of "Yeah, go ahead...catch and train a predator like that. Then get it to choose to live in a symbiotic relationship with you". These people are next level!! We're living in cities with dogs as pets that we no longer rely upon for food and these guys are out there living in a harmonious relationship with what are, essentially, dinosaur like predators. This has got to be some of the coolest sh*t I've ever seen!

I couldn't agree more. I love the videos about the bonds some humans have developed with wild animals. Be it an apex predator or prey, its incredible to watch. Especially with animals that have become endangered because i honestly think that if everyone were to watch these videos, it would open up their minds to how incredibly mistaken these animals are and they would see the raw beauty, emotion, personality, and the love they can show to us.

It never ceases to amaze me the ability of humans and animals to form special bonds with each other as demonstrated by the tradition of Mongolians and Kazakhs symbiotic relationship with eagles, their horses, and other animals. It's a testimony of how we must strive to always be good stewards of nature's inhabitants for their benefit and ours.
Ancient Kazakhs used to hunt with eagles and dogs, riding horses. Now they hunt with rifles driving ATVs. I'm glad there are people who's still keeping and passing on these wonderful traditions of ours!

Amazing. Truly fascinating. People are able to live in a harmonious relationship with eagles who help them hunt. I've heard of eagle hunters, but this is amazing. Throughout history, dogs were a fierce source of hunting and retrieving. I never thought of birds as practical. Then I took a second look at the eagle. Extraordinary. Humans all around the world were so very connected to nature before they connected to the internet. Now only a precious few even speak about the world around them with such respect. I have so much respect for these people.

(To the comment about do the hunting yourself) These animals hunt to survive...they do that already, so it’s not like they are USING the animal. They are simply sharing respect and responsibility between one another. They even specify that you must give them their freedom. If these animals didn’t share that mutual respect, then they would fly off...never to be seen again. There is a beautiful relationship to be had between animals and humans when an animal has been given respect and obviously, this is proof of that.
