I find it hilarious when I check out a book on GoodReads with very few ratings and all the recommended books are completely unrelated books that I have also read. 😅
Why is Dear Eva about high school kids and the guy on the cover looks like he’s at least 30 years old.......,

Non British writers using British slang is the worst. Make it stop it just ruins the book bc it has me cringing the whole way through. And OMG I had to DNF deviant king literally the worst book I’ve read but Dear Ava is a fave

As a Brit too, they’re are waaaay too many romance’s I’ve read over quarantine with a British hero who use British ‘slang’ NO ONE and I mean NO ONE under the age of like 50 use, so I try and avoid those types of books as much as possible, and I tried to read Dirty Letters and was drowning in my second hand embarrassment a big no from me

@@chandlerainsley i think it was just the utter over saturation of british slang, like 'wanker' and 'shag' were overused sooo much with no moderation, but at the same time, the author used words like 'couch' and 'barf' which british people don't use and it had me punchin the air :((

I would be definitely interested in some fantasy, but romances are also always a good choice
Honestly really love the romance community acknowledging problems in the books and just encouraging authors to tell stories we love in better ways 😊 also hope if you do end up writing something even if for your own enjoyment!!

You’re videos are definitely my favorite because it really feels like you don’t filter your opinions even if it’s unpopular and you’re SO unapologetic for it (that’s my favorite part), like shoo girl I feel like a lot of people can learn stuff from just your attitude.
I love your videos!! Even when I’m not interested in romance I automatically watch & love - you can tell how much you enjoy doing this and it really shows in the quality of ur content :)
I'm probably 10 years older than you and I still enjoy new adult 🤣❤ it's just so dang addictive, I don't know what it is but. I dig it.
the way you said “your favorite green bean” @ 14:30 🥺
Dear ava is my fav book dropped this year and also one of my fav romance books. I love how it had some stuff different to typical high school romance: the secret admirer thing, how Knox felt for her before she did, how the r word thing was treated, how it ended, etc. Also the writing style was phenomenal 😍
I find it so humorous that you brought up gossip girl because there was literally a clip I thought you looked like Blair- I watched it recently for the first time 👌

I always use this feature and also the option below where you can browse through other people’s reading list that are similar to the genre or trope you’re reading. It’s definitely a hit or miss. I LOVED Dear Ava!! One of my favorite books this 2020
More Romances PLEASE (L) yes, dear Eva was amazing I also found it through the "other readers" section. Btw, loving the short hair
You always have such interesting and unique video ideas, I love it!
so glad you did this. I think i'm going to try it! I would love to see you do this with the fantasy genre.
Your second clip talking about Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s writing is dead on how I feel! Literally took the words out of my mouth. It checks the boxes, but it’s not ever special.
Finally someone is talking about Dear Ava!!!!! Loved it 😍😍😍😍
I'd love to see a video like this with fantasy or historical romance :)

I really liked this. I also don’t normally use that feature but this is making me want to check it out for my favorite books to see how good it is or if I find any new goodies! I think other genres would be great! Fantasy & historical fiction would be good ones.
I definitely agree with you on the fact that there was solid dialogue and the steamy scenes were pretty good in Deviant King. Overall I’d say the tension was pretty solid but the author was just determined to make it weird with all the other bs :/ I was ALSO just thinking about how the cover model looked old as hell for Dear Ava moments before you said that 😂💀 either way I am fully convinced on picking it up now 🙌🏽
that feature is underrated that’s how i find all the graphic novels i read !!!
yesssss a video longer than 30 minutes we are in for a ride

I really love this types of video! They are so awesome😍
I’d love to see thrillers next! On an unrelated note I think I’m going to buy Dear Ava 🙈

But rewatching your videos had made me try to stick to my goal for this year and get back into my love of reading. First day and already almost finished the first book to get me back on track! btw in deviant king/in the third book/, you get a backstory to why does Aiden "want to destroy" her. Not saying it's a good series but the reasoning behind his behavior is somewhat understandable in the end. And further in the series you get Xanders and Kims story which was better IMO

YESSSS dear ava is my one of my favorites of the year as well!
on “outgrowing” new adult: for some reason i’ve never thought about outgrowing certain genres. up until the past couple of years, i solely read YA books; i just couldn’t get myself to enjoy adult/contemporary books. since NA has become more popular/mainstream, i have since been obsessed with it while still loving YA. i honestly cannot ever see myself enjoying regular old adult books. i just get so BORED!! obvi there are some exceptions but yeah. TLDR; don’t feel bad for not outgrowing NA
@W.Rain.
4 жыл бұрын
I felt the "outgrowing YA" I can't help but see all the things that are stupid or unrealistic, so since YA for the most part tends toward formulaic writing I can't help but mock those parts while reading, just can't. NA has often a cultural dissonance for me, the path of "growing up" in my country is different from the expected one or stereotypical one in the us. Thus "collage age" characters are unrelatable to me and many of them tend to seem sophomoric or even infantile.
