I love watching you and how you solve every issue. Your expertise is amazing and inspiring. I hope you never run out of projects. Right now I can only watch and admire. I’m wiped out from chemo for cancer but I get such enjoyment from your videos. Thanks!

You are one talented lady! The flooring is a game changer and I love the color. Looking forward to seeing the next step. 😊❤😊
I love the flooring! Definitely has made the hallway look even better and the rug adds an extra special touch and pop of color. Everything flows so nicely! Another job well done! Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to see what else you do to the hallway! 😊
You make it all look so easy! My husband and I put in a floor like that once - we did NOT look or act as cool and collected as you did in this video! 😅 Job well done, as usual! Can't wait to see what next week brings!

I don’t know how you do it. This is amazing!!! Also one additional idea to add light to your hallway is to put in a skylight. ❤
@KelseyRomitoDIY
Жыл бұрын
A skylight would be beautiful but I have at least 10 feet of dark attic space above the ceiling.
ANOTHER amazing project!! It looks FANTASTIC, Kelsey!! ❤❤❤ (AND to think you're not even finished!) I would love love love to see you take out that pony wall and continue the black railings and white oak trim from downstairs! And remove the drywall from around the vertical beam and wrap that in white oak! Come on, Kelsey, we all know you can do it.. just knock it out... wham bam 😄 (easy for me to say, huh? 😘)

🤣🤣 I think that would look great too. And actually wouldn’t be a super hard project. Because I have been renovating my whole house, I kind of have round 1 and round 2 projects for different rooms. That’s definitely a round 2 project.
The floor upstairs in the hallway. Is just awesome!!!! I love it so much Kelsey.
Love the color of the flooring! It makes such a clean statement verses a rug.

Thanks! I get caught up in details too. Took me a while to figure out exactly how I wanted the transitions.
It looks great! I'm impressed with all your skills. A number of years ago I ripped out the carpet in my living room and replaced it with laminate. I think removing the baseboards took me a full day. 😂Just an FYI: the flooring under the tile in the bathroom is vinyl, not linoleum. Linoleum is made from natural materials (mainly linseed oil, pine resin and sawdust) and is more expensive than vinyl. A fun fact is the builders of the Titanic used linoleum on the grand staircase instead of marble. Lino had just been introduced the year before and the builders wanted only the best!

Thanks for the heads up! That’s so funny you mentioned that about the titanic. I just learned that this summer when we visited the titanic museum in Tennessee.

Looking great!!
Another great job!
Beautiful work! You makeit look easy. I, though, would have removed the baseboards and put the flooring from wall to wall, avoiding the use of quarter rounds. (I absolutely loath quarter rounds, to me it feels like they are there to cover up mistakes, and they usually don't match up well with doorjambs, because they stick out.) Anyway, all that aside - the floors look beautiful!
@KelseyRomitoDIY

I totally agree- don’t love quarter rounds but I didn’t want to have to take off all the baseboards.
Love it! I can’t wait to see what you do next 😊

Question: I've heard you say in previous videos that you've DIY'd many other houses, so I was wondering what kinds of DIY projects you planned on working on once this house is "completed." Or at least the bigger renovations are complete. Was just curious because I found this video series about a month ago because I really enjoy people remodeling their homes and I love how you've transformed your house.

Hello there Kelsey, I have been enjoying watching and catching up on all your renovations. You have been doing an awesome job. I noticed the linoleum that you removed. I don’t know how old your home is but I would have it tested in case it has asbestos in it. I had it happen to me. Keep up the good work.
@KelseyRomitoDIY

Thanks for the advice. My home is 19 years old so I think we are safe on the asbestos.

Great job. Very good video. I want to remove my carpet. Can you tell me how many underlayment you spend? How many box laminate did you buy ? My hallway is about the same size as yours. Total how many days will it take to complete? Thank you!
@KelseyRomitoDIY
Жыл бұрын
This hallway took about 6 boxes of flooring. The underlayment and flooring needed can be estimated by your square footage. So measure your hall and then you’ll know how much you need. Depending on your skill level level, this project will probably take 2-3 days.
How did you get that heavy saw upstairs??!!!
👏👏👏👏👏
I'm curious why you didn't stagger the pattern of the floor for the boards leading to your room? Wouldn't it change the pattern?

Really just to save time. I think it looks fine either way.

I'm curious...I notice you're always wearing your earpods when recording yourself talking. How does this help you?

It has nothing to do with my camera or anything. I’m always wearing them because I’m listening to books/podcasts while I work. You probably don’t notice them because of my hair.
