To an extent true .. though I hate this being the reality can't help movies showing a reflection of the society .. if it's about showing right or wrong then we can't even show a murder on screen thinking society takes the wrong message .. it's a circular give and take .. movies don't suddenly create a false message .. they get inspired looking at the society

True!!!!There's a scene in that movie where vani vishwanath's character asks jayaram's character to make chutney while she can manage other chores he just stands there petrified because "how can a woman ask a man to cook something??" 😂😂😂😂when i watched it as a child i suddenly concluded that it was wrong to ask one's husband to help with cooking

@@alphadude9143 it is her choice.jayaram's problem was not that one.he command her to go for jogging with him (as exercise) but she said she dance every day for her physical fitness and he is not accepting her choice.again,he was not ready to understand that every one has their likes and dislikes and also,he lacks the understanding that 'one person is not just an extension of other'. he is not respecting her individuality through out their relation and vani vishvanath taught him a lesson .

I rewatched swapnakoodu a few days back because I used to love that movie. I was really shocked at Prithviraj's character and his relationship with Meera Jasmine's character in the movie!!

There is a scene in the movie "avidethe pole ivideyum". The scene depicts mammotty's character as a typical KULAPURUSH who hates his wife going to work just because she is a woman. There are many scenes in that movie that show the husband (mammotty's character) getting irritated when his wife casually talks with her guy friends, when she decides to take morning pills because she is not ready to have kids etc etc....The wife is not perfect but that doesn't mean the husband is right. I had the exact same thought while watching those scenes and like you said was particularly disappointed to see those scenes in an otherwise decent movie. ഇതുപോലെ തന്നെയാണ് ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച കോരിത്തരിപ്പിച്ച proposal scene എന്നൊക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു പലരും കൊണ്ടു നടക്കുന്ന നരസിഹം സിനിമയിലെ proposal scene. ഞാൻ അത് കണ്ടപ്പോ ആലോചിച്ചത് ഇങ്ങനെ ഒക്കെ propose ചെയ്താൽ ഞാൻ ആണേൽ ജീവനും കൊണ്ട് ഓടി രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടേനെ എന്ന് ആയിരുന്നു.

അന്ന് കാണുമ്പോ ആഹാ..... ഇന്ന് കാണുമ്പോ ഓഹോ.... അതെന്താ അന്ന് നമ്മൾക്ക് ഇത് ചിന്തിക്കാൻ ഉള്ള വിവരം ഇല്ലായിരുന്നോ???

ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിലും പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കാൻ ഒരു മാധ്യമം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.. ഞാനൊക്കെ 1980sൽ ജീവിച്ച വ്യക്തിയാണ് ഞങ്ങൾ കൂട്ടുകാരുമൊത്തു ഇത്തരം കുടുംബ സിനിമകൾ കാണാറില്ല... കൂടുതലും ബോളിവുഡ് സിനിമകളും പിന്നെ ഹോളിവുഡ് സിനിമകളുടെ കാസ്സെറ്റ് വാങ്ങിയുമൊക്കെയേ കണ്ടിരുന്നുള്ളൂ.. കൂടുതൽ സമയവും ചെലവഴിച്ചിരുന്നത് വായനശാലയുടെ വരാന്തയിലും ആയിരുന്നു.. ഞാൻ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചതും എൻറെ കോളേജിലെ ഉറ്റ ചങ്ങാതിയെ തന്നെ.. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഗാങ് ആണ് കോളേജിൽ സ്ത്രീവിരുദ്ധരായ(Stalkers) ഗാംഗുമായി എപ്പോഴും ഏറ്റുമുട്ടിയിരുന്നത്.. എന്റെ പേര് Rocky എന്നായിരുന്നു.. അതുപോലെ Arnold, Bruce lee, ഇതൊക്കെയാണ് ഓരോരുത്തരും അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നത്.. (പ്രിസിപ്പൽ ഒരിക്കൽ ഞങ്ങളെ പൊക്കിയെങ്കിലും.. ഞങ്ങളോട് പറഞ്ഞത്.. അവന്മാർക്ക്(Stalkers) ഇതു കിട്ടേണ്ടത് തന്നെയാ എന്നാണ്.. One of the best memories of my life❤️) ഞങ്ങളുടെയൊക്കെ കോളേജ് ജീവിതത്തിനു കുറച്ചെങ്കിലും നീതി പുലർത്തിയ സിനിമകൾ വളരെ വിരളമാണ് Vaaranam Aayiram, Chichore(2019) പോലുള്ള സിനിമകൾ മാത്രം )

This is so good ..like some of these we wont even notice while watching the actual movie but they are so deeply rooted with patriarchy and just unnecessary backward ideas. Great insight! Keep up the good work.
